You didn't mention the most important part: A corosion of the EGR cooler which is unpredictable and can lead to engine damage. Toyota didn't mitigate against it, and they put a blaim on a bad fuel. Pretty much, all of Toyota's Dynamic Force engines suffer from this flaw: M15A, M20A, A25A, 1KR.
Have you personally had an egr problem with a dynamic force engine Check out the car care nut on UA-cam He is a Toyota technician and never had any issues
@@paul_nwsxs Luckly, no. The complaints usually come from Italy (bad fuel with chlorine). And thanks for the reference. I will definitely check it out.
Very informative video. Big focus on simplicity and durability as expected of Toyota. Not too sure about that 0W-8 Oil though 😬 - will get you great fuel consumption but will it effectively protect the engine when used hard? I doubt it
At first people were afraid od 5w 30 that was prescribed in their toyotas, they doubted that oil that thin can protect the engine. Then came 0w 20 and people preffered already 5w30 they were already used to because it was too thin. Then came 0w 16 in toyotas and if was also fine, but everyone again was smarter than the toyota engineers and prefered 0w20 or even 5w30 or 10w40 because they knew what people say. And finally 0w8 comes and everyone will use thicker oils again for no reason whatsoever.
What are people worrying about with the 0/8 oil again Toyota would not use or recommend it if it wasn’t suitable The engine has been designed to very fine tolerances to work for its entire life expectancy on said 0/8 oil Again look how many of these engines have already clocked up 200000 miles plus and still they run perfectly
It’s not really a Nissan hr engine It’s developed by Renault and Mercedes I’d rather have na engine not a fan of turbo engines that are built to run within the emissions standards Turbo should be all about the power
I’m going to say yes Our 3 cylinder is just the 2 litre with a cylinder removed as they share so many components I’ve a friend with a 2020 2 litre Corolla hybrid that’s used as a taxi and it’s now getting on for 1/4 million trouble free miles So being as they are so closely related it’s a good engine My first M15 hybrid did 60000 miles in 2 1/2 years, my current one has 23000 miles in 12 months,, both trouble free Search out the car care nut channel He’s a Toyota/ Lexus independent technician who has done a lot more in-depth review of the dynamic force engine and he rates it highly as he also owns a dynamic force hybrid powered vehicle

The engine is very similar to Nissan's HR engines but HR engines are all turbo charged.
