Hey, I was just wondering, how do you wear this once it's made? it's such a beautiful design and I wouldn't want to ruin it by attaching it to my body with elastic. Awesome video btw, thank you!
+Lara Van Huffel I used fabric elastic band and sewed some stripes of velcro tape at the end. The shoulder straps are sewed with fake leather. I weared a long wig soo the back was completely covered.
NerdCore GreekFan no regular body heat or outside temperatures wont effect the worbla. Thats why you need a heatgun and not a hair dryer to work with Worbla. I am a 34F and never had problems. What i do if I cannot wear a thicker bra i pad up the inside of the boobiecups with foam and put on my skin a nipplepad. Always worked out good
very nice video thanks for that! really helped. Just one thing. I think you should put the gems first. Before gesso and painting. Worlbla to worbla is best glue effect.
that was cool, I've been looking for a cosplay costume of Wonder Woman's twin sister Nubia, and found out one doesn't exist, so maybe I'll try using your techniques to make one, it should be interesting, if you have any ideas on it, let me know. It's for our Commander's Ball in June that we will open to the public at American Legion Post
+andri theocharous Hi, worbla softens when you heat it up, so you can mold it in your desired shape. It stays in that shape once it cold again :D I needed a L sheet of worbla for my breastplate...
Hi I am looking for a material that can be steady but not harsh on the body for carnival costumes would wobbla work or foam ?. This is amazing. My only concern is would patrons be able to dance and move about comfortably?.
This is probably the most helpful tutorial I've watched on this! Thanks for making it! I've been wanting to try using worbla for a long time. How do you hide the straps once you attach it and have it on?
Do you need any straps to wear it after it's finished or does it perfect hang onto yourself? Was always curious how to wear a breastplate or armor pieces without them falling off.
Hi, I already answered this question several times... I have a facebook folder where you can see the attachment. Unfortunately I didnt filmed this step. :D
thank you so much for this helpful tutorial!! can i just ask where did u get like the heat gun and all of ur supplies? 😊 also how much did u spent for all ur materials? 😊
+Caitlin Baes Hi, I bought most of my material at building supplies stores. How much is a really good question ^^ Worbla probably 60€/ Heatgun 25€/ Drill 60€/ Acrylic Paint 15€/ Gesso 10€/ Clear Painting 6€/ Stones 5€ Holy cow... thats a lot of money ^^ Cosplay is sooo expensive... :D
Beautiful piece! Quick question: is it possible to add Worbla to the painted surface? I noticed this when you added the edges to your jewels. Thank you!
+Caitlin Danee Hi Caitlin, take a look at my facebook folder for this costume (facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.726266534184840.1073741839.664383877039773&type=3) Here you can see my back and some other suff :D
I usually buy my cosplays, i have always wanted to learn how to make my cosplay especially armor! You are big help. Do you have an ideas on where I can buy worbla?
I have a small sized B Cup and use 14cm acrylic balls for it. Just use a good fitting bra and put the half ball on top to find the perfect size ... bought mine at a local art shop.
Worbla is very strong, but its not that flexible and compfortable. So most of the people I know, who are doing larp sessions, are using HD foam for their costumes, its lightweight and more flexible.
how much worbla and craft foam did you use for this? do you know where the cheapest place to buy black worbla is? also can i stick flexible plastic mirrored sheets on top for a chrome look? if so is there a certain glue you can recommend and any other mirrored material you think could work better? thanks!
Also what is gesso ? & you cant just paint on top of the rough surface of the worbla? Also what tool did you use when you were edging the worbla and pressing it together to molt? (the thing that is white)
Kitty Chan Hi, the surface of worbla is very rough, to get a smooth surface I always use gesso or wood glue. Gesso is a product which artists usually need to smooth a canvas. You can by it in art shops or online. You don´t need this step If you want the rough surface, this is optional :) I used clay modelling tools, but you can also buy cake tools oder just use a knife or scissors :D
The same question that I always have for every build. It needs to be seen on a person. Yes you did a good job but can it even handle a con? Is it something that is durable enough to be really worn all day or is it something that you can only wear at the studio and get some pics?
Hi zertoil, good question by the way! It is not compfortable and not easy to sit in it cause my breastplate is pretty long. If you do a shorter version its probably no problem to wear it all day long.
excellent tutorial. would you post some more videos with a little more background light? I really like the way you made the pattern. I rarely have someone to help with measurements. this would save me a lot of time. where do you get the worbla?
+Missy Rabbit Hi. Yeah most of the time I work at night xD I dont know why, but late at night I am more productive... thats probably the reason for the background light. You can buy worbla at www.mycostumes.de or ebay :D
hi Barney, you can do a mask with thermoplastics. I made a riddler mask for my boyfriend once. But if you want to do it at your skin without a cast of your face, you should wait till the worbla is cooled down, but still flexible. otherwise you can burn your skin :D Maybe search at youtube, I am sure there are tns of videos for that topic.
+mysuperdance1 Hi, worbla sticks to each other after it is hot enough, cause it has a thin layer of glue. I use 3mm craft foam in the middle of two worbla sheets to get a stable construction :D
Kitty Chan Hi, no you can also put two pieces of Worbla together as I do it for the Cups. For the underbreast part I always use the sandwitch technic with two pieces worbla and one piece foam in the middle of it, then you get a stable and thick construction.
No I didn't make a full foam armor yet, but I definitely want to! I think mod podge is good for connecting all foam pieces, for the actual priming process you can use different methods. Maybe check out evil teds channel, he is the master of foam!!!
Awesome! I have worked only with eva and craftfoam but I think I should try out worbla too. Where do you buy it from? Also, can the gesso priming be replaced with glue priming?
Stella Papazova hi, I bought the craft foam at a shop in spain on my last vacation. But maybe you get it at a local art shop oder online? you can buy worbla at ebay or mycostumes.de. You dont need to use gesso, wood glue is also possible :)
Could I possibly use this tutorial to make a different pattern? And if I just want it one color, can I use silver spray paint after applying and smoothing the gesso? If anyone has any answers, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Of course! If you whant a really smooth armor which looks like silver, you should probably use the new "black worbla" and smooth it with woodglue :D The surface is way smoother and the silver painting gets really clean with some layers of spray paint.
Hi Kira, in germany we call it "Moosgummi", in english I just know it as "foam" or "craft foam" www.idee-shop.com/rico-design-moosgummiplatte-30x40cm-3mm
hi! I was wondering: is it possible to make a whole corset out of worbla? and also, how do you wear it afterwards; do you put velcro or something special for it to hold on?
+aileeneuvee Hi, its possible, but it is not comfortable at all. I used fabric elastic band and sewed some stripes of velcro tape at the end. The shoulder straps are sewed with fake leather.
That man brought you an ice cream, and you didn't high five him or anything. jk, thank you for the vid :D going to try to learn to craft with worbla, but I won't start with anything this big Q.Q Beautiful work though
+Tcup Grosch Thank you. Actually this breastplate was my first worbla projekt :D So it is definitly possible to do a big project as a beginner. You just need a lot of patience :D
+Jak Cosplay wow! This is awesome and absolutely perfectly clean I cannot believe it is your first project!!! I am gonna do my first breastplate soon and your tutorial really helped. Thank you ^^
What an awesome work!! 😍 Also, that may be a silly question but... how do you put it on you? 😂 (even before you attached the back I mean) Cause I would like yo make my own (first) breastplate and I've heard worbla is hard and rigid (at least much more than foam). How can we dress up if we cannot bend it?
Boulouteifull Hi, the surface of worbla is very rough, to get a smooth surface I always use gesso or wood glue. Gesso is a product which artists usually need to smooth a canvas. You can by it in art shops or online :)
random question, I have a commission to make armor and I'm not sure what bowl to use for a 36D bust size. I don't want to buy something to small where it would be uncomfortable for her to wear.
+Victor Guillen Hi, as I made a breastplate for my sister we couldnt find a acrylic ball. She has bust size DD, so we used a glass bowl :D The best advice I can give you: take a bra and put it insight a bowl or something similar, so you can see if it is big enough :D
Wow this was amazing. I really want to make a girl Nightwing costume out of this stuff. Quick questions though. How much Worbla did you use on it, sizes and money wise? Please respond : )
xXBat girl7Xx Hi, for this breastplate I used a L sheet of worbla from www.mycostumes.de, this one costs 31,00€. You can also buy worbla on ebay from different shops.
Thank you so much for this. I just started working with worbla and this has been one of the most helpful videos I've found.
Thank you :D
Thx. I can use this for my female thor cosplay
Hey, I was just wondering, how do you wear this once it's made? it's such a beautiful design and I wouldn't want to ruin it by attaching it to my body with elastic. Awesome video btw, thank you!
+Lara Van Huffel you can always secure it with Velcro and magnets :)
+Lara Van Huffel I used fabric elastic band and sewed some stripes of velcro tape at the end. The shoulder straps are sewed with fake leather. I weared a long wig soo the back was completely covered.
What if it's really hot outside would the heat damage it? I have bid breast so if there is under boob sweat/heat what do I do to prevent any damage?
NerdCore GreekFan no regular body heat or outside temperatures wont effect the worbla. Thats why you need a heatgun and not a hair dryer to work with Worbla. I am a 34F and never had problems. Fantastic tutorial, with all of the really important information covered!

Hi I am looking for a material that can be steady but not harsh on the body for carnival costumes would wobbla work or foam ?. This is amazing. My only concern is would patrons be able to dance and move about comfortably?.
dont know if this coment is too late for you, but i would use HD foam if you want it to be comfortable. worbla is really stiff!
How do you attach it on and keep it on for when you wear?:3
It looks great!
Take a look at my Facebook-Folder :D

I'll give you a like! Thankyou:3 Keep up the awesome work
You could also use spandex straps with Velcro or buckles etc. even better you can use regular fabric around the back and add a zipper to it
Please make a Jay Garrick Flash helmet... Thank you.
This reminds me of Xenas breastplate. Beautiful
Hi, I was wondering whether I could use something like white acrylic paint instead of gesso? Thanks, this tutorial is very helpful.
Harleen Quinnzle hi, yes you can also use a thick acrylic paint. Wood glue is also a good material for a smooth surface.
Thanks :)
Thank you really much :)
It looks really good! Where did you get the worbla... Oh and also how would you do this if your young
I bought mine at mycostumes. But you can find some shops in the description box. And how old are you? :D
Blow dryer
DragonPlaysMinecraft does the blow dryer work the same on it
Keishah Boltman I think it would take a little longer to heat but ya. You may just have to experiment with it
QUE HERMOSO LO INTENTARE ME PODRIAS DECIR QUE MATERIALES USASTE GRACIAS DESDE MEXICO

Muy linda la armadura femenina PERO NO ACLARA COMO SE PRENDE EN LA ESPALDA CON BELCRO O CON SIERRE O CON CORDONES COMO SAPATIYAS??????????

Hi Jak~ fantastic tutorial. What are those white tools you're using? for pressing stuff down, etc?
AegisRose nevermind! I found it.. it's a clay tool set :D
This is probably the most helpful tutorial I've watched on this! Thanks for making it! I've been wanting to try using worbla for a long time. How do you hide the straps once you attach it and have it on?
+Hannah Ball Hi Hannah, I weared a very long and thick wig , so my all straps were hiding behing the hair :D
That's a great idea! Thank you!
sos una grosa ❤😍
Do you need any straps to wear it after it's finished or does it perfect hang onto yourself? Was always curious how to wear a breastplate or armor pieces without them falling off.
Hi, I already answered this question several times... I have a facebook folder where you can see the attachment. Unfortunately I didnt filmed this step. :D
What is the thickness of the worbla and the foam between it? Awesome video! Love the style and colors!!!
Hi Dennis, the foam is 2mm thick and the worbla about 0.5 - 1mm :D
thank you so much for this helpful tutorial!! can i just ask where did u get like the heat gun and all of ur supplies? 😊 also how much did u spent for all ur materials? 😊
+Caitlin Baes Hi, I bought most of my material at building supplies stores. How much is a really good question ^^ Worbla probably 60€/ Heatgun 25€/ Drill 60€/ Acrylic Paint 15€/ Gesso 10€/ Clear Painting 6€/ Stones 5€
Holy cow... thats a lot of money ^^ Cosplay is sooo expensive... :D
Beautiful piece! Quick question: is it possible to add Worbla to the painted surface? I noticed this when you added the edges to your jewels. Thank you!
Yes, it's possible... BUT it's definitely better to stick wobla to each other without any color or primer in between :D
Lmao jealous how you can make such nice detail pieces from worbla. I haven't found a good method for cutting out detail pieces properly yet
I use one layer of cold worbla and cut it with a nail scissor :D
+Jak Cosplay I'm going to have to try that
Thanks for the tutorial!
How did you end up attaching the breast plate to yourself?
+Caitlin Danee Hi Caitlin, take a look at my facebook folder for this costume (facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.726266534184840.1073741839.664383877039773&type=3) Here you can see my back and some other suff :D
I usually buy my cosplays, i have always wanted to learn how to make my cosplay especially armor! You are big help. Do you have an ideas on where I can buy worbla?
Yuuki M Jak Cosplay
Yuuki M hi, you can buy it on ebay or at www.mycostumes.de
awesome thank you!
que material es este? se puede utilizar goma eva o otra cosa?
Wondering what size that plastic ball is? It's so hard to find the correct size and I don't want to order one too small or too big.
I have a small sized B Cup and use 14cm acrylic balls for it. Just use a good fitting bra and put the half ball on top to find the perfect size ... bought mine at a local art shop.
Thank you!
Hi just wondering how much Worbla did you need for this? Looks awesome!
It's so beautiful ! Question : Is the worbla strong enough to be used during mass larp sessions ?
Kitty Chan Hi, the surface of worbla is very rough, to get a smooth surface I
always use gesso or wood glue. Gesso is a product which artists usually
need to smooth a canvas. You can by it in art shops or online. You don´t need this step If you want the rough surface, this is optional :) I used clay modelling tools, but you can also buy cake tools oder just use a knife or scissors :D
So does the worbla just stick to itself when its heated? Never heard of this material and planning on making some armor and such.
Yes it does, the glue gets activated with heat about 80-90°C
The same question that I always have for every build. It needs to be seen on a person. Yes you did a good job but can it even handle a con? Is it something that is durable enough to be really worn all day or is it something that you can only wear at the studio and get some pics?
Hi zertoil, good question by the way! It is not compfortable and not easy to sit in it cause my breastplate is pretty long. If you do a shorter version its probably no problem to wear it all day long.
No entendí nada. Que material utilizo? como lo pegaba muy lindo pero morí en el intento
excellent tutorial. would you post some more videos with a little more background light? I really like the way you made the pattern. I rarely have someone to help with measurements. this would save me a lot of time. where do you get the worbla?
+Missy Rabbit Hi. Yeah most of the time I work at night xD I dont know why, but late at night I am more productive... thats probably the reason for the background light. You can buy worbla at www.mycostumes.de or ebay :D
thank you
Hi, I was wondering if this technique can also be used to made full face masks? And if so, would you be willing to make a video of it?
hi Barney, you can do a mask with thermoplastics. I made a riddler mask for my boyfriend once. But if you want to do it at your skin without a cast of your face, you should wait till the worbla is cooled down, but still flexible. otherwise you can burn your skin :D Maybe search at youtube, I am sure there are tns of videos for that topic.
It's cool, but how's that gonna protect you from an arrow or sword?
haha, I probably dye without any defence xD
What is that material that u use to smooth the warblo and foam together to make it bendable and glue together, and hard after it dry??
+mysuperdance1 Hi, worbla sticks to each other after it is hot enough, cause it has a thin layer of glue. I use 3mm craft foam in the middle of two worbla sheets to get a stable construction :D
Hi, what material do you use? is incredible
Its a thermoplastic called worbla :D
This really help!! :D
Nyghtrade :D
Im just wondering why does the foam have to be between the two pieces of worbla is it because it sticks together or something?
Kitty Chan Hi, no you can also put two pieces of Worbla together as I do it for the Cups. For the underbreast part I always use the sandwitch technic with two pieces worbla and one piece foam in the middle of it, then you get a stable and thick construction.
How warm does the worbla have to be, to be mold-able? Will body heat soften it?
Hi Dana, worbla needs a temperature about 80-90 °C to be mold-able. Bodyheat wont soften it :D

have you ever used craft foam to make armor? if so, is mod podge good for priming to paint?
No I didn't make a full foam armor yet, but I definitely want to! I think mod podge is good for connecting all foam pieces, for the actual priming process you can use different methods. Maybe check out evil teds channel, he is the master of foam!!!
Great video ! Where can I find a plastic ball like the one you used in your tutorial ?
hi, I bought mine in a local art shop. You can also buy them on ebay or mycostumes.de
+Jak Cosplay That was quick ! Thanks a lot :)
Awesome! I have worked only with eva and craftfoam but I think I should try out worbla too. Where do you buy it from? Also, can the gesso priming be replaced with glue priming?
Stella Papazova And where do you get craft foam bigger than A4? :D
Stella Papazova hi, I bought the craft foam at a shop in spain on my last vacation. But maybe you get it at a local art shop oder online? you can buy worbla at ebay or mycostumes.de. You dont need to use gesso, wood glue is also possible :)
+Jak Cosplay Thanks and sorry for the late reply! I already started my costume with worbla, thanks
+Stella Papazova no proplem :D
Could I possibly use this tutorial to make a different pattern? And if I just want it one color, can I use silver spray paint after applying and smoothing the gesso? If anyone has any answers, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
You answered your own question. You dont need permission, go do it!
Of course! If you whant a really smooth armor which looks like silver, you should probably use the new "black worbla" and smooth it with woodglue :D The surface is way smoother and the silver painting gets really clean with some layers of spray paint.
I wonder how you glued the breast cup part with the abs part? Just by heating up the worbla and stick them together? Does they bound strongly?
Yees just be heating it up! If you want to have a really strong hold, you can use their new material called worblas meshed art :D
Thanks
Hello ,what is FOAM (white ,located between worbla) . I can't find a translation in Russian. please send a link to the description of the material
Hi Kira, in germany we call it "Moosgummi", in english I just know it as "foam" or "craft foam" www.idee-shop.com/rico-design-moosgummiplatte-30x40cm-3mm
Perfeito...
also mich würde es ja interessieren wie das getragen aussieht bzw wie das am körper "festgemacht" wird^^ irgendwie kann ich mir das nicht vorstellen

hi! I was wondering: is it possible to make a whole corset out of worbla? and also, how do you wear it afterwards; do you put velcro or something special for it to hold on?
Straps on the back like an corsett
+aileeneuvee Hi, its possible, but it is not comfortable at all. I used fabric elastic band and sewed some stripes of velcro tape at the end. The shoulder straps are sewed with fake leather.
precioso!!!
hello please can you tell me the name of the material used to make and lining that as pueto
Thanks x your help ... congratulations x your ability
I used worbla and 2mm craft foam for my breastplate :D
Jak Cosplay thanks and where can I buy worbla ... I'm from Ecuador
and congratulations to have a fantastic ability goes ahead kisses and hugs
That man brought you an ice cream, and you didn't high five him or anything. jk, thank you for the vid :D going to try to learn to craft with worbla, but I won't start with anything this big Q.Q Beautiful work though
+Tcup Grosch Thank you. Actually this breastplate was my first worbla projekt :D So it is definitly possible to do a big project as a beginner. You just need a lot of patience :D

Has the cast of armor?
After it's all done, is it hard? Like plastic, or no?
Yep it is stiff and not comfortable to wear, but HD Foam is a good and cheap alternative.
What an awesome work!! 😍 Also, that may be a silly question but... how do you put it on you? 😂 (even before you attached the back I mean) Cause I would like yo make my own (first) breastplate and I've heard worbla is hard and rigid (at least much more than foam). I already answered this question multiple times XD On my Facebook Page you can find a full folder with pictures and a short description :D
+Jak Cosplay I'm really sorry 🙈thank you!
Hi! it looks fantastic!
Why use gesso? (i have no idea what that is)
Boulouteifull Hi, the surface of worbla is very rough, to get a smooth surface I always use gesso or wood glue. Gesso is a product which artists usually need to smooth a canvas. You can by it in art shops or online :)
Thank you ! That is very usefull. =)
No problem :D
Como chama este material que vc usa?
cooles Tutorial :) welche Moosgummistärke hast du dafür genommen?
Danke. Ich hab 2mm dickes verwendet :D
Cool, ich danke dir :)
How do you keep it from bubbling up?!!!
I always try to move the heatgun, never use consistent heat on one area or move the heatgun too close 😉
random question, I have a commission to make armor and I'm not sure what bowl to use for a 36D bust size. I don't want to buy something to small where it would be uncomfortable for her to wear.

which is the brown material that heats the principle
It's called worbla and is a thermoplastic which can be headshaped 😁
What are the materials you used mam?
Wow this was amazing. I really want to make a girl Nightwing costume out of this stuff. Quick questions though. How much Worbla did you use on it, sizes and money wise? Please respond : )
xXBat girl7Xx Hi, for this breastplate I used a L sheet of worbla from www.mycostumes.de, this one costs 31,00€. You can also buy worbla on ebay from different shops.
de que material esta hecho??
