It was a dull drive 20 years ago…the only fun we had was counting the tumble weed. Apart from the Hoover dam Vegas to the Grand Canyon is pretty dull too. Whoever said life is all about the journey had never done these two…thankfully it’s worth it.

FYI Zzyzx rd is pronounced Isaac. I was told this back in 1987 it used to be a café right there when you exit interstate 15. As truck drivers, I pass this exit every night on my way from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. No one knew how to pronounce it the waitress inside told us it’s pronounced Isaac the Z is silent. Y before I you guys do remember that from school, right? Lol

I have done that trip a cpl of times but yes it’s long and in a lot of places boring but as a Brit just driving through the desert and the traffic is interesting enough for me, there a few decent places to stay to have something to eat stop etc. First time I done it we stayed in Victorville but the last time approx 9 years ago we pressed on Glad we did
Yeah I get what you mean. My first trip I was just amazed by all the open space and the railway lines etc. I guess now I’m a little jaded because I’ve done it so much.

I just love Las Vegas. It's decadency at it's finest and yet it's something you have to see and enjoy. It's just another world. It's a playground for grown ups. And I don't mind the drive actually. I kind of like it but that's probably because the landscape between LA (usually my starting point) and Las Vegas is so foreign to me I enjoy every minute of it.

Great video - would maybe suggest getting rid of the background music when looking round the water park for example. Just feels a bit unnecessary and takes away from the atmosphere of it slightly
