OH NO! Daniel this is devastating news to hear. Certain heaters are dangerous! You stay positive and things will fall in place. I am glad to hear that things are in place.
Glad you got the heat running in the store again!! 🙏🏻 I had the exact same aquatop heater melt when I was water changing once. Now, I never buy a heater that doesn't have an 'auto off' function. So scary.
I keep a oil lamp to put under my 15 gal micro tank in case of a power outage I got the idea from a chicken incubator from Lehman's I still wonder if I could use my wilesco steam engine as a mechanical pump for some sort of power head I bet I'll figure it out sometime soon before the next power outage
@@Coralust true. I'm fortunate that I've not experienced a heater problem.... which makes me wanna buy new heaters. My only advice is put the heaters as low as possible in the tank because like you said, out of water they pop easy either from touching water or they just get too hot.
Glad to hear damage was minimal! Thank u for the great advice.

That sounds pretty, I love little steam engines. Let me know if you ever try it out.
I have that same heater and it exploded last month shattering my sump in the middle of the night. Almost lost everything. Now I use a titanium heater.
Oh no, that really does suck. Did you have a water alarm near by.

Awe 😔 that is so sad. I'm sorry you lost your frog. Good thing to check regularly.

How long should I consider on changing heaters?
