Thanks for this. I have owned 2 of these (still have one). Nice guitars. Just to clarify though, the body and neck are not maple: these bodies were made from Japanese Judas Tree. The neck is made from Nato (Mora, also called 'Eastern Mahogany', not to be confused with Nyatoh, and not actually related to Mahogany). The SG-85 had both Honduras Mahogany body and neck.
Wow. That series of SG predates the famous 2000 by a bit. You don't see them in such great condition very often. Very nice. Great sound.
I recently bought an SG-45 and I was blown away by the tone and the craftsmanship!
