When I purchased mine (2006 ordered from DSA) it was billed as the SA 58 Tactical Para. Research showed the lower receiver was manufactured by LMT. The handguard is a shortened standard FAL handguard as all of the rails and such now available were not even thought of then. It was ordered from the factory with ODG Duracoat. I added a 3x Vortex Spitfire. It damn near looks like your set up!
Lekker baby R1 you have there Boet. Really nice setup. Back in SA I carried and used the short barrelled para version that was cut down by our armourers. It was only a bit longer than the R5s we also use. A couple of years back DSA had a guy who was originally from SA who had worked on those. People don't realise how nice short FALs can be.
I've always read that for FALs with barrels less than 18" reliability is better with he carbine length gas system vs. the full length gas system. So far (less than 600 rounds) my DSA 16" para FAL with full length gas system has been totally reliable, but if I ever add a second one to my collection I'd want it to be like the one in this video. Very cool looking FAL carbine with that Cerakote camo!
I have not seen any issues with either my 16" standard and my new carbine length FAL. Guess time will tell if there will be some. But for now I'm just amazed at the new rifle and how it runs
@@thefalguy9848 is it before 1957 , I guess so right 👍 , they wanted 308. To begin with yeah. Being that 308. Is a cut down 30.06 , a full size battle cartridge

I wish DSA would make their products available in brick and mortar stores. I’ve never bought one because….there aren’t any! DSA FAL’s need to be as widely available as say, Daniel defense AR’s. Pick 10 random FFL’s in a metro area, 8 of them should have at least 2-3 FAL’s on the rack at any time (walk out the door with it 5 minutes after payment).
The have a lot of brick and mortar stores. On top of that, all of their products can be ordered online. A lot of sellers on GB stock DSA products as well.

Awesome!
Thanks for keeping the Rhodesian camo alive.
I'm keeping African history alive.
Clicked for the FAL but stayed for the Rhodesian shorts
We all stay for the FAL drip though 🫡

Awesome. Thank you for that insight. I believe the 16" Para FAL to be the perfect FN. Not too long nor too short and reliable.
Love the mag pouch set up!
That Soldier 2000 camo is practically unobtanium on the collectors market here in the UK...
These mag pouches were custom made for me.

punchin steel with some authority! sick.... love the SAW grip too...always been a favorite grip of mine.
Thanks. I agree, the SAW grip is a huge upgrade over the regular grip!
I have always loved the FAL 50.63 Sure wish I could afford one.
Great rifle and camo 😊
Thanks, appreciate it
Compliments on the Afrikaans from old SADF Vet Cape Town, South Africa.
Thanks for your support!
Nice bru!!!
You just inspired me to get mine back out !
Hell yeah. Always happy to help inspire and bring the FAL community out of their shadow. Keep up the fight, make the FAL great again.
FAL M3 ...My all time favorite❤
I love this rifle....
Thank you. 👍
Single Shot controllable. Love to see that Rifle in a " 3 Shot Burst ".
Well I don't have a full auto or 3rd burst FAL due to the ATF's laws... so this is the best I got
Lucky I spent some time with it ❤ 7.62 but feel more like an assault rifle than a battle rifle

Wow...it's so nice
The other black rifle - ( right arm of the free world ) in 308. 7.62×51 mm NATO. The FN-FAL 👍
It's the original black rifle!

Great lookin rifle, keep the vids comin!
Thanks, I will!
I had my trigger worked on. My FAL went from an 8 lb pull to 4.5 lb. SO much nicer.
awesome. Who did the trigger work? DSA?
Dem shorts tho🔥
Very nice camo, mate. Close to the rhodesian. Hard to come by here, in Eastern Europe.
*Edit: I meant the shorts, not the rifle. My mistake.
Dang I want that exact paratrooper FAL (the only one I really want!) 😍😍😍
Nice paint job.
Thanks. The battleworn South African cerakote pattern does indeed make it uniquely cool.
Great video as always
Really would like to see how well your FAL’s group at 100 yards from a bench
Will do a grouping video down the line.
Great content, man! You should take a look at the FAL wood side folding stock from Kalashnicarver.
Thank you. I'll have a look at it when I'm doing my Stg 58 videos!
Heel Goed !!
Very cool. Interesting,
Thanks

I'm digging the camo and the chest rig. Can you tell us where you got it from?
S2000 chest rig by Extreme Gear Labs in Colorado. Rifle was cerakoted. Link of my buddy's shop who did it is in the bio.
How much does your FAL carbine weigh? I think it will be a lot lighter than the standard long barrel version
Roughly 3.9kg in this configuration (optic included). And yes, it's lighter than the standard long barrel configuration.
What ammo are you shooting?
150gr FMJ
To do it real South African style you gotta be firing from the " lê houding"! "Twee tree voerentoe en as die vluitjie blaas dekking slaan - vuur en beweeging"
Good idea. I should do a video on covering drills with the FAL.
Thanks for the video, having trouble finding magazines, anyone know a good place?
GB, FALfiles, any other used market place. And DSA will be releasing mags in a few weeks (maybe 2 months max).
What chest rig is that? I need one for my Sa58 para carbine
Made by Extreme Gear Labs in Colorado
Is the uglyness a deliberate design choice or does it simply come with the function?
Thank you for your valuable comment.
Was this rifle from their Improved Battle Rifle line?
Yes

There is a shop about 30 minutes from me with 3 dsa rifles in stock.
I drove to Arctic Ammo in Wasilla, AK for a CMR30, left with my choice of FAL Para. They’re around.

Those Short's toooo long😂
Great looking rifle . Does the FAL have the same style of gas system like AR's? Using carbine and rifle length?
No not really. There is either the standard which is super common and then the short (carbine length) gas system which is an invention by DSA.
@@thefalguy9848 You like the carbine length better?
@@hungarianhillbilly4144 for now, yes. Remember I only fired a couple hundred rounds through this rifle. But so far the rifle has run smooth.
