From an ex member of the UK RAF , but who's family where navy , I've heard of the dreadnoughts, seen the old footage , but seeing the last giant lady at sea even though she was being towed was awe inspiring. To think of all the brave sailors who served on her , and the enemies she has faced. And she's still here. Respect to the Texas. May your Restoration bring you back to us. Good speed lady.
❤ Bless you great lady. You and your crew defended us against evil in WW1 and WW2. Navy family here. My dad born in 1900 would be thrilled to see her rescued. He was Navy WW2. God bless America!!
So you went in 54 .Go to the drydock. Tell them your story and I'm sure someone will let you on her . I went on the North Carolina in 88 and have to get there soon
Hello, under her own power she would sound a little bit like this. It's possible the U.S.S. Texas and R.M.S. Titanic shared identical engines. UA-cam video" Kempton Park Big Triple Steam Engine Starting
There aren't words for to express what awe this ship evokes .. I won't even try... I'll just stand and salute with gratitude and honor for her and all her crew!! Man!! it would nice to hear and see her under her own power... It would be nice indeed

OMG! When she sailed under the bridge I broke out in tears I'd been holding since they first tugged her from her from the dock. Her "sailing" again so awesome. She's so beautiful, and everyone of you men working to protect her, bring her back, and keep her safe are to be applauded for the heros you are. God bless you all. ❤❤
I must admit when I saw the Texas coming out of the San Jacinto area into the ship channel and saw the picture of the American Flag in the breeze, I had tears in my eyes. That was beautiful! Thank You so much for this great video.
I was born long after she was decommissioned but that matters none. What a prideful emotional feeling seeing her gracefully cutting through the water. Launched in 1912 ( I think) and still with us!! God bless all who sailed on her..built her and those keeping her majestic poise!
She may no longer be capable of moving on her own power, but USS Texas still conveys the power and majesty of a big-gun battleship that once ruled the seven seas. Fear God and dread naught, indeed.
As a former sailor just seeing this old battle wagon on the water is majestic. I've been onboard Texas many times but this is unique, a glimpse of a warship in its glory.
Texas looks so awesome coming at ya. We have to give a big shout out to the tugboats! They skillfully towed and wheeled her into that dry dock making it look easy.
Not quite "bone in teeth," but I still thought that was amazing. Congrats on successful dry-docking. As a Texan, I thank you for all your efforts to preserve the ship.
Wow, some of the best and most impressive footage of the(/a?) museum battleship. The drone camera work with other boats boating around and people crawling all over the structure really creates an amazing perspective and sense of scale and chonk.
I love the Battleship TEXAS...!!! Always have. From the moment I saw her in pictures, then in "person" as a child. I know. It's weird. I just seem so connected with the ship. THANKS for sharing such great footage! Especially of going under the bridge. That was very cool... Epic! Thank you so much!
Beautiful. Thank you. Sure would of liked to be on one of the tugs hugging and guiding Texas. She, to me, stands also for the USS Houston lying at the bottom of the sea. And the silver set presented to her by the children of Texas - purchased by taking up a collection from the public and working jobs. Keep saving the battleships - to remember what honor and sacrifice for freedom was like.
Greeting from the UK, awesome to watch and thankful she is going to get some love and care over the next few months, great job and respect for all that have worked hard to make it happen.
The HD presentation really makes it just that much more enjoyable to view - A real treat to watch - THANKS! - going to visit Her again when She finds her final resting place.
Some very nice camera work in this. That aerial view of the passage under the bridge is particularly epic. Man, what a stressful day at the office that must have been for those tugboat drivers.
The music really made this video enjoyable and how fitting it sounded for the last dreadnought in the world. The battleship Texas takes the slogan of, Don't Mess With Texas, to a whole new level. Great job. Bravo 👏. I would hope that her battle awards and purple heart are painted on her skin, like other modern ships and fighters get.
Thankfully she's funded, unlike so many others that are rotting away. Workers are slowly, but steadily chipping away at her rot to restore her. You can buy a piece of her original armor to help fund her survival.
This aging former USAF SSgt has misty eyes. Men of my grandparents' generation of the family served in the US Navy, a few on Battleships, such as the USS Massachusetts. It is an act of reverence to their sacrifice to preserve and conserve these monuments.
I really enjoy seeing these ships moving. I know its very complicated and expensive. Having her travel to cities every few years would be great for the spirit and the soul. All of them. Move them as sooner or later we will lose them.
Thankfully the U.S was wise enough to save one of their dreadnoughts for future generations to discover. These ships where monuments of great power, technological advances and prestige. There will be nothing like it again.
We must protect the last of it's kind at all cost!!!! Its such a shame tbh that UK the first nation who developed the so called Dreadnought didn't preserve one of their own BB.
I threw together a piece of the start of the journey with the music from Star Trek II when Enterprise leaves Space Dock and it was a beautiful thing. Wish I had the means to make it as professional looking as this.
Stunning footage. I watched live nearly the whole time. I'm still waiting for some cool pictures of the Texas passing behind the USS Cavalla and USS Stewart at Seawolf park
4:45 is a great shot with the bulk just iceberging into the frame horizontally. you could really cut a whole bunch of great youtube shorts and tiktoks from this video.
I’m sure the builders of this wonderful battleship back in 1912 would have never believed that their societies great grand children would be tending and rebuilding her tired but beautiful structure.
We are not so remote from the builders. My father was born 8 years later in 1920. During the second world war his army job description was "signals radio intelligence". Today my daughter is U.S. Navy and her job description is "signals radio intelligence".
Future Generations Needs to see this, how Bravery wasFought , and Remain as …. Legacy to even the lowest to the highest… We can be a Team… Let’s go Home.
If it's this impressive seeing her moved by tugs, I can only imagine what she was like under her own power. As someone that's only discovered/been introduced to Mighty T in the past few months, could someone point me in the direction of the full audio of the speech being made in the video introduction? I'd love to hear it!
Though I wish other dreadnoughts were spared too: I'm happy the Taxes is still intact, she was there when we needed her and while highly unlikely she'll be there when we need her again.
@@BattleshipTexas Understandable, given cost constraints. I'm sure if more funds were available it would be possible to restore her to her original condition. Thanks for doing all that you do!
3:54 This is the closest we'll ever be to seeing through our grandparents' eyes. This is an incredible sight, it feels like the Texas is still at war. Or at least that she's raring and ready to go.
When will we see drydock footage ???? Would be nice to see the inside work and closer look at the outside work being done. Like they did with USS Cod we saw work progress..
Foam removal is done from inside the tanks and there's no way to record that. Some cutting has been done to the forward part of one blister but it's not enough to make a video out of quite yet. Please be patient. We will have more on the repairs throughout this entire process. If you would like to read updates and view pictures please check out our Facebook or Instagram. Thanks.

Don't mess with Texas! The Grim Yeeter Herself! BB-35!
Well said, my guy.
And to think of all the battles she was in. Only one man perished on her decks in battle.
They need to make her fully operational again and modernize her with new equipment so she can once again serve her nation with pride

Think about this: while being towed, USS Texas (BB-35) was the fastest battleship in the world (Even at 4 knots~ish).
Twas 7 knots, She was the fastest Battleship afloat in 2022.
