@@dissimulii yeah because we aren't orcs who crave violence and would rather watch skill. you want to watch fighting, go watch the UFC... or maybe figure skating is more down your alley, since you people can't stop whining like little girls over "the good old days."
The GM of Toronto said it best when he has the press conference where he said that the game has lost its way when a guy like Colton Orr doesn’t have a spot on the roster.
Orr probably would've fought Boogaard but like the announcers said he got knocked out in Pittsburgh the game before and probably still wasn't feeling great.
Sean Avery was smart enough to figure out he didn't have the talent to stay in the league so he had to clown it up to stay relevant. The problem with that is clowning doesn't make a career.
@jeffreycairns767 Exactly. Being a professional athlete isn't easy. He recognized he didn't have what it takes so he went a different route to make a post NHL career. Whatever it takes.
I dunno about that. He had some decent seasons, especially for a pest with high penalty minutes. Scored 15g a couple of times including once when only playing 57g. Prolly woulda got 20+ that year had he been healthy. He also played special teams. A lot of analysts think that if he toned down on his antics and off-ice distractions, he woulda been better or at least lasted even longer than he already did. Not the other way around. 247 points in 580 games and a +16 isn’t exactly the stats of someone who couldn’t play…
Never would have imagined this kind of hockey would become extinct
...it literally isn't extinct. stop being dramatic 🚬

Boogaard was a beast. Such a shame RIP.
Boogard
Orr said he wouldn't fight him cause he was drunk
@@sylvaincollins3728Boogaard

It's amazing how freely guys were able to two-hand whack each other without a penalty being called back then.
13 years ago = “back then” lol

I know Orr either had a injury or wasn't 100% for some reason, he's not one to back down from fighting. Boogaard was definitely ready to go.
Boyle trying to act tough against Orr is fuckin hilarious. Boyle would get KTFO
What is this? Bodychecks being thrown? No scrums after every check?….miss this shit
NO one wanted to drop them with the Boogey Man. He was a beast!
This must’ve been such a cool team to have been on. From players to the head coach.
Up until last year, Phil Kessel hadn't missed a game since before this one.
I went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out.
it seems the people came just to see them fight more than just the game ..
Orr was tough nobody wins every fight boogy was never the same when he came to ny because of his huge drug problem what a shame
God I forgot about Sean Avery.
Still had fights back then.
Mess with Brown ,you go down.
Rip Derek Boogaard
Mike Brown was under-rated
And he couldn’t play hockey
Orr got an ass kicking in Pittsburgh
Sean Avery straight outta pickering

I hope nobody was too seriously offended by this?
Didn’t seem very rough.
If there's a fight, I put "rough stuff". Ever seen any of my videos before?

Miss this type of hockey!!..now a days the players wear skirts, not allowed to hit and God for bid you fight. They ruined the game
