  • 00:38 Q1) As I develop anatta-sañña, contemplating ‘not-self’ I have this strong sense that that which is observing phenomena as not-self is “me,” like there is this subject-object distinction there. Do you have any advice for overcoming this sense that “the one who knows” is a self?
13:36 Q2) What is the right way to prepare for, and to practice asubha bhāvanā in our day to day life? When there is constant struggle with uncertainty, dissatisfaction and dukkha?
20:49 Q3) Why is it so hard to maintain right speech?
27:57 Q4) There are parents who are very harsh towards their child. (eg raping, torturing) In such cases, what is expected of the child with regards to filial piety? Do they still have to repay their parents?
40:51 Q5) How do we heal inter-generational trauma - trauma that’s been passed on from one generation to the next one.
52:28 Q6) Where did Buddha go upon death, or what happened to his consciousness?

    With much gratitude, Bhante.
It was a privilege and a gift to attend your zoom meeting in real time for the first time. Your teachings and skilful insight have resonated with me for several years now. A wise man once told me that if I earnestly and diligently seek a teacher one will arise and I would intuitively know it to be so......
    ......,so ThankYou
and Joyce too for enabling it!

Thank you Banthe for this talk and the brilliant simile (the fish in the water) answering question 6. It was just like the answer given a few years ago by a french buddhist monk to, the question "what is Nibbana " .
He stated: "It would be vain to try to describe ultimate reality since all the ideas we can form about what we do not know cannot be made up of anything other than elements of what we already know".
NB: Since you are in Thailand you might have known that a Thai Buddhist delegation made a pilgrimage in Sri Lanka .
Unfortunately I can't put any hyperlink , the A.I of this platform will delete my comment but if you type "Pilgrimage of Asceticism" in youtube browser you'll find it. It's the first on the list a 40 minutes documentary.
    With Metta 🙏

Thank you Bhante. I can solidly keep the other 4 precepts without an issue, not a problem - its the 4th itself where I struggle terribly, with right speech!

The fourth precept is just “no lying”. Don’t over complicate it 🙏🏻
