    I had this wheel for 2 years now. Bought T300 Alcantara Edition with T3PA pedals. After a year I got this clunking sound from inside the base which was kind of annoying. I took my screwdriver and tear the base apart and found out why it happens. I just cleaned it, put WD40 near those belts and now its working better than new.

    • @jonathanchung7209
      @jonathanchung7209 3 роки тому +33

      Don't wd40 the belt. It's a Gates belt not designed for lubrication. Use silicone grease for the bearings.

    • @GrizzlyDaddams

      Should use teflon spray. WD40 isn't a lubricant. WD = water displacement.

    The only game so far in which I've been disappointed by this wheel has been in GT5, though granted it is emulating the older T500 in that game, so much so that I'm going back my G27 for that game. It feels a lot better in GT6 (due to support for the T300 being added post-release) and both it and GT Sport were the reasons why I decided to get the T300.
    Also, mine is the GT edition, because at the time (one month ago), the GT edition actually cost less than the regular edition with the crappy 2-pedal set.

    Just ordered a T300RS servo base, comong in from doing tons of research to tune my TMX Pro to the limit.
    One thing you got wrong in your setup as of this video, is that you set the overall strength to 75% and upped the ingame strength. That is where your clipping is coming from, and you can stop the clipping by going to 100% in the driver and turning the overall strength in the game down; that raises the peak strength available to the game, while maintaining similar overall strength to before (depending how close you can get it ingame), thus reducing, or hopefully even eliminating, clipping.
    As I said before, I learned this as part of trying to lush a measely TMX to the absolute limit of what it cojld reproduce, even having gone so far as to mod the FFB drivetrain to remove a massive amount of friction.

    I have had this wheel for over 4 years now and I totally agree pedals are indeed shit (I have replaced them, but in hindsight I used them for way too long). A tip for people experiencing FFB strength fading while racing: press the MODE and ST button simultaneously to keep the fans spinning on max speed, press again to turn them back to normal mode. In normal mode it waits till its overheating before kicking the fans into full speed and it will limit the amount of force to protect itself from overheating. You are far less likely to get this FFB strength fading when you keep the fans spinning on max from the start :)

    Last year I tried to fix a T300 and ended up refurbishing /fixing and then selling more than 20 T300's and TX's.
    So I jumped from the t500 and tspc I owned the previous years to the smaller models and to be honest I didn't miss much. Such a great ffb for the price.
    One big advice to everyone using these wheels. Always have forced cooling on (mode&button 8) and you'll never face any of the most common heat related failures of these models. I can run 100%ffb at the profiler and 90% in AC for 3 hour racing and never experienced any thermal throttling. And all wheels that I've sold haven't had any problem at all. So, FAN always on!

      @@angelotoderascu8190 Most are caused by heat. If you have the fan always on you're covered on that. Other than that a well treated used wheel is a much safer bet when buying, since it's already tested for factory faults that show up after the original purchase.

      @MGMan37 5 років тому

      @@angelotoderascu8190 I work on these too, for me the most common encountered failure is the internal power transformer (110V wall power AC to 24V DC). Replacing it with an external 24V 3A brick is very simple and resurrects pretty much every "As is - does not power on" I've tried it with. If you're patient and willing to take a bit of risk, you can wait for a cheap case like this and try it out. I bought one for $70 that only needed the $10 external brick to get working.

    I loved the t300rs wheel right up to the point it just gave up the ghost today. Lost it on a turn, hit a wall and it just went crazy. Motor is making noise but not moving the armature anymore. Major bummer because it's not much more than 3 years old I think. It is a great wheel system for PS4 but in retrospect I'm seeing there may be some issues with reliability and customer service. Thus making wheel base replacement the least expensive option at about $230. Otherwise I could jump up to the Fanatec CSL Elite for a little more than double the money and significantly increase the ecosystem. Tough spot Im in right now.

This small piece holds a magnetic hall sensor centered on the commutator with two small screws if this small sensor gets dislodged because one or both screw mounts break the wheel completely loses its center acting crazy. If you're good at DIY it's a pretty straight forward repair. There's a bloke that has 3d printed versions of this and it works great.
