  • This machine isn't as well known, or as common on the trails, but a guy has to wonder why after actually studying this design!

    I still love this SXS.... but CHANGE YOUR OIL AND FILTER IMMEDIATELY IF YOU BUY ONE. The Yamaha engine has too much assembly lube inside and the oil filter was totally plugged up at 10 miles on the odometer. I only found it because some guys on a Wildcat XX facebook page were showing pictures. I should be fine now...but heads up!

      Completely agree! I love my 2019 Wildcat XX LTD!! Almost one year with 900 miles and not one problem!! We ride West Va and Busco Beach and many other east coast places and we push them hard! Got rid of the 30" stock tires (way to slippery) and went with 15" ITP Hurricane wheels and 32" Maxxis Carnivore tires!! What a difference in traction and handling!!! WAY BETTER than my 2012 RZR XP900!!!!!!!! Best day of my life was the day that RZR sold!!! hahahahah

      Good choice hope you enjoy it I love my 19 xx Ltd it’s also bean a great machine so far,the ride is so smooth haven’t taken it on some really hardcore trails to see how everything holds up but I’m sure it’ll handle it just fine

      KC 135 We ride trails to rocks and I’ve had no problems! This machine is a tank! Outer tie rods are a little small and may show some wear at 800+ miles but we ride pretty darn hard in West VA! I sure don’t baby my Wildcat XX!
      Really impressed with the build. Not perfect but damn near! WAY BETTER than my 2012 RZR XP900!!!!

    The structure of these machines are second to none in the OEM market. Can’t wait to see the new speed machines. The chassis and suspension design on these are amazing. This is the only factory cage I trust too.

    These are built like beast!!
    You will need to adjust the preload on all the shocks after about 6 months! And eventually you need to upgrade to the shock therapy dual rate spring kit to keep your 15” of ride height! Ive had zero issues other that and Ive had mine over a year now....mostly wooded trails and rocky stuff! I can ride all day in my xx with not comfort issues! The XX has way more than the KFX 1000! Congrats and enjoy your xx you’ll love it!!

I did have a misfire and replaced coils this year from Yamaha $71.00 dollars each only needed (1) I replaced them all why not So many followed the "Main Stream" and, We veered off on our own and it paid off for Us!!!

    Another pro you forgot to mention is what they did for the bearing area. The bearings are bigger than other UTVs for extra toughness. Plus the wheels don't put stress on the axle end because the hub actually goes into the bearing to carry the vehicle weight. The others put this weight on axle and this causes the axle to snap at the ends.

      Actually 130 horsepower rating on the 2019 and up, Unless you are in the sand dunes or want silly bragging rights, 130 ponies is all you will ever need. Haha Never been let down by mine. Will even outrun the turbos in the whoops! haha
      Mash the throttle and hold on! That thing screams to 8-9500 rpm and throws you back in the seat until you let go!! Especially in 4WD!!

    • @70GTODAN
      @70GTODAN 3 роки тому

      For anything except the sand dunes, 130 horsepower (the highest N/A engine out there) is all the power you'll need. The XX crawls up hills like a mountain goat in low and screams to 75mph in high!! Over 95 mph with proper tuning and tire size!!! So unless you are in the dunes or want "mud hole bragging rights" a turbo is a waste of money and maintenance IMO.

    1800lbs is the norm now. The XP pro is nealy 1800. The Kawa KRX is 1900lbs. So really the memo is out make UTV more beefy. Everybody else is just following the XX's lead here. Sadly I'm not seeing the rest of the competition reverse the air intake and exhaust output. The exhaust output should be facing towards the rear. But the rest are still doing it old school here.

    • @70GTODAN
      @70GTODAN 3 роки тому +1

      You speak the truth about the intake and exhaust!! That's why all of the Poolaris were burning to the ground!! And on the XX the weight is mainly in the structure. The roll cage runs throughout the whole machine! The strongest, thickest tubing in the industry!

      The earlier ones had a Yamaha factory problem with the engine. The demos are abused and not taken care of also. Drive like you have sense during the break-in and change the oil earlier than the book states and you'll be fine. Warming up the Yamaha engine is very important too. Sorry you had a bad experience. These things are strong and have less maintenance than other brands

    It's because of the up and down nature of the quality of built- WHO owns them now what brand is this under, it says a lot. The suspension isn't where it needs to be and frankly, you being an east coast guy with a WEST coast sand built rig, it will be interesting to see what the long term is. I know that the original Wildcat for all its short coming was a decent rig in the east, the articulation, the true front diff lock, etc. BUT this is so different even the west coast guys are passing these up for the X3's. Honestly I'd love to see a KRX1000 vs XX comparison.

    • @KC-7mm
      @KC-7mm 4 роки тому

      1978JWJ think a lot of west coast guys are passing it because it’s not turbo’d fact is this thing will hang in the desert even being NA it is a little soft on the suspension but also most people don’t ever set the suspension up properly either I had to add some preload to mine to set up ride height it made a big difference on the handling and ride quality

      They all have their problems. They all have good and bad. KRX is already having steering issues. Honda is having some transmission issues. can am and polaris CONTINUE to have problems. And they have been at this for YEARS. So I would give the Wildcat XX a chance. Pretty damn good for 3 years and they seem to upgrade any problem they may have quickly which is more than I can say about can am and polaris

      Do some research on the suspension please. That system is used on most of the racing off-road trucks for years!! Those rear trailing arms are massive and built for a tank!!! Really strong with no radius rods to bend, break, or wear out quickly!!! And they use 50mm wheel bearings!!! The largest in the industry!! The heim joints are huge and adjustable for axle adjustment if ever needed. I've hammered my 2019 XX in Virginia and West VA mountains for a year and a half and for 1400 miles on rocks and in mud with no damage at all on the rear arms or anything else! Not sure where you get "weak" from. Ive seen brand new Canned Hams and Pooolaris with the radius rods bent all to hell. Ive been a mechanic and fabricator for over 43 years so Im not blowing smoke.
