    This guy is a special athlete. His best asset, however, is his brain...like Magnus Ver Magnusson, Adam will beat guys who may be statically stronger than him by pure will and determination and getting the right lift in at the right time...

      You're totally right - when he dropped the 4th log at BSM this year, he made a quick decision not to waste energy on a second attempt, and it paid off massively later in the day. He's not an ego lifter, he's always thinking ahead.
      Not only that but he has superb technique as well. His deadlifts are perfectly tight, he keeps tension all the time. Makes it much safer, but also means he's not wasting any energy with unnecessary movements. It's amazing to watch.

    It would be interesting to see how effective someone like the Mountain would be at rugby. Imagine someone like that coming of the bench for the last 20 minutes.

      He'd have to cut a fair amount of weight, wouldn't be mobile enough for rugby. A guy like Devin Toner is taller than him and weighs around 280lbs.

      @@Dame_Judi_Hench That's cool, I haven't been following his progress. I only really see Eddie's videos pop up on my UA-cam. Would actually like to see the fight, compared to that Mayweather, McGregor fight, which I always thought was a bit of a joke. Just making the comparison because McGregor wasn't a "serious" boxer fighting a top boxer, at least with these two, neither are boxers by trade at all, but its interesting because they are both so strong. It's more fair.

      Because youd never squat lower than 90 degrees in rugby, most athletes traing for sports dont squat deep.

    • @mass9047
      @mass9047 4 роки тому +1

      most likely has to do with the player having crap mobility and being unable to squat to full depth without lower back rounding which you really don't want if you want a long and healthy career in a sport like rugby

    I'm not sure how he maintains 146kg bodyweight on 6.5k calories per day.
    I'm just over 100kg and eat 6k calories per day at 5' 9" .
    With his training program, surely he'd require far more calories?
    The likes of Hafþor, Shaw and, Hall all consume 10k plus calories per day.

      I thought that, but Big Z used to only do 6.5k as well. Also I'm 6'1'' 135kg and can gain weight still on 5500/day but I know guys who are my height or taller, who lift and are similarly active to me, and eat 5000+/day and cant put weight on. Thor is probably like this, so he has to force feed himself.

      Your base line calories can fluctuate massively between people, average superficial body tempt , non exercise actively (fidgeting) etc how much energy you spend digesting food, all these things can fluctuate massively.
      Your body just uses more energy then others his does.

      @shaneshaneist 4 роки тому

      sumsar01 Yes but why would a rugby player need to be very strong at the deadlift? It’s a risky exercise when you go heavy and they are professional athletes who need to be fit to play.
      The risk isn’t worth the reward.

    • @oliverallen5324

      shaneshaneist it’s not risky at all. No one is asking them to pull 400kg. Learn to pull. Stronger is better. Take your ignorance elsewhere.
