  • Here is a rare version of the famous Yugoslav Air Force song, Hej Vojnici, Vazduhoplovci, sung by Dragan Lakovic. There is another uncommon version also sung by Lakovic, but accompanied by a children's choir rather than the band of the JNA.

Most of planes seen in this video are either destroyed, got used by Croats or serbs during the war, its really sad to see that such strong Air force was used by itself

About the aircraft featured.....MiG-29s and J-22s are still in service because they are fairly modern....Gazelles are still in service as AT platforms but being replaced.....the rest are in Belgrade Aviation Museum near Belgrade Intl. Airport or rotting on various junk yards because they were junk from day 1 but pressed into service as there was no other alternative

The JNA had an impressive number of craft (around 20 mig 29s, 250 mig21s) no doubt if the JNA went into the 21st century we would have many modern craft

@@interkast3040 Serbia took it to them and used it 1990-1999 ,
Croatia managed to capture few planes bud bought most from USSR, Hungary , Romania , DDR
Slovenia captured very few planes and doesnt use them because of the lack of spare parts, same goes for Bosnia and Macedonia
Montenegro stayed in third federal republic of Yugoslavia ( not connected with Socialist one) and after the end of third Yugoslavia that was covered name for Serbia , it dissolved in 2003 and Montenegrins got few planes.
Most of those planes were used against Bosnia and Croatia , and later against NATO pact in 1999
Serbian airforce today still consists of 60-70% planes that were left from the war

Macedonia returned the aircraft and other equipment to Serbia so that we wouldn’t get invaded.
