Yes, if a bill gets read at all, then typically it's the representative's staff that reads it and then puts together a summary for the representative. This wouldn't be an issue if the bills weren't so often many hundreds, if not thousands, of pages long (often referencing multiple other existing bills within them that you also need alongside the pending bill to make sense of it).

I was a Democrat just 2 years ago, in early 2022 I used to be a progressive Gen Z guy, and I'm a relatively smart guy with a high IQ, and I've got progressive friends who are also quite smart, I have a friend who is majoring in pharmacology, and is into chemistry and synthesizes his own research chemicals, drugs, pharmaceuticals, etc. I remember having conversations with him in 2019 and him telling me that Trump is a narcissist, and meets DSM 5 criteria for one, and how other narcissists tend to be attracted to one another.
I had a pretty abusive dad and have no contact with him nowadays, but I remember he voted for Trump, and actually wrote to him and received a letter from him personally, signed by Trump, he put it in a plaque and hung it on his bedroom wall. He also has a signed letter from Ronald Reagan too. Also in plaques. My friend was telling me about how "your dad voted for Trump, and that's proof that narcissists are attracted to each other"
Anyways, I don't hang out with anyone around my age anymore, as I don't like people that are my age. My beliefs changed dramatically in late 2022 and I started seeing the writing on the wall. In November of this year I will be voting for Trump for the first time ever. I also have a disabled brother with autism living in a group home, and I will be obtaining absentee ballots and putting it under his name and having him fill it out himself, as well as getting one for my mom. And bringing it to the polling station. I'm not too sure how the process works, and will need to do more research. But I've heard it's possible to do absentee ballots. I will personally be going in-person for my vote, but I wanna bring several more votes with me. And I would suggest that anyone else who is voting for Trump also harvest ballots, get absentee votes, or bring friends and family members with them. If you cant convince them, then pay them 20 bucks if they're stubborn and lazy, or something.
I can't stress enough how important it is to not just vote yourself, but focus primarily on getting atleast 2-5 other votes within your circle, preferably from people who've never voted before and aren't already planning on voting. Go to some senior living home and hang out with the old folks, and get some absentee votes filled out from them. I'm gonna be doing this last week of October. I've been visiting some hospice care centers and senior living homes and getting to know some of the old folks there, and plan on getting atleast 20 extra ballots filled out from them.
Why do I do this? I live in Chicago, a very progressive city, with a high level of voter fraud and corruption. It's pointless voting alone, as I know my vote barely counts in such a hard blue city. I draw "MAGA" or "Trump 2024" on sidewalk with chalk, and come back the next day to find college students have washed it out and spray painted "BLM" "ANTIFA" "Biden 2024" over it. Which tells me there is still alot of support for Biden here. I know for a fact the poll workers here are gonna be scrapping alot of votes for Trump.
So if I bring 22 votes including myself, and others are doing the same too, then it makes it alot harder for them to cheat. They can only scrap so many votes. If there's 1,200 votes for Trump and 1,100 for Biden (just as an example) then it wouldn't be hard for them to hide some of the Trump votes and change it to 1,098. But if every Trump voter brings 20 extra votes with them like I'm trying to do, that's around 22,000 vs 1,100. They can hide 10,000 votes and Trump still wins.
Therefore it is crucial to bring as many extra votes possible, along with your vote. This is the only way we can win in November. We must go far beyond the margin of fraud & cheating.
Back to what I was saying earlier, alot of people don't really understand that all of the institutions and platforms that control information and knowledge have been taken over by leftists, from academia, schools, hollywood, everything on TV, radio, big tech, social media, search engines, celebrities and influencers, mainstream media, the list is endless. These people like myself at one point, had every right to believe they were correct, because they never had a chance to hear the opposing arguments and views.
Many conservatives themselves don't even know the rebuttals to alot of the criticisms about Trump too. So many progressives still spew thoroughly debunked narratives about him such as the "he didn't make Mexico pay for the wall & lied about it" or "he said he was gonna suspend or terminate the constitution" or "he's a narcissist/egomaniac" or "he's pro-russian, he took money from China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and made policies beneficial to those countries" or "he forced secret service to stay in his hotels and overcharged them" these are just a few as example, and these narratives have been thoroughly debunked. But you'll have to dig relentlessly to find the refutations to them. If I refute these narratives here in this comment, then this comment gets removed automatically.
You can't really blame alot of these leftists. Some of them like the influencers such as the Krassenstein Brothers, David Pakman, Harry Sisson, etc, that's a different story. These are people who know they are delibrately spewing lies, propaganda, and misrepresenting & omitting context on purpose, and are getting paid by the DNC to do so, and receiving lucrative sponsorships and benefits. People who sell their souls are disgusting, and are the reason why millions of Americans are so ignorant and uninformed and falling for the propaganda. But for most average Trump haters, they just haven't thoroughly heard the opposing view and refutations to the progressive narratives. They've only heard some of the opposing views in a controlled environment on MSNBC that allows them to skew and misrepresent it, and that's about it.
Ultimately, you cannot really convince most of these people. Just like how a drug addict cannot be convinced that their way of thinking and living is wrong, and convince them to get sober, they will argue with you and tell you how wrong you are, etc. They simply have to learn the hard way and come to their own moment of truth and realization through their own journey.
That is the way it worked for me, and that is the way it works for most other progressives.
Suffering is required to wake them up. Facts and evidence don't work, because the progressive propaganda machine emotionally manipulates and social engineers them into being resilient to facts and evidence, and they will deny hard evidence even when they know its true and their views are illogical and false and based on only emotions and surface level thinking.
It's sad that it works this way, but as I said, the leftist propaganda industrial complex is very sophisticated. Even despite the last 4 years of suffering, there are still progressives who haven't woken up yet. Many California voters still love Gavin Newsom. It requires such extreme suffering, they need to experience concentration camps, live under totalitarianism, they need to see their own family members be killed by a gestapo, they need to experience starvation, dehydration, have secret police kick their door in and rifle through all their personal belongings, and take away all their drugs, and let these folks go through withdrawals. They need to go to stores, and have butter and eggs cost $2,000. It takes alot more suffering than most people think to wake all of these people. Some are smart and see the writing on the wall early enough, like myself, these 4 years were enough to get me to embrace paleo-conservativism. But for many, it still isn't enough.
And that's the scary part - some of these people will never wake up even when America is no longer a country, the dollar is no longer a reserve currency and we're paying $100 for a gallon of gas on the same exact wage & salary.
You can't convince drug addicts to get sober. They will always think they are right. They have to learn on their own, through hard suffering, tragedy, and hard lessons.
