Those were the days and was lucky enough to be watching the great Aussie bands playing live at Preston Tech Gym Hall, Broderick smith & Carson, Daddy Cool, LA De Das,Madderlake,AC/DC,Skyhooks,Lobby Lloyd, Billy Thorpe,Missisippi,Blackfeather.WOW!
Wow that bring some memories back great band used to catch the train from nunawading Friday and Saturday night watch these blokes chain Thorpe and go to pubs in the arvo village green etc great music
Mesmerizing! Blues...Wow... that takes good endurance from a muso to hang in there on ONE RIFF for ten minutes! Great stuff takes me back to the 70s when some great Aussie music could be heard all around the place. Clips like this show how good the music was then compared to now. This clip had me almost feeling stoned. Fantastic to see again. Thanks Farkle.
Great Music. Carson, this was Broderick Smith at his best. They were fantastic live with bands like the La De Das, Aztecs, Chain, Madder Lake, Daddy Cool, Sid Rumpo and Spectrum. Please keep posting Farkle, these are clips we cannot afford to lose.
I never got to see this band. Don't remember them visiting Adelaide but then I wasn't allowed out much until the mid seventies. What a great band. I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks for posting.
The best Aussie "boogie" band of all time (apologies to Chain) who were in a slightly different category, in my opinion. Saw these guys at Mulwala in 1972. Canned Heat were headlining with Steven Stills but Carson blew them away. Saw the guys from Canned Heat stageside while Carson were doing their thing - and they were mighty impressed. Australian rock/blues music was at its best during this era. Fantastic
I seem to remember Queen at Muwala when they weren't famous! (may have been stoned) and they were shit, never did like them. Of course Carson were the best Aussie "boogie" band then Chain, daylight next.
up here in Sydney as a young bloke I didn't get to Victoria for gigs, but I remember seeing Pirhana as a backup act on a Deep Purple/Free tour and they were easily comparable. We had our own brand of music that often surprised OS touring bands
Broderick Smith (v), Greg Lawrie (g), Ian Winter (g), Tony Lunt (d), Gary Clarke (b) and in the band but didn't see then in the clip Mal Logan (k) & Mal Capewell (sax)
It’s a standard boogie riff, JL Hooker, canned heat, ZZ top, Freddie king all did versions. Boogie children, on the road again, la grange. JLH might have been the first
RIP the fabulous Broderick Smith. 😢😢😢You were such a talent and such a gentle, kind man.

Wow indeed. Great days!
takes me back to 5th Form Social (Oakleigh Tech) in 1971, we had Carson as the support band to Daddy Cool. It's been all downhill since then.
Not bad ! My 5th form social in 1970 in Sydney , we had Freshwater ( with Alison MacCallum) and Blackfeather !
RIP Broderick, so sad to see you go. Amazing performer always with a real schmick band . Condolences to family and friends
Sunny Sunday at Mitcham Oval 1972. Blackfeather, Captain Matchbox.......

Wow that bring some memories back great band used to catch the train from nunawading Friday and Saturday night watch these blokes chain Thorpe and go to pubs in the arvo village green etc great music

Tough as nails, aussie boogie at its best!
If only todays musicians were half as good as these guys were, no fancy electronics just great playing

Me Too , that was full tilt Carson slayed
I was there too. Much better than Canned Heat. Australian music at its best. Thorpe rocked too!

Chain went to the USA and blew the bluesmen away with their jazz inspired instrumentals.
Pig is a legend

Boogie - the best
Broderick Smith is fantastic on vocals, went on to sing with the Dingoes
His son is the lead vocalist for King Gizzard
Great, raw, and rippin.
Best band 16 when this came out
Simply the best...
The original aussie trance music..imagine this at Rainbow Serpent festival or Summadayze!
Love this song.
Broderick Smith (v), Greg Lawrie (g), Ian Winter (g), Tony Lunt (d), Gary Clarke (b) and in the band but didn't see then in the clip Mal Logan (k) & Mal Capewell (sax)
These guys are all legends , they laid the foundation for the next umpteen decades of Aussie rock .
FANBLOODYTASTIC!!!!!❤️☮️✌️️
Great. Simple as that...
Ésto es música de verdad
Boogieman Sam by king Gizzard is clearly an homage to this
More like this song is a tribute to the all the boogie that came before it.
get down and boogie around..
Blew canned heat off the stage at mulwala
About 17 year old MASSIVE
Harp is Max - Farkleberry juice!
love the music - but the video sends my head into a pseudo-psychadelic spin.
BeefHeart!
Not bloody bad!
Spirit in the sky riff?
It’s a standard boogie riff, JL Hooker, canned heat, ZZ top, Freddie king all did versions. Boogie children, on the road again, la grange. JLH might have been the first
Gnarly a.f.
Not the best but definately up in the top 5...I think thorpies cc rider would be #1
