What have I been up to? Becoming fluent in Spanish again, got heart problems so, I quit gardening for 2021, will get back to it next year, Oh! I remember, this video of yours about the date tree. Awesome video, btw. More of you is always a better UA-cam. Squirrels. Yep. Want to talk to you about Squirrels. You have them? Remember we chatted about Mexican guava and how much they suck? Yeah well, my "white" guava which I bought from the Walmark, turns out to be a strawberry guava! Yep. They would be about a month from being ripe except, every day while in the pool, I see Tonisha, my pool squirrel, running along the fence with a hand-sized, immature strawberry guava. So, I'm picturing your date palm on the menu with these tree rats. Are you gonna net or just plant enough for everyone?
They will be netted. I'm not sharing my valuable dates!

I’m so disappointed in this date palm planting video. I waited patiently for you to cut the string, releasing that beautiful tree and it didn’t happen!😭 seriously, you give me hope that I can be successful in my date palm growing. Mine is from medjool seed.

It's really strange behavior to voluntarily watch a video, then complain that you watched it.
You do realize that:
1. No one forced you or even asked you to watch it.
2. You could have stopped watching at any point (if it was that bad, why did you watch the whole thing?)
3. You took even more time, after you watched it, to make this comment.
UA-cam is full of many videos, ideas and much information. The great thing is that you get to choose which to watch. You choose to watch things you don't like and then complain about it...very strange my friend.

Have you ever planted from seed the medjool date? I have some seeds I want to try to plant.
So...........how do you know the sex of the palm? I imagine you bought it at a nursery where a female was guaranteed and if so how do you plan to fertilize the flowers to produce the fruit?
You should have put some fertilizer into the hole

Thanks for the video. Question: is there any kind of dates I can grow in Northern Ireland, or is it too cold there? If not, could ingrown them in a greenhouse? Would it have to be heated? I’ve seen some palm trees in NI but they all look small.
I live in ky, Us. It can grow outside here. But Ireland is bit too cold. But you can grow it indoors.
@@SolutionsWithin Yeah, but they grow slowly. I have a 6 month Date palm. 2 of them that I have grown from seeds. They are too young to be planted outside yet but They will once they are atleast 1 or 2 years old. But they will get tall at about maybe 5 or 6 years of age.
@@SolutionsWithin Here in Kentucky We have some snow in the winter but It's warm April through November. There are palm trees On front yards or balconies That grow here, but you can find many banana trees here. It's not the best climate but a palm tree will most likely grow here but it is not near a beach. And considered a Southern state
@@SolutionsWithin I grow mine from seed not really for fruit. But if you want to grow it with dates, you got to graft is somehow maybe.

I bought mine at Date Palm Oasis, out in Laveen.
date palms need high soil humidity and low air humidity to produce fruits.
Dates doesnt need high soil humidity

Date trees are going to prefer to be in ground.

No, it's a pup from an existing date palm. That's how most are propagated.
Bro dates have seprate male and female plant so u will have to plant a male plant also for fruiting
Around town there are many people that sale the pollen. I'll just buy it when I need to and use that to fertilize since I don't want to plant a male.

Meh, I've looked at research and experimented with it myself, I don't think it makes a difference. But I do love me some basic white girls.
