Poopy pants or not, YOU MADE YOUR OWN CLOTHES and that’s amazing. They all look great. I love the Long shirt dress, the blazer and the jeans. And the cardigan. And the....you get the point. Great job, Mimi. If you can, please do a sew along for the jean jacket. You were giving a lot of tips that flew over my head at top speed. I’m ready to bring the 90’s back with a cross colors type of denim jacket and some shorts with suede patches on the front.
I don't know who thought that those joggers looked like "poopy pants" but the are SOOO DOPE to me! I have that same crushed velvet fabric in my Stash and have been looking for the perfect project for it. Thank you MiMi G for helping me find it! That track suit and maxi shirt dress are my fav's. You've given me inspiration to start tackling my stash with these projects!
I absolutely love these shows, they make me want to sew everything....this one especially just opens my eyes to sewing regular stuff. Love this ...thanks Mimi
They are all wonderful but my faves are the Houndstooth and denim Jackets and the Cardigan. I guess I love your outerwear skills. lol. I got your PDF pattern for the Annie cardigan and I'm going to give it a try. I have never sewn with sweater knit before, so wish me luck!
Fabulous makes Mimi! I love them all. The tracksuit fabric is gorgious. Lovely berry colour. I also loved the textures of your hoodie. Great way of using thinner prices of fabric & doubling them up. I have a few of those that I thought were online buying failures . Now I just see them differently. A great opportunity to use them up. I feeling inspired! Xxx
You did it! You should be proud. This was an awesome video/blog. I enjoyed all the pieces, and you make me want to sew my own stuff. I can’t wait to see what next month brings! Happy sewing!
Washing denim (or any fabric) with just a can of plain regular classic coke softens it right up. It won't make it sticky or wreck your machine, it just makes it softer. And if you feel like it's still not soft enough, keep doing it until it feels the way you want it to. You will not believe how well this works! Thank you for the video! Super cute stuff!
Hi Mimi G, Brenda G. here, I just wanted to share With you just how talented you are in so many area's of The fashion industry. You're so real and I love how all you're make's are so flattering on you. My questions; what is your suggestion for a good but (middle class) affordable sewing machine? What patterns would you suggest for a 64 year old that has problems with clothing not fitting well, especially around the middle and the bust. Due to health issues I have a difficult time with wearing proper undergarments, therefore I don't look organized or put together. I really want to make myself a basic wardrobe of mix and match item's but I have no ideas of what fabrics and patterns to use. Please would you consider giving me some advice. Yes I do sew. Thank you for you're videos and sewing tips. You're a Joy to watch and listen to. Brenda G.
Absolutely amazing work! You are so talented. Even your knock around clothes are so detailed! I’ve been sewing since I was a teenager, but I’m learning so much from you.
Love love love your Free People inspired shirt. I’m buying your patterns especially the long shirt dress! And the T-shirt dress! Gotta have the jump suit!!
WOW no wonder you are so proud. Fantastic idea, great job and all from your stash. I was smiling all the way through you, I'm sure it was because you are so happy with your makes. Love watching you. ☆☆☆ x
I love your office. Very nice. Just watched your home tour from 4years ago. I also love the Tweed dress you made on your blog. Very nice. You have a lot of fabric to work with. Where did you learn to sew? Will def be watching more of your videos in the future. Hopefully I can take learning to sew and knit seriously at my spare time. I love how you recreate some clothings you bought from the store also.
Very impressive. I could make 10 of the same simple items in a month but to make all those different and often difficult items ... wow. My favourite is the houndstooth blazer/jacket.
Great job Mimi! This is a fabulous inspiring runway worthy collection. I have no doubt that you have put more young people in front of a sewing machine than one could imagine. P.s. Your top stitching is perfecto ...😉
Loved all your makes Mimi. Maybe you have heard this tip before, Peggy Sagers from Silhouette Patterns wash your denim in REGULAR COCA COLA. Just plain old coke. 1 whole can in your regular wash cycle that’s all. Repeat until it’s how you want it. Val🇨🇦
I was looking at the sewing channel's desperately trying to remember your channel name,as I have seen your videos before and you're sooo good!! Ahhhh yes!! Found you...and now I can dit and watch your beautiful work!!
You're unbelievable! lol I could barely get one item sewn in a week and you've made ten in a month. The long shirt dress, blazer and cardigan are my fave and what would wear the most. You're such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing.
I must say that from all your video's that I watch I'm just now noticing that you have color in your hair. If it new I love it! Wanted you to know your among my pupils of inspiration, and are a great teacher (virtually) and I've learned so much from you. I am just starting and watch your how-to's on your patterns. I hope to be as good as you. BTW....These pieces are really cute. I planned to do something just like this once I got going. Thanks! Zee
MIMI G you are so talented and I love your sew alongs. Could you please tell me where you buy your hardware for jean jackets and jeans? The jumpsuit is my favorite of your 10 makes.
This is so awesome! My fave is the trousers. I love the waistline! Definitely gonna have a go at those myself. I'm currently making my own jeans for the first time and boy did it take me a minute to get the pattern right but I'm ready to sew!!! Thank you for your amazing and informative videos. You are a goddess 💜
MIMI G can you do a tutorial on how to alter a pattern when you have a pooch in the front. All my pieces end up being too tight in the front. I want to make sure I am doing the alteration correctly
When you make your own clothes you feel so liberated, empowered and confident. I now go to the stores look at what they have and say "I can make that, no need to buy it" and guess what I am more in control of my money. I always have extra cash to take care of other things. Wouldn't mind if I could design and make my own shoe wear myself. 😀
Hi Mimi, I love the white cardigan and I’m wondering what the fabric is. You also have a long duster style cardigan (that you sewed in another video) that can be made with or without sleeves that is fantastic and would love to know where to purchase the fabric. Thanks a bunch.
PoisedbyLiyah On her blog she said she used Simplicity 8418 for the jacket and she self drafted her pants, but I think she has a video on how to make the drop crotch style pants here on UA-cam using your measurements. :)
So you stock up on fabric. How many yards do you usually get? I can understand getting it because you like it but what if you don't have enough for that perfect outfit. I love that long shirt dress.
Well done Mimi! I love the hounds tooth jacket too and the casual sweat suits. Do you have the pattern on the sweats....minus drop-seat? If not, where can I purchase pls? Excellent summer wear..loo
Wahoo! That’s so amazing! And they all look amazing!! It’s so inspiring to see all of your makes! One day I will be that good! Lol. Where do you find all of your amazing fabric? I love that hoodie so much! Was it self drafted? Please say there is a pattern for it!!! We only have Joann’s available to us and I’ve never really shopped online. I’m not very good and knowing what fabric is what yet.
How did I not know you had a channel? I love you! We're on a FB sewing group together. I'd love to attend your jeans workshop. When will you publish info on it?
Love the tracksuit even ordered the pattern, can you advise how you attached the satin side strip. Was it just sewed over the side seam or is it a inset panel. So inspired to make it now. You have really good eye on what fabric works well together. X
Hey I just first wanted to say you have inspired me to get back into sewing. With that I wanted to know if your patterns are pregnancy friendly lol. I’m four and a half months pregnant and your designs are so beautiful. I would love to wear and make them for myself. Thanks so much and ily
Mimi, when you buy fabric for your stash without a particular project in mind, how much yardage on the average do you end up buying in each print? Sometimes I like to go to the discount fabric store or when there is a good sale but I'm hesitant to buy because I don't want run out of a print when I'm mid project. thank you!!
Watching your videos has really inspired me to take that leap and learn to sew. I have always wanted to but just never did it. My only trouble is I am having a hard time in deciding what sewing machine to purchase. I am a complete beginner and they are so many out there that it's a bit overwhelming. Any suggestions from anyone would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
I had a hard time focusing because I was looking at your fabric "stash" 😲😲😲😲 your garments are beautiful which is no surprise
MsFredericks .True all that fabric stash lol
You are sew incredibly gifted at what you do. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garments!
The 1st item with the cowl neck that can be a hood was great. Love it!

Your classes are amazing. Thank you and I love the online academy! ♥️

Mimi you are so amazing. You have inspired me to start back sewing. I loved everything you made.
This is why you are my girl. You give me hope that one day I will be great at sewing like you!
Fabulous makes Mimi! I love them all. The tracksuit fabric is gorgious. Lovely berry colour. I also loved the textures of your hoodie. Great way of using thinner prices of fabric & doubling them up. I am always fearful of washing the fabric because i am afraid it will fade, I could understand denim but cottons is another story. lol
Brenda Wallgren I believe it. If it can remove rust, surely it can soften up fabric. What I can't believe is that ppl actually DRINK it!!
@@namastestrapped ROFL 😅
