I have a lot of t-shirts, specifically graphic tees, so I will probably be donating a bunch! I also declutter clothes that don't fit- but I put them in storage if they are of good quality as my weight sometimes fluctuates. I finally want to get rid of some sweaters and hoodies that don't sparkle joy as well as pajamas. Maybe also some super old $1 Old Navy flip flops too.
Shirts I think. I love the look of them but somehow am never happy with how they look on me - no matter if they're tucked, half tucked or loose. Think that's was a fantasy self thing. And also T-shirts that I no longer like the shape of and that are a bit too tight since my arms got more muscular. Yay for renovating ;)
Congratulations! A young wild black cat comes into my backyard every day, I feed him, he eats and immediately runs away. He is very timid and does not allow anyone to approach him. But I hope by the beginning of winter he will get used to me and I will become the happy owner of a black cat, just like you!
@@IrinaVanRonkelI really hope that works out for you. You’re doing something lovely 🐈⬛ Bluebell, my new cat, went to the rescue centre as a stray, and my previous cat, Friend, chose me.
I loved this video. The thing that is most helpful to me when people Declutter is the reasons why they keep or get rid of something. Super useful discussions around that. Thank you!
wow, i'm literally in the middle of a break from decluttering my own closet right now 😂 if this isn't a sign from the universe to continue my spring cleaning idk what is lol 🥹🫶
I find decluttering by season the best approach. I do a closet check for the coming season and try everything on. If it doesn't fit anymore I either put it in storage and try again next year or I replace it. I don't have much specifically only for Summer, so that check is pretty quick. The "maybe" pieces I make a mental note and if they didn't work for me, I declutter them after the season.
Love to see more of this style of video. Don’t get me wrong. I always feel thankful for your summarization of ideas. like it helps me understanding my over buying and cluttering a lot better. But to see how it applies to real life, is quite helpful. 😊❤
I'm a sweaty gal so I am trying to avoid non-natural fabrics (within reason) because other fabric has plastics and it will make you sweat. I have gained weight so I have to go through my closet and declutter again. I noticed I have a lot of "dream self" clothing. It's amazing how decluttering is basically removing layers of yourself to get to who you really are.
It's so cool to watch such video while decluttering. I'm with you. Sometimes It's hard after realizing how many things you have. I took my lession after stupid teenege choices ;/
Love the idea of a maintenance declutter vs a base/beginner/overwhelm declutter. I feel like decluttering gets a lot of absolute statements thrown at it as a though the need for less is always coming from one place and deserves one approach.
I decluttered a few weeks ago. I give my things away on a buy nothing group. I also take them to my local thrift store. If they are stained/damaged I turn them into bags for gift giving and utility use. I recently cleared out a stash of items that fit in this category that just got to large and unmanageable to repurpose. I felt guilty for sending them to the trash. My goal is to eliminate as much fabric in landfill as I can. Starting again on this project, I learned it's easier to do a little at a time than let it build up.
I love the point you made about opting for a dupe then not being satisfied with it. I pay more attention to small details on garments now because they all make a difference to the overall look of an outfit.
I'm so glad you're keeping that a-line skirt because i think it's going to be great with a sneaker and works so well with your 3 words! Also i understand what you mean about sensory issues, I literally sweat when i wear itchy clothing because I'm so aware of the feeling on my skin.
Excellent, thoughtful, responsible declutter, nice work. I have just done a small pre spring declutter, and am very pleased with my minimal wardrobe. I did a bigger declutter in February, post a 3 week trip in South Africa with hand luggage only, where I realised I don't need that many clothes. Personally, I think the Teddy coat drowns you a bit - I think it's the big lapels, and a more saturated, cooler colour might look better. Just my view. Excellent work - I am with you on comfort too, if it's not comfortable, it has to go!
Oops that was my last video 😅 - I sent the feedback to them. I think it’s their marketing strategy to put out content close together with their partners
I've noticed almost every style cc I follow posted their Lilysilk videos this week 😂 it's lowkey annoying, but we do understand these women have to make money. Still, this brand is so *annoying* like they're thinking people would fall to the FOMO that doesn't really exist. Sorry
Definitely agree the striped sweater has to go. It's hard imagining you wearing it on purpose! Also, good call on saving the teddy coat. Check it again at the beginning of cold weather; if you don't want it, that will be a good time to pass it on. Right now I'm not decluttering clothes. I don't have the perfect wardrobe, but almost everything I have is useful to me.
❤ very inspiring. I feel the same about crew next cardigans! I always wear mine as tops with the highest buttons undone. And try I to get a v-neck style instead to make it feel less preppy. Recently got rid of a vintage lambs wool beige pencil skirt, it was such an amazing quality classic! But never wore it, the vibe felt far too stiff however I styled it. I heard before to never get rid of a classic basic that fits you well, but in this case, I gave it to my niece and she is rocking it!! So glad I listened to my gut
Christina I wholeheartedly love this channel!❤ I'm decluttering all the cheap basics that don't fit exactly the way I envisioned they should. I realized I hate the way those materials feel and look. They were supposed to elevate my simple look but became another problem instead. Ugghh. Next are long shirts. I have a short torso so all the extra material is unflattering. Cropped is my jam. Also all the vintage Levi's that I thrifted that need altering but I purchased them because they were vintage and $7 each! Donating them for someone else to love.
I just dipped my toe in the water -I’m retiring. I know I won’t need all these clothes. But it’s hard. I’m starting with low hanging fruit. Watching you talk through your decisions helped return me to my purpose of paring down to what i love. it's very difficult when your look swings widely and mine does. Thank you for some perspective and techniques for moving forward.
The fuzzy brown jacket colour flattering on you and I like the collar too. Could be fun for Fall. But I see what you mean about the arms being a bit too bulky. I don’t like feeling bulky in my clothes because I’m already bulky in my body. 😫
The leather jacket is gorgeous but it is large for you. I bought a men's wool coat for a great price but it was large for me. I took it to a tailor and he took the waist in and re-shaped the waistline and shortened the sleeves. It was $60 for the tailoring but with that and the cost of the coat, it was much cheaper than what I could find in store. I don't know if tailoring would be worthwhile for your leather jacket but may be an option with other pieces you may have.
Can we also talk about how “sizing up” for an oversized look, aside from not always being aesthetically pleasing, is also not always an option if your fitted size is a L or XL? I feel like this nuance is often overlooked but has real repercussions for the people who actually want to find something in their size.
I have been decluttering some of my winter wardrobe that I didnt wear again last season so am finally getting it out. Plus most of my black clothes will be leaving this spring/summer as well.. Black in the extreme heat and humidity just doesnt feel good and makes me sweat more TBH. Thanks for the video.
That Tibi jacket is a dream on you. Looks fab, also with the cos skirt, I think you mentioned giving it Just a slightly shorter hem in another video and I say yes. I had a dress I loved but the length was Just a couple inches too long, just a touch off. Finally hemmed it and I love it so much, hits just the perfect spot on my lower calves now. Before it was that weird neither fully committed to maxi nor to a tea length midi.
I decluttered my spring/summer wardrobe in January because in Phoenix, AZ, it is already going to be 90 degrees. It does feel liberating when you take pieces and either repurpose , donate or sell them. Good decision to declutter the oversized blue blouse and leather jacket. Don't hide your beautiful silhouette.
I agree on all you say! 👌 I if you love it just leave it (in your closet or storage) It can take a long time, at least for me, to feel comfortable in something how ever much I love it! ❤

Dramatics wear thick and heavy fabrics well maybe that’s why the stripe cashmere sweater didn’t work out. It’s too soft. That’s why I love the Kibbe system. You know what works and what doesn’t and why. Great video!
This was lovely to see in comparison to your older decluttering videos (which are very good btw) but feels like you've grown so much not talking abt the gains but gurllll u do be rocking haha. Hope you feel good abt this declutter and just to leave my comment u looked amazing in the square neck bodysuit sad thing it wasn't comfortable. Love your channel xoxo
Hi, your red cardigan is very beautiful and bright but I feel that if you would dye it in burgundy, you would use it so much more. It would match your vibe, bring a bit of chic and neutrality {compare to the vibrant red it is now ) to future outfits.
Would you consider exchanging clothes with Alyssa and Signe, esp those pieces that you will be selling? It is still conscious shopping and would be a great content. 😊
I'd love to be able todo bodysuits but they never work for me. I'm a size medium and if I want them to not end killing my yoni or riding up my behind I need to size up to at least a large or even an extralarge which than leads to them being to lose everywhere which kinda defeats the purpose of bodysuits 😅 same for bathingsuits. they are just not made for small boobed, big behinder tall girl like myself 😅. also I'm really into the whole figuring out my colorseason thing right now - which is very hard as it is all contradicting in my case. however are you a winter? or dark autumn? I would have expected you to be a winter with your dark eyes, dark hair, light skin and high contrast but you look good in gold jewelery so it is like you shouldn't be a winter. Or are you a neutral skintone like myself so you don't really fit into a category? also you look good in black - which is a winter colour but you mostly wear colours from the dark autumn spectrum. so what are you? sorry - it's just my latest hyperfocus 😂
I love your wit and energy in this video. It's itchy?! I just got a beautiful sage Cardi from Sezane and there's mohair and alpaca and it's a little irritating. What am I going to do?! And... I'd say keep the shearling coat!😂
Oh my God, every time that I put on a cardigan I turn into my mother. Like it's crazy. Could be the most trendy piece, could be beautiful. Beautiful cashmere, but as soon as I put that on my body I'm like oh my God I'm giving myself grief for not going to school. So I get the cardigan association lol. Now when I thrift and I find a beautiful cardigan? I send it straight to my mother lol some things just aren't meant for you and that's oookay fine.
🤔Ahhh. Stripes & that fabulous 💋French Girl fantasy. I feel you. Love the elegance of a vertical stripe⏸️, & the slimming fx, but I cannot handle the majority of this pattern near my face. All out in full glory, the stripes seem to overwhelm my sensibilities😳.⚡️Zaps my mojo right away... 😉The only way I can tolerate this classic button up that I absolutely adore💕 otherwise is UNDER a body‐con crew neck navy sweater vest that serves as preppy corset. It corrals both the busyness of the pattern & the shirt's volume. Now, I only get a "pop" of pattern at collar, sleeves cuffed, & the loose hem. 🎉Voila!🎉 ➖️Horizontal stripes are strictly taboo 🚫. They only magnify the width ↔️ of my big bust & wide hips. Two things as an extreme hourglass ⏳️ that I dress to ➡️minimize⬅️. 🤓Before anyone jumps to my preference for ⬆️ high crew necks〰️ know I passionately hate😠 any neckline that shows off cleavage. Most other necklines do in my case...when the girls are properly lifted😂. I'd rather use a scarf, minimal statement jewelery, or a belted or tailored topper to create that slimming "🔻" impression. 😊Enjoyed your analysis & decluttering process. Glad you saved the maxi skirt for another styling go round. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
I might be alone, but i was like Not the Ref striped sweater!!!! I was inspired to buy one because of you. I got a small because they are huge! Im going to wear mine on my shoulders and embrace my 25% French self, lol. If you have a ribbed Jackie in black, i think the Ref boyfriend would look nice around your shoulders with that. You might like the Dana Ref crews better. They are a tighter neckline. I have one in the opposite bkack/white stripe (more black, little white stripe) snd reach for it a lot.

I love your wit and energy in this video. It's itchy?! I just got a beautiful sage Cardi from Sezane and there's mohair and alpaca and it's a little irritating. What am I going to do?! And... I'd say keep the shearling coat!😂
But a sage Henley to layer 💕
I decided to return the$170 Sezane cardi. I just found a $5 Value Village cotton cardi in a similar colour. Big win!
Great video!
It is a good demonstration that buying for fashion is completely useless.
I just spent a ton on clothes but all super inexpensive. I had no clothes 😭
Ps the teddy jacket, keep it. It's all drama and that's you now apparently lol ❤
🎉Voila!🎉
➖️Horizontal stripes are strictly taboo 🚫.

I have a dress from dissh and it fits great but man, it’s also SO ITCHY!!! hate the price and how itchy some pieces are
I'm glad to see you declutter the men's bomber... would it fit your partner?
I might be alone, but i was like Not the Ref striped sweater!!!! I was inspired to buy one because of you. I got a small because they are huge! Im going to wear mine on my shoulders and embrace my 25% French self, lol. If you have a ribbed Jackie in black, i think the Ref boyfriend would look nice around your shoulders with that. You might like the Dana Ref crews better. They are a tighter neckline. I have one in the opposite bkack/white stripe (more black, little white stripe) snd reach for it a lot.
