- This geometry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into triangle similarity. it explains how to use two column proofs in order to prove if two triangles are similar using the mostly the AA postulates. Other triangle similarity postulates mentioned are the AAA, SSS, and SAS postulates. Theorems used in this video include the base angle theorem, theorems associated with parallel lines, alternate interior angle theorem, vertical angles, reflexive property, definition of an altitude, right angle congruence, and more. This geometry video contains plenty of examples and practice problems on triangle similarity.

Much helpful than my boring math teacher, I lack motivation and with boring classes I can't focus. Thanks alot!
The teacher replied: what did you just say?
Yeah my teacher is kinda boring
Same here
Teacher: Jit, I don't care. I'm not paid enough for this
There all the teachers be here for the pay check and put bare minimum effort to not get fired smh
If anyone is confused at 22:00, he wrote “sides” but meant “angles.”
Thanks
this yt channel is my savior, no annoying intros or unnecessary stuff, right to the point and does a very good job explaining :)))

MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for another great video/lecture on Triangle Similarity, Postulates, Proving Similar Triangles and Two Column Proofs. All these topics worked together side by side in Geometry. Using theorems. postulates, and definitions over and over will only improve my understanding of Geometry.
everyone is understanding this and then theres me just not knowing wtf goin on 🙃
sameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
you aint alone
I dont get how I'm not stupid but I just dont understand anything

I'm here.
this guy really helped me in my science and math
"i seem to forgot the letter E here"

*haha*
the triangle was DEF, he accidentally wrote DF so he changed the F to an E and then added the F after it to make it DEF
I’ve always wanted to tell you thank for your amazing videos. Especially with physics so thank so much❤️.
He is really amazing
This is really a good coaching material going step by step... thank you for your excellent presentation, it helps a lot...
Thankyou sir i was crying with depression untill boom i remembered ur youtube channel and rushed searched for this topic and here i am laughing at my past self and thakyou again sir for all ur help❤
My teacher talks a lot during classes and doesn’t explain much, so thanks for the videos mate! I really appreciate it.
When a chemistry student explains math better than your maths teacher
So real
You did an ample demonstration of this topic and I'm very much thankful of you because here in India , board exams are not too far from getting under my nerves and i really needed an explanation quintessential to yours.
thank you so much! keep up the great content 👏🖤
Literally saved my bloody life! Thank god man! Truly appreciate it
This was sort of confusing but cleared everything up thanks.
Idk why but where ever I need a quick refresher he always has something
What a great video. Really helps with homework and studying thanks so much
we love the interesting pauses... like - "calculatin'.....de ratio"...(more pause)
I really liked your step by step explanation and your pronunciation
i have a grading exam tomorrow and im back with this vid again bc i forgot coz of christmas break
Thanks for an actual good video with explanation. Good job.
very clear and helpful 😀🌸
This helped a lot........thanks
1:52 Correction: ∠A is congruent to ∠D not ∠C
Well he is trying to go as fast as possible and thinking on the spot.
Hey sir where you wrote angle A = angle C there it was angle A = Angle D in second postulate.

Then what is the purpose of AAA if you can already know it by only doing AA
Because Math
Because math
Cuz exams
AA is derived from AAA ..it means when 2 angles are equal then the third angle will be (180- sum of 2 angles) which will be equal in both the triangles ...so if AAA postulate is proved automatically AA is also done.which is similar to ASA and AAS ...
because math
Yes ad... I am searching UA-cam for math help... And yes... His videos are helping

Is corresponding sides of similar triangles congruent or proportional? If proportional ,so why you said that corresponding sides of similar triangles are congruent.
You are correct. It was meant to be similar as congruent means equal in all proportions, be it length or angle.
Why do you write the two congruent sides like a fraction? Is it just to show that the sides are congruent? 3:16 - 3:33
Edit: Do you write the biggest number of the congruent sides on top?
the sides not congruent they "corresponding" cause this is all similarity. so its read like a fraction pretty much "one side over the other side" or like a ratio. we say when the triangles are similar that sides are proportional -- which is why we write the ratio. it doesnt matter which goes on top or bottom, as long as you do the same on the other side of the =
It’s because for example we know the length of the sides like unit eg 5, 10 anything like that
So we divide the corresponding sides and we do that for all the sides if we get the same answer
They are similar
Eg AB is 12
BC is 18
AC is 30
And
DE is 6
EF is 9
DF is 15
If we divide them by the corresponding sides which are AC corresponds to DF. AB corresponds to DE
And BC corresponds to EF we divide and the answer is 2 so the triangle is similar
Great
*sorry what*
Lakey Lake so he’s like explaining ways to proof how these triangles are similar
@@masamune9082 I hate geometry
They similar bc you draw them at same size.
Studying for the final I have in my next class
damm bro thankssss help alot
i still dont know how to know whether the traignle is congruent or not
in 2:12 did he meant A=D instead of A=C??
Yeah 😂
I got my final for geometry in like two hours so I needed a refresh 😭
7:40 for the triangle one: what if you were asked to find the area of ABDE because I'm really drugging with finding it? 😭😭
At 2:20 does he mean similar?
I’ve lost enough brain cells
for 8:51 you can also use aa bc angle B= angle E (corresponding)
no
At 22:04, shouldn't "corresponding -sides- of similar triangles are congruent to each other" be "corresponding angles of similar triangles are congruent to each other" because if they're similar the sides shouldn't be the same length. I'm confused 😕
yeah it was a a slip up what you thought is correct
At 25:45 isn’t it AAA and not AA . Someone plz help!
We only need 2 angles.
If 2 angles are equal then the third angle is automatically equal
so,instead of AAA we just take AA
ty babe
is it an error on AA angle A ≈ angle C?
You could solve it that way but A dose not = C. Angle BED = C because parallel line means corresponding angles that are =. And then AA
2:10 it should be
The SSS side similarity postulate(?). Well, it is the fact that triangle that is dilated (up or down about its centroid) or scaled becomes similar to the original untouched triangle, that is not a postulate is a definition.
Well done sir but next time don't use dark blue🔵🔵 colure. 👌ok
Frying Pan says thank you
How come for congruency statements you had to prove all 3 angles were equal(AAA theorem) and not just 2 like now???
Congruence proves that the triangles are exactly the same similarity proves they share the same angles they could be completely different sizes but have the same angles
John Ramos but even with all three angles you can’t prove they are congruent and AAA was a congruency statement I thought
SNKRhead Games that’s why there are no Triple A’s it doesn’t prove congruence like SAS AAS and others AAA doesn’t exist it’s only AA similarity but you can definitely use congruent statements to prove two triangles similarity
Nice sir can you please make it more proper
Thanks you really help me. But I gotta say I'm still confused.

You predicted the one I'm answering hahahah
Ok i am reading an entire book and i have only 1 day to cover it ...it took ppl 1 year to learn it while i have to study it alone in 1 day ...HOW UNFAIR IS THIS WORLD
Why.......
In AA postulate sir u wrote angle A = angle c instead of amgle d
1:55 there should be angle A = angle D not angle C....if any body is confused
Then y do we need AAA criterion? IF AA criterion can prove all angles are equal
AAA is for triangles with no sides or angles the same (scalene). AA is for triangles with 2 sides or angles the same (isosceles).
No.... He's right we don't need AAA... If we have AAA, it's great. But if we have just two angles we can use AA for that because the third angle will obviously be same so it becomes AAA
because math

How angle a is congruent to angle c. 1:55
