    Nice drone shots and intro. We just got back from the Lost Coast area and drove Kings Peak road from Shelter Cove up to Honeydew and then stayed at Mattole. You can see the vid on our page if you want. Looking forward to part 2!

    Awesome. My favorite parts were the overhead still shot at 1:33, and the community of elk you encountered towards the end.

    Cool video and good length. I want to do this trail over the summer. It this seems like a killer trip. I'll be recovering from a knee surgery and can't go backpacking so this trip will be my way of getting out there.

    Thanks Mischman for the video and the beautiful scenery!!! If I may make an editing suggestion, make sure your voice and music volume are the same. Your voice volume is low and then the music is really loud. Thanks again for the stunning scenery!

    Very nice job on the overlanding trip video. Too bad about forgetting the propane adaptor but you seem to be good at starting fires! Great editing. I subbed!

    Hi, thanks for the great video! I'm wondering if you think this trail can be done North to South?

    Where did you pay the $25 fee you mentioned for Usal Beach. I did not find a pay station or drop box. Their brochure did not mention any fees for camping at Usal Beach.

      @mitchkman  2 роки тому

      We didn’t find the box either. I asked a ranger about it and she said that the box was stolen and they currently don’t have one. She said it is fine if didn’t pay but they would appreciate the $25 as a donation.

    There is no legal camping on the Usal beach. Sorry to see that after my first trip over 40 years ago it's become so popular. This is a very dangerous fire prone area so open fires are not appropriate or responsible. Our northern CA coast is overrun with tourism and has taken a heavy toll on wildlands and wildlife. Please, please be respectful. Beautiful footage!

    Was it not possible to drive to needle rock from usal beach without going back out to the highway?

    • @mitchkman
      @mitchkman  10 місяців тому

      At the time, no. There was a closed gate.

    are the beaches in the lost coast dog friendly? can you walk your dog on the shoreline?

    • @mitchkman
      @mitchkman  2 роки тому

      Yes, they are. But you have to have your dog leashed.

    Where did you get that storage net in the back seat and how’s it connected?

    We’re these all publicly accessible trails? Always wanted to check out this area.

    • @mitchkman
      @mitchkman  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, all publicly accessible and easy, mostly forest road trails. A few were a bit steep and muddy. But we even saw a Prius make it out there. A few trails had closed gates that will open in the summer. But we were able to do the entire tour, except for a small part of Usal road, which will open in summer.

      Also, they don’t allow dispersed camping since it is all wilderness area. But there are a lot of well maintained campgrounds.

    Would this be possible to do in a RWD 2021 ranger?

    • @mitchkman
      @mitchkman  Рік тому

      Yes, but I suggest not doing it in the winter in a 2WD. It can get pretty muddy.
