That would have been cool. One of the fascinating aspects of the Norwegian version, of course, that would have been lost in any Anglophone version, is that you have Norwegian artists singing in English, Norwegian and Sámi, as well as in their own rather distinct regional dialects, and they often reinterpret songs into another language or dialect - depending on which they predominantly sing in themselves - which can give you an entirely new perspective on the song, its meaning, or its emotive dimension. I'm Norwegian, but I've lived in the UK since before the show started, and though I've heard references to it, it's only recently that I've started seeking out videos like this to see what the fuss is about, and it's been amazing seeing what these artists are doing with each other's songs. And I've also discovered artists whose careers hadn't even started by the time I moved.
