Chasing someone for a block sounds like harassment to me.
And blocking someone who is hitting u and the other person gets hurt doesnt seem a case for a guilty verdict.
From what I understood, it was many blocks. If I'm not correct please jump in.
@@jamiejoygatto and she didnt really seem injured during the chase, unless it was adrenaline and anger.
It's definitely emotional when you find out your partner is cheating on you. Too bad the gentleman did not break up with her in an honorable way. None of this might have happened. He's just so big and tall compared to her. It seems easy to not-meaning-to harm her just from picking her up and putting her in the car like that. Everyone needs to keep their hands to themselves. Just IMHO.@@seedsoflove7684
Yup and imagine the outrage if the tables were turned
I would suggest that pushing someone away, back into a car, who just assaulted you is NOT harassment. BUT, going after someone by chasing them down the street, for blocks, and screaming and shouting at them.... that IS harassment!
Agreed!
Agree 1000%
Yes, my thoughts, exactly… why are you prosecuting the person RUNNING FROM the other person? I really feel for the guy… (and, am going to keep watching this video in hopes that maybe we’ll hear of her getting convicted of worse crimes than him!-especially after HE called the police on HER!)
@@1vonehrenkrookPlaying devils advocate here but 90% of people prosecuted are running at the end.
Lots of people flee after committing assault or theft it's not that unusual or difficult to argue to a jury.
@@VioletDeathRei I think the point is he cannot be accused of HARASSING her, if he's trying to get away from her... that's completely backwards!!
“I was reckless with her heart”
Interpretation: that is all this case is about. I broke her heart. She got her revenge. That’s what that answer was.
I completely agree.
This!
Exactly 💯 🤷🏽♀️
Yes, and ppl assessing his word choice in the interview, assessing his affirmative words about himself, he has said that if he wasn’t an actor he’d be an English teacher. Words matter to him. He also mentors and coaches, so the things he says about himself he teaches others. He’s probably been a bad boyfriend as he’s said, but I don’t believe anyone who says he’s violent.
Unbelievably lame response from a man who got caught abusing/ injuring his girlfriend
This shouldn’t have been a legal matter at all. They both went home afterwards and he called for help to save her life. This was a miscarriage of justice. If she wasn’t prosecuted then he shouldn’t have been prosecuted. Period.
If she felt good enough to party, get smashed, then go home and pass out, she didn't need cops. He should have woken her up, helped her get sober, and talked about breaking up like adults. Her mental health is not his problem.
She sent him a text alluding to self deletion. Causing him to run back home where he found her unresponsive. @clarkvaughan
@@He-Man_lovesthebox Wow. Now he's ruined.
@clarkvaughan Basically, yes. He called for help, after he had to get the maintenance man to get him into his locked bedroom. Mind you she was awake when he got there as she was in touch with her friend via text all morning. 15 min before they gained entry to the bedroom....
Basically she went for the sympathy card to resurrect their relationship. He panicked and called the paramedics thinking she was dying. She didn't expect that, she was naked in that closet with only a shirt on. He covered up her nakedness to preserve her dignity as she had a bunch of male police surrounding her.
5 mins in and I’m already “why the hell is this man being charged?”
I’m pissed they didn’t charge her!! Great video! Thanks Spidey and Nate!! Love both your channels!!
They charged her then dropped them. I don't know why though. They had a strong case for her
@@JessTalk , She wasn’t that scared. She ran after him to continue the fight. Both are at fault, and if one charged, they both should have been.
@JessTalk the issue is that you are talking about 2 separate incidents. He was in court for what happened on March 25th only. If he's brought up on charges in London, let the chips fall where they may.
The accuser said on the stand that the incident in March was the only time abuse took place. The text messages weren't about abuse. That was already stated by some lawyers covering the case that was actually in the courtroom. They were partially redacted, but from what she wrote, she wanted to get MORE pain medicine for an incident she was already seen for that wasn't abusive in nature according to her testimony. Who knows what happened? Truth is, to keep the reason vague helped her case more than his evidently based on her not fully explaining the whole story behind that message either, good or bad. The reason this unrelated message was even allowed in court will also be a point the defense will want to address in a possible appeal.@@JessTalk
They wasn't going to charge her anyways. she cried out them crocodile tears so hard and that's all she had to do to affect his life. One day black men are going to learn one conviction to late.
I was in a very abusive relationship with a man, and not once did I chase after that man to lead to him beating on me. Why was she chasing someone that’s clearly trying to get away from her?
Possibly codependency
@@tarynblackburn149 no, codependency makes you go back to that person when, after they beat you senseless, they beg you to forgive them, they did not mean it, they were provoked, they love you so much but they could not help them selves, it will not happen again, ..... An abused woman will not run after her abuser, on the contrary, she will try to hide until the abuser calms down and she feels it is is safe for her to came out. I believe what we are seeing is a scuffle, he cheated on her, she is angry and wants to confront him and he is trying to get away from the situation. He is three times as big as her so it looks scary, but I don't see fear (not in her anyway), she is definitely not afraid of him. And she partied the whole night and went back to his house?
@SiriKaktiki, thank you for spelling it out. Shes way out of control.
I think she hurt her finger, grabbing him. And straching his face and arms. (The jury didn't see those pictures.)
Or she got hurt when she was drunk and out partying.
@@tarynblackburn149
Man chases woman: "OMG THAT WOMAN IS IN TROUBLE! SOMEONE HELP HER"
Woman chases Man: "LOL, HE PROBABLY DESERVES IT."
That rhetoric has now officially entered into the court room because of the way the jury ruled. Is that true justice? Or an opinion, turned into a bias, which leads to discrimination based on gender?
Same perspective. Same thought.
I want the judge to ask her: WHY ARE YOU CHASING HIM?!
Because they already know the answer. Adrenaline, fight/flight. She wanted to confront him about the issue(his betrayal) and didn't realize she was injured yet. People get punched/assaulted and chase down thier attackers all the time.
@@josephinekelly5647Very well worded. When you notice a sign of betrayal you want answers and the adrenaline is flowing.
Im sure the judge did. They found him guilty for a reason.
I think this is a pursuer/distancer dynamic. She ran after him because she lost self control and was operating out of a fear of abandonment. She was highly triggered, so was he. She shouldn’t have lost it in the car, but once she did, she really should have stayed in the car. Pursuing him was bound to make it worse, but she had lost control of herself. I don’t excuse him getting physical with her. At the same time, none if it would have happened had she controlled her response to her strong emotions.
@@josephinekelly5647 Freeze, flight or fight. If she was scared and hit with adrenaline she went through to fight she didn't run away or stand in shock. That's very telling to me...
I catch myself smiling, when I get nervous, and in the most awkward moments.
In this case if the law is applied, it has to be applied to both parties.
Same here.
Ditto. I also laugh awkwardly.
Such a horrible injustice. He was convicted of something they never even proved. And she avoided any accountability. So corrupt. I hope the appeal goes his way and he sues her for assault and defamation.
Unfortunately I’m not sure if he can sue her for statements made in court, but anything like on social media is fair game
@@yellowpillNP It's not really about suing her for in-court statements, but for her assault and theft against him that was proven and admitted on the stand. I think with the NYPD charging and arresting her solely off this evidence, that gives his team a lot of ammo for suing.
@@zachcatanzareti oh I didn’t know she admitted to what she did on the stand. I don’t know much about those case
@@yellowpillNP Yeah she testified to hitting him in the arms and shoulder and ripping the coat buttons off his coat. All to get the phone from him. Then obviously chasing him for blocks.
Generally speaking, using technical, clinical terms to describe injuries can make them sound less serious. But to me, personally, the word "laceration" sounds much worse than a cut. A cut could be a paper cut; no one would use "laceration" to describe a paper cut, even though it's technically accurate.
My take is more English language related. Cut is can be used as a verb, (I cut her) Versus a laceration (noun). She had a laceration. You can use lacerated as a verb, but it's awkward and you have to change the form of the word. Laceration vs lacerated. I think the word choice shifts from an action (cut) to an observation (laceration). I think Nate touched on that.
@@nikkimiller200 yes! Good observation. But like @marydodsonmt , When I heard "laceration" , I thought of hospital and Dr.... It sounds more serious. Of course, It is also clinical and precise- if he's been guided to stick with evidence. But, you're right, it is definitely a more passive word.
I thought the same thing. Even though cut and laceration are interchangeable, laceration comes with more severe connotation, IMHO.
Yes they could have said minor laceration or even superficial laceration. I've seen ER write reports that way
I agree. For whatever reason, laceration, contusion, and abrasion always sound more serious than a cut, bruise, or scrape. Even though they are literally the same thing.
I’ve been waiting for this. Thank you Nate for the explanation of the charges… so in other words… the jury was confused like us… GOT IT.
😂😂😂
I am still confused I listen to this and I am still confused
No confusion.... he got railroaded, Period!
Congrats on 1M!!! Not only am I extremely happy for you, Spidey, but I'm so happy to know that there is such a large community of people that are invested in learning, in growing, and in developing critical thinking towards something that may not be all it appears to be.
I could not have said it better 🥰
Makes sense that someone would think before they talk especially because anything you say can be used against you in a court of law …
I would be asking the question… after he got away from her, she chased him and he said he ran for a long time. .. blocks!! Then… she met up with some people she met and she went to the club and “partied”. She eventually made her way back to their home and passed out in the closet. So why isn’t anyone saying the obvious. She partied enough that she came home and passed out in the closet. She could have very well injured herself while out partying before coming home or in trying to get home. She passed out in the closet! It’s likely she did it when she passed out!!! 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Stop. You're making too much sense.
That‘s actually right on point. Seeing her chasing him does not look like a bruised person about to black out.
I took his slow response in the beginning along with the continued glances down to his right as searching for the right words to describe the relationship. Because of the feelings he had, the actual incident and the legal repercussions of his word choices. ~ Night
I should have waited till the end to post. But one of the reasons I think they charged him, is because his injuries occurred behind the closed doors of the car. Video of him picking her up and putting her back into the car. I think easier to prosecute with that. I think that's also why the nervous laugh before discussing it. I think in hindsight, he realizes that was a bad move. Sort of a, look at that stupid move I made, kinda nervous laugh.
If he was arrested and charged, she should have been as well. The fact that she chased him, makes her more of the aggressor than him. The only reason this panned out the way it did, was he was a man. She got excused because she was a woman.
💯
I actually agree (and I am a woman.) I don’t see an abusive man in these clips. I see someone in an unhealthy relationship who is understandably angry that she took his phone. I see a woman who is pursuing him for blocks to continue a fight that he is trying to avoid or de-escalate. Is he maybe a bit full of himself? Yeah, but who in his position - successful Black man in Hollywood - would not be? You’ve got to have a bit of confidence, bravado, and/or ego to make it in that town.
Disney has got some ‘splainin to do about how they keep canceling big-name actors so publicly, but still allowing and even promoting toxic dynamics behind the scenes or with less-well-known actors. It feels very performative. Given that it’s Hollywood (they are literally about performing!), maybe I should be less surprised about that. But it’s still disappointing.
Could it not be self-defense putting her back in the car? She kept coming for him. She chased him for that phone.
Except didn't she chase him after he tried to put her back in the car? Not saying she's right, just clarifying the timeline. I could be wrong. I didn't play it back.
@nomoreexcuses7847
Yeah because that's how bad she wanted that phone. Her grabbing fot it in the first place was the initial assault. He jumped out the car to get away from her and she ran after him. Should he have given her the phone? She should have said let me see that. If he said no she should have left him.
@@nomoreexcuses7847 She did chase him after he put her back in the car, it's shown on the video.
@@blaiseblack7175this is exactly what toxic people gloss over. That the proper response to not trusting a partner is working on it in therapy or leaving, not chasing harassing hitting stalking or screaming. If someone acting sus in a relationship makes someone love their minds, they need treatment, not excuses.
@@JessTalk if someone a fraction of your size assaults you and steals your property, by law you are allowed to use normal levels of force to get your things back and defend yourself. And by normal levels of force, that means punches, kicks, pushes, etc. But not using deadly weapons.
I havent heard the full story. Thank you for covering this
Excellent discussion of the case and great insights into Majors' interview. I think what bothers most objective observers in this situation is the huge double standard regarding the actions taken by men as opposed to women. During the trial, she straight up admitted to physically assaulting him. *And* she is seen on video chasing and stalking him through the streets after the fight while he tries to get away from her. Yet somehow her propensity to use physical violence and intimidation against her domestic partner is not considered a danger to society? No. That doesn't make any logical sense to me. She is the real abuser here; end of story. Society only sees her as the sole victim because the actual injured party just happens to be a man.
With fewer words, less eloquently, I came to the same conclusion. Also why he hesitated answering the 1st question. He is covering for her, maybe he is in denial, maybe bc he is a man he doesn't want anyone to know. There is a state of delusion that the abused person can take on that literally protects the abuser, (even to the point of lying) from the consequences of their behavior. While I read your comment, a memory flashed of nasty Amber Herd and Johnny Depp. I think these are similar cases of the woman being the abuser.
I think “laceration” used instead of “cut” because “cut” is both a noun and a verb. If he says that she retained a “cut,” it’s almost too close to saying that he “cut” her
I was wondering why he didn't claim self defense since she stole his phone. I'm glad it was touched on during the discussion, although I think some people would have viewed this in a more positive light for Majors had he done so, Not sure if it would have saved his career though.
The lawyers were supposed to do that. They fumbled his case.
Self-defense requires an admission of guilt basically under the fact that your actions were legal and justifiable.
The Disney star would have had to admit to hitting her under oath which he clearly didn't want to do.
if you followed the case well, a claim of self defense wouldnt have gone down well in terms of consistency . so if you have the only witness which is the driver saying she was doing everything and he did nothing, claiming self defense seems to suggest that she took it and you fought to get it back. mind you, the driver was the prosecutors witness and not the defence
Yes !!!!! Thank you so much Spidey of taking my suggestion to break down his behavior!! Great video !!!
Where did you send the suggestion to-- in the comments or dm?
HAHAHA... Yeah !
I think he chuckles at 'I pick her up' because it's an unusual thing to do to another adult in that situation. I think he feels a bit embarrassed because it highlights the strength & size differences between them. It almost infantalises her & I think that makes him uncomfortable.
I could be way off though. I know nothing about this guy
Nate is amazing, appreciate him giving context! Women need to be held accountable for their part in these situations.
Not "women." Just the woman who did this.
But I don’t think she was held accountable
Her charges were dropped…why???
@@seliamcdonald3441 No idea, happens a lot. Women get away with these things too often.
@@mewho6199 Those who didn't understand what I meant I've edited it. Yes in this situation, this woman.
@@seliamcdonald3441Most likely because they needed her testimony to prosecute him and she refused until her charges were dropped. They went after the bigger fish. Her injuries were far more severe. He honestly could’ve killed her slamming her head against the door. It wasn’t intentional but it was most certainly reckless and irresponsible.
You guys, that was such a thorough video! Nate, thanks for all the input, I learned a lot from this! Spidey, youn have the best guests on your channel! IMO Majors should have admitted to whatever happened, it would have been better for him, he would have seemed honest, a human who found himself in a situation he didn't want to and reacted to it the way he did. But him refusing to admit it made this situation so much worse for him and I don't know how he can make it better after this. The retrieving of his property could have gone so much better in court, and I believe that that is what happened but why on Earth didn't his defense team go with that in the first place?
I agree with you but they mentioned he’s being cautious to not give too much info and not make himself an a abuser.
Yeah. I think admitting what happened would have at least made him seem upfront to the public but I think Disney would have still dropped him because even if he was honest and it was legally justified, he committed abuse. And they just may not want to be anywhere around that. I think his plan was a Hail Mary. Just get rid of the whole thing.
@@TheBehavioralArts do we think then that his defense team proposed the idea which he could have gone with and won in court, but he insisted that it would be best to just ignore the whole thing and they had to go with his wishes?
She went after him, he tried to remove himself and she followed....
Facts. What’s interesting is people saying how much he could have done better in this situation. It truly shows me how the value system works.
From a situation he created

an hour long video from Spidey?? I AM SO READY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank you for all of your hard work 🙏🏻
As a woman who grew up in the Women’s Liberation movement of the 60s and 70s, I’m always disappointed when women are not afforded those rights we worked for. And those rights include the negative views as well as the positive. Stop putting us on that pedestal and treat us as you would if we were a man. In these legal situations. (Socially is different.)
So look at it as if it as if it were two men. Even though she is the smaller of the two, she is the aggressor. He tried to push her away, granted back into the car, and clumsily. He tried to leave and she followed. And once they were no longer together, he is not responsible for her actions.
Or look at it as two women in a cat fight over a phone. I have sisters and my smaller sister would always start the scuffles by doing things like this. And because I was larger and stronger, no matter how hard I tried, she occasionally got hurt as I worked to get my stuff back and to stop her from hitting me.
So bottom line, both or neither need be prosecuted.
I have so many thoughts and emotions about this. First of all, I love the analysis Spidey. I didnt even know of this case (I live in a news bubble I guess), but I watch your videos about anyone though bc I love your takes on everything.
My biggest take away is the 911 call. I completely understand why he would have been over-explaining. With the internet, crime dramas, news, etc, most people arent stupid, especially someone who deals with the public image. We can immediately know how things look. We all know spouses and partners are first to be suspects in any murder, crime, etc. We know parents of missing kids get interrogated. I once turned in my two weeks notice at a job. I came in the next day and computer files had been deleted. People were asking for my help but I immediately walked to the break room until the IT guy could assess the situation. I KNEW I would be blamed and I wasn't going within 10 feet of a computer until the IT guy could diagnose the situation. And sure enough, I was immediately blamed. Was I guilty bc I knew how bad it looked for me? No. I'm just not stupid.
I love seeing Nate on the channel! ❤
She’s running after him. Obviously she wasn’t scared of him. 🤦🏻♀️
Or dependent on him?
@@seedsoflove7684after he "abused" her?!
His problem is that he didn't go full Katt Williams
I have questions- my big one being, was he hurt putting her back in the car? Or was he hurt inside the car before trying to leave, and being pursued in a way that he feels the need to physically try to restrain her. And failing that, to literally run away to try to escape her. And then to have her in his home the next day- so he stayed out all night to try and deescalate further- in a way that requires him to call the police essentially on himself. Which as a white woman her age, she KNOWS is dangerous for him as a black man, before the state of her is brought up. And to pass out in his closet either takes incredible stupidity a la an abuser willing to get hurt in the pursuit of hurt or faith that he would not intentionally hurt her when he returns to HIS home. I don’t victim blame- but as a survivor I’m seeing red flags in her behavior more than his actually.
Also a DV survivor. I'm definitely seeing inconsistency in her version of things
Excellent analysis, Spidey and Nate. Now I understand what happened with him and all the quotes and opinions were out of context. That lady should've been charged. She chased him and was the aggressor. While he does have a big ego, he is also hypersensitive to how he is perceived as a Black man which may have caused him to be misunderstood. It's not fair that he was prosecuted and she wasn't. He was acting in self defense.

Nate the Lawyers analysis of the “I Am Somebody” affirmations comparison Majors placed on himself was great because it was the only criticism I had of what he said in that interview. Majors ‘acts’ in movies, those other men were ‘real’ leaders of men for the people, not their bank accounts.
Exactly, Majors thinks he is greater than he is, and only bc if his personal achievement, not bc of what he has done for others.
And i dont even like him as an actor, so he has done nothing for me watching marvel or whatever.
@@seedsoflove7684 So if someone aspires to be more than just what they do for their 9to5 they are out of line? This guy went from homelessness to Yale, what other important black men is he gonna look up to? The dudes that invented Peanut Butter and the Super Soaker? C'mon now.
@@Au_four_1 looking up to and striving to be like incredible men vs comparing yourself to incredible men are two very different things. Nate is awesome! FYI, I was introduced to " Nate The Lawyer" channel through your channel Spidey. 🤗
Good analysis and Spidey I love how much research you put into each of them especially showing the comparison of Jesse Jackson and how Jonathan spoke. I do want to contradict Nate in when he said this wasn’t racially biased because the DA was black. That does not excuse the motivation and sometimes is quite the opposite. Some blacks are more harsh on other blacks because of underlying animosity. You see that with black cops and goes back through history. Why DIDNT he prosecute the girl? There was more evidence against her to be charged. My gut tells me if she was black he would have charged her.
Nate! Always love this collab!
🌹Just a thought... If he went to a hotel it would be easy to verify his movements. What if she though, decides to have a few drinks, maybe too many. She very well could have simply fallen into the closet, which could account for both the hand injury and the 'laceration' (which I think he uses to make the distinction between an accidental injury vs an intentional cut from a knife). So he goes back home in the morning, can't find her and assumes she left, goes to the closet to retrieve his things and finds her there. If she passed out in the closet she most likely will not remember how she got there.
(P.S. - I'm now subscribed to Nate the Lawyer 😉) ☘️🌹
C. Very strongly feel he was trying to retrieve his property.
I love listening to your shows on Saturday mornings.
Love the conversation about his kind of “performance” in the interview. You talked about the distancing and I think that’s definitely a big part of it, but I also think there’s a part of it that’s a “performance of self”. All of us are performing (to a degree) on a daily basis, sometimes people describe it as being “on”. For actors, sometimes we take it further and it becomes a persona as opposed to just being a “happy face” kind of thing. I think he was putting on a persona in this interview. Not to be deceptive, but because I think he may have been uncomfortable doing this interview as himself. It’s a vulnerable situation he’s talking about, and for actors (especially those who are more shy or introverted) it helps to take on a different persona (sometimes change of speech pattern, way we carry ourselves, facial expressions, etc.) to get through it. That in and of itself is distancing. Idk if any of this made sense lol, but I picked up on the “overacting” when I first watched the interview and it bugged me, but then I realized sometimes have those moments where I’m more comfortable performing than being vulnerable as myself
26:07 YES, the persona slipped for a second
We ALL mask! How we behave with our coworkers vs our old friends vs close family vs the service industry vs our grandma vs young children.... Because we are all most vulnerable when we are our true candid self.
Omg!!! I’m so excited for this video 😂😂😂 okay let me watch now 😂
Spidey, THANK YOU for including Nate on this! And for recognizing on your own what some of us have shared - that alternative perspectives & cultural insight is important in some analyses. Love this!
Looking forward to this analysis. I'm starting off thinking he was misjudged but we'll see how I feel afterwards.
I finished the video and very much agree that this is a result of gender bias. If it was two women involved I don't think the DA would've pressed any charges at all.

@@valiakloeppel7252 it was her right hand. The hand she had a death grip on him when he shook free from her to run (its in the video). It very likely could have gotten injured then, and they didn't remember because of adrenaline.
Since sfe was holding onto him while he was getting away that counts as assault, and him shaking free a defensive action, so not assault in that instance.
You do realize had he simply not tried to man handle her back into the car likely nothing would’ve happened to him and he might’ve been able to press charges against her. Why can’t anyone see that? If he wasn’t famous people would be able to clearly see how reckless his behavior was and would’ve crucified him for hitting her head on the door and grabbing and crushing her hands to stuff her in. Glad the former police officer called out the gender issue at play here. Because he's a man, his injuries weren't worth prosecuting. Because she was a woman, hers were.
thank you so much for posting the video I always have an amazing experience here on your channel and the the things I learned is always called into action when you allow us as the viewers to actively participate allowing us to see it affirmed as we interact with your.
I'm glad that you and Nate are doing collaborations and it's true that Nate should consider ways that he can have you on his channel too. He does some powerful short (10-12 minute) fact-based vids that can concisely put you in the picture on a particular story. He's really a good guy.
The audio of his I'm a great man speech made me mentally go back to a very toxic relationship with an ex. I dont feel he was trying to inspire her, he was putting her down. He was telling her that she wasn't worthy of being his partner. If you are trying to inspire someone, you tell them how great they are , not yourself. This was a mental conversation, having her question her worth. But, just the vibe i got. It really made my skin crawl.
I never never like it when anyone does this, you don’t talk like that, let somebody else do that, only in my opinion a person like God should say that.
I could definitely see it that way. And I can also see it like she was being abusive towards him and that’s why he was telling her that because of her personality he had to find somebody better if she didn’t wake up.
He's educated, he is intelligent, but it doesnt make your smart.
Totally agree. It made me feel sick. Ego, narcissism, wow, not good.
Everyone missed the point of her always being drunk, and that was the root cause of the argument.. I guess men having standards is a sign of abuse I guess?
I love Nate the lawyer. Two of my fave guys together. Great video
been waiting for this.
It is so cold is Virginia 😂😂 high in the 20s today. Thanks so much for covering this especially adding the cultural perspective.
I obviously don't know what happened in the car, but everything I saw outside the car, was him trying to get away from her! He didn't stay and beat her ass or punch her, he ran away, as if he was being hurt and need to get away. Hollywood needs to mind their business and that woman needs to be put on trial for abusing him, period! I'm a female who runs a nonprofit to assist victims and survivors of domestic abuse and from what I've seen, which isn't much, I would say that she's at fault, not him.
Plus, that he chose to spend the night in a hotel instead of facing her at their home…he wanted to de-escalate the situation and not put himself in harms way
@@grnddesign exactly!
@@grnddesignhotel??
I disagree. Running away from someone on its own indicates very little in the way of guilt or innocence. That's a silly, silly reason to come to your conclusion and as someone who works in the field I am disappointed that you are not accounting for mental and emotional and verbal abuse. If you work in the field as you say you do, you would be able to speak to the fact that the victims of abuse may act in ways that, to outsiders, may make them look like the unstable or abusive ones. Shame on you turning this into a black-and-white situation knowing your supposed background.
@@thesingerintheshower I can't speak to anything other than what I saw, period. Could their be emotional, psychological, sexual, financial, isolation and all of the forms of abuse? YES! There very well could be. But it's just as likely it's coming from her!
And I said I'm my comment, "based on what I saw, which wasn't much" hoping to make myself clear that I don't know enough about this particular case to make a full statement. However, him running away and staying away for the night indicates that he was not abusing her at that time. As a matter of fact, it rather indicates that he been through something like this with her before and rather than go home to continue the nonsense, he chose to stay away.
Shame on you for not reading my comment on while and only picking what you wanted to see.
I’m feeling uncomfortable with the analysis. He is a regular man who does experience racism and has an outlook based on those experiences. He probably wishes he could experience the world “in the moment,” too. But he can’t. He’s cloaked in guilt because he’s 1. A man 2. He’s black.
I don’t think he should have been charged. Also, he probably does love her, AND he needs her support to help him become great. And frankly he IS great! He is 100% a leader and role model, and we can’t say he isn’t legendary.
Finally, cancel Disney👎🏻
Fantastic analysis from you both - I was sad to realise it was the end of the conversation. 👍🏻 And congrats on the well deserved 1M!! 🎉
Yesss! I was waiting for this one. Thank you ❤
Don’t say to kids ‘don’t ask for sweets’ as you walk into a shop. They weren’t thinking of sweets until you mentioned them but now they are 😂 (yes I see the irony I said don’t at the start of this sentence).
Alternatively, if you want to mess with someone say ‘don’t turn left’ when they need to go right. There’s a good chance they will go the wrong way.
I wonder if it should always be specified that the conviction was for unintentional assault and harassment? Would that make a difference to the public when reporting?
As always, a really interesting and enlightening analysis of human behaviors by both Spidey and Nate. I am becoming more and more a fan. I do have a question I've been wondering about for a while, Spidey. What is up with your lighted bookcase and ladder background with the heart on the wall? One of your associates also uses a similar background. Why did you both choose that? What are you trying to subliminally convey to your audience? Should I go and try to find the same bookcase? Will it help my life? Thanks again!
😊
She was being petty and then regretted it. You all would not be having this conversation if that woman was black and you and Nate know it.
She is isn't she?
Nevermind, must be his new girlfriend
So if we flipped it and Majors was white and the woman was black, it would be more racial than gender in a NY minute no doubt. Let’s face it black women (more than other race of women)are not looked in a favorable light in situations like this, more so than black males.
In your opinion, would she be charged as well if she was black? Is it the woman pressing charges here?
Are you saying, if she was black, she would be more likely to own up to her responsibility here and less likely to claim victim hood?
Unfortunately, the court of public opinion is calling him a woman abuser because of him being found guilty for reckless harassment.
Yeah. Regardless of what happens in court, he can’t win this in the court of public opinion
@@TheBehavioralArts according to the patriarchy and the dominant misogynistic views of our society, I think he can and he will.
I find him guilty of a superiority complex for comparing himself to Barack Obama 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😅😅😅😅 lmfaoooo
I’m supposed to be taking a nap before my next work shift 😩 but I need to watch this 😅
😂😂 I’m sure it will be worth it
😂 Have a nap the video will wait on ya❤
@@NicolaMaxwell I was too excited 😭I watched 7 minutes and was like okay girl take ya butt to sleep and watch it later lol.
I’m more interested in you analyzing Grace Jabari and her lying under oath!
I am as well 😮
Yeah Nate is back.
Love your content…you remind me of Vincent D’Onofrio’s character , detective Goren, in Law and Order Criminal Intent. The way his character reads body language and personalities to help him solve crimes is right in tune with what you do. You are also giving your D’Onofrio vibes. Very handsome ☺️
Wow other than putting her back in the car, and it doesn’t look like he realized he had hurt her at all in the moment but he seems to be running away from her the whole time it frustrates the crap out of me what was he to do (other than not putting her back in the car). She should have been charged!
or none of them should have been charged. I believe he was treated unfairly.
Exactly. It was handbags. This was a witch hunt. Black celebrities are used to this ridiculous treatment.
@@SiriKaktiki Facts. No case. Both of y'all break up and never see each other again. Done.
This was great! I love getting varied perspectives. Especially when I can’t really see them.
I like that you have a "black friend" on speed dial for reference so you don't go in blind. That's very smart (I'm not being smart or sarcastic) many content creators try to give their opinion but don't do "that type" of research. Much respect. ALSO.... I SWEAR I'VE BEEN WAITING for you to cover this.... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You are a King in your corner of content creation
Yeah bruh the same. The type of "black friend" you have matters too lol. But I think they got this down.
@RevengeOfThaNerd THE TYPE DEFINITELY MATTERS!!! 😂😂😂
Okay first and foremost great video because I actually looked at the pauses as him trying to actually process it when I was on a stream. I felt it was an indication of him handling the question with interest.
Secondly, it must be pointed out that you did a great job in the background issue on affirmations, it’s important to highlight this as that’s what he was trying to communicate as there is information that predates this when Grace was controlling his scheduling etc and this was likely when he had enough. Lastly, your point regarding the ego, yeah I agree but kind of a low hanging fruit, I don’t think he limits himself to acting. I think he views himself as someone who is trying to elevate people like a MLK but more in the right of choice. If you look at his work on how masculinity should be viewed like him wearing pink etc. as a black man, it makes sense. He is trying to do something that he likely saw others failing in the community anyways my two cents. Great video
I think if he talked about how great he was and the verdict declared him innocent of all this we wouldn’t be discussing about that spiel he made to her.
He should have just broken up with her, not cheated on her and fought with her.
Dr. Heinz, the way that the Black community has vilified him for the “great man” comment has really baffled me. The way some of us idolize entertainers and athletes isn’t anything new. We love Denzel Washington, Angela Basset and Jordan because they’ve achieved greatness in their field - not necessarily because they were MLK. We literally stopped and mourned Chadwick and spoke of his greatness. So why is it so difficult to understand how Jonathan can look at himself as great? People have tried to diminish him as just an actor. With every announcement of his losses, he had every right to see greatness before March 2023. Just venting because I know how dedicated you are to this matter.
Amazing video. It was useful to get more context to this case, and really interesting what Nate said about self-defense, that you can't claim it without copping to the underlying 'crime'. It does look like both parties were at fault, but also that he was actively trying to get away from her.
Been highly waiting for this one
Career ending? I hope not. Once in a generation talent. I would watch anything that has him in it.
I believe if you listen to the call that she recorded without his knowledge by the way...he is telling her about coming home drunk and with a stranger. He is saying I need you to step up like Coretta Scott King or Michelle Obama. He is saying he simply needs a woman of that caliber. Someone strong supportive understanding. It is a request not a demand and I find nothing wrong with someone wanting out of relationship what they put in. Nothing wrong with telling someone you are a great person either.
Exactly 🤨🫵
Great to see Nate and hear his take on this!
Thanks so much for analyzing this video, it was something I was really looking forward to you doing. Nate added such a excellent perspective, he was great! Loved it!
My big takeaway from this is that Spidey needs to go get some edibles and watch Team America: World Police!
I'm not sure if he's a drug user, but I am sure that drugs are not required to watch movies.
I view him saying "laceration" not as a some sort of intentional correction but just as him acknowledging the question from the interviewer by repeating it back to her. Perhaps they only used the word laceration during the trial so now it is ingrained in his subconscious.
the laceration, yes ma'am....
the cut, yes ma'am...
they have the same energy to me, what is your opinion??
Yeah maybe there’s a script in his head pertaining to the trial and he’s just sticking to the words he knows 😊
So SHE STARTED THIS ENTIRE SITUATION WHEN SHE SNATCHED HIS PHONE WHEN HE GOT A TEXT MESSAGE THAT WAS "NONE OF HER BUSINESS"! SHE IS NOT MARRIED TO HIM AND EVEN IF SHE WAS-"his phone & HIS business of what was on his phone ...not hers!"
Remember SHE STARTED THE CONFRONTATION AND SHE WAS NOT CHARGED!"
Absolutely ridiculous!!!
Exactly 😮
Thank you for sharing this with us...Happy Tuesday ❤❤❤❤
What bothers me about his affirmation-y speech is how he’s talking about himself like he’s the main character of _her_ life, and her only role is to support him in being great. That’s very different from personal affirmations pushing yourself to greatness. And it doesn’t reflect well on his views on women that he sees Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama as supplements to their husbands when they’re both incredibly influential individuals in their own right.
That said, I agree it’s unfair that he’s the only one being charged. Just a messy situation all round.
I also think that if you cant PROVE he caused those injuries, he should not be found guilty. Did she take photos immediately following the event? Did she go to a doctor, ER, urgent treatment? There has the causation not just correlation when it comes to science and crimes.imo
Could have been caused later that night or when passing out or by someone else?
@@seedsoflove7684 exactly
Laceration sounds like something deliberate. Cut sounds like something that was a mistake.
Thank you for analyzing this interview.😊
I loooove how you spoke about calling people of color before you speak on that community
Hey Spidey, thank you for covering this case!Really enjoy hearing about the legal and cultural aspect as well. As a color person from the Bronx I can attest to being taught to use positive affirmation and struggling with the imposter syndrome when we get out and are successful. I am also the type of person who laughs when I am nervous, at a funeral (Its gotten me in trouble) and smiling the more nervous I feel, its not that I find the situation funny its that I have no idea how to express my emotions and get extremely uncomfortable.
If he got charged and found guilty, she should be too. Imo she started the whole thing by going after his property but because he's a guy he's automatically in the wrong?Based on the evidence all I saw was him trying to get away from her and she being the one who chases him like a little psycho now his career his ruin b/c of her.
Gives me Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard 2.0
Great analysis on both parts.
I have seen that same injury on her hand more than once. In the cases I have seen it was caused by fighting over keys and phones.
Yep, due to an early situation, i keep my keys in my purse and my phone with me. No more problems or worries.
SHE NEVER SAID HE HIT HER HEAD ON THE CAR.
