There's a Treasure Hunt in my State of Utah being sponsored by a family from Instagram! They have a riddle that you need to solve to find the treasure of $20,000! But the riddle is Lord of the Rings themed and it mentions the Weathertop and I'm so thankful to use your awesome video to try to solve this treasure! It's so popular now, that it's been mentioned in our local news stations!! Thanks for the video!!🪙💰😊👍🏻
Hey guys, first of all I hope you've all had an awesome weekend! As always feedback is appreciated and subtitles are available. I'm sorry if it sounds like I go through puberty at one point during the video, but I had recorded parts of it on different days. 😂 As I mentioned in the video, here's a link to our new instagram account: instagram.com/geekzonemt/
I understand your comments about Weathertop but I think it would have been as strategically important to be rebuilt and would be a symbol of hope for the new realm
Dear Robert Pettigrew Yes, I’d respectfully disagree with Yoystan on that point too. Amon Sûl is such a strategically important location & it’d be a waste to let it lie in ruin. Rebuilding it + adding a monument for remembrance of its history & the sacrifice of the forebears, would give Weathertop actual functionality on top of symbolic significance.
In my opinion, your channel is the best LOTR-channel on youtube. Again a great video. Thank you. Maybe you can create a video about Eru Iluvatar, next time? Greetings from Germany!
Thanks man, that means a lot to me! For now I was planning to cover some Elven character while I compile my research on Numenor, but I'll do my best to cover Eru in the near future :)
@@GeekZoneMT Thank you for your answer. Anyway, I am interested in all your video content. I'm always glad when something new of your channel is released.
I first read Tolkien at age 11, 42 years ago. Before CGI, before Internet. The world that was created by words on a paper always left so much to the imagination. It is wonderful to have someone such as yourself that has done all the research into the backstories and present it the way you do. You are doing such a great job.
Great topic choice! The backstory of Weathertop, and Arnor altogether, is something I've never really payed much attention to in Middle-Earth. You brought it to life, and once again I'm craving more! Always look forward to your content

It blows my mind how intricately detailed every part of Middle Earth seems to be. Everywhere is so rich with history and lore that it's hard to believe it's fiction. Another great video GZ, I forgot Weathertop had such a fascinating past...
I'm an insane Tolkien fan and I just wanted to say these videos you make are friggin' awesome and I really appreciate them✌🏻 ...the road goes ever on🍻🍄
There are many craggy hilltops on the Llyn Peninsula, in Wales - some possibly ancient hill forts - which reminded me of Weathertop. It's a magical landscape...
Carl, I enjoy your videos. Thank you for the effort. And thank you for using the proper names, like “Amon Sul” and not just “Weather Top”. And the amount of accuracy of the information is excellent. Best wishes to you. JTI
I love this Video. Not only tells it about the history of Arnor but also about my favourite movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, as well as Lord of the Rings Online, The Lord of the Rings LCG, the Board Game and Battle of Middle-earth II Rise of the Witch-king.
The battle of Gandalf and the hobbits against the black riders on Amon Sul is one of the most memorable in the trilogy---superbly eerie and terrifying.
Eriador has always been a mystery. All the history never really explored but I understand that the studios weren’t allowed to explore other parts of Tolkien’s lore
I never thought about that the way you just expressed it. I would have liked to have seen it restored but when you put it like that I think it looks better as a relic. I'm glad I don't live in the Middle Earth. I wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes. Even though people tell me I look like aragorn and I mean a lot of people. I'm a lot bigger and more muscular but I can't use a sword very well lol

I have a Question for the Q&A i love the concept and the mystery of Moria and was wondering if it ever gets re-established to Dwarf control or does it remain as they portray it in the Fellowship?
A strategic point like that for defense and the security of trade within the realm, I know history is important but a good and wise leader would preserve what artifacts they could for a museum and refortify that hilltop for the good of their people. More lives will be saved and lives more prosperous from a secure trade route then a powerful symbol like that
I want all of this to shine on TV or in the Cinemas! The story of Gandalf encountering the Nazgul at Weathertop the barrow whites and Tom Bombadil who I think should be played by Brian Blessed, Saoirse Ronan for Goldberry, The story of Angmar from the north. This is gonna sound really stupid but with the story of Gandalf escaping Isengard and reaching Weathertop before the Hobbits makes me compelled to see the War of the Ring in the third age shine as a TV Series. I'm wondering if it hurts to have Peter Jackon's Oscar winning trilogy fleshed out quite a bit, adding every important information that never made into the original films? What do you think?
