I had Terramax Tyres given to me for my Kia grand carnival, traveled over 40,000 km on them, we drove highway, dirt roads Tyres held up, recommended, better than people think, will get a set for my Pajero next....
Here in the US there aren’t many selling Sailun tires. I needed no tires for my F350 and was on a budget. I got the Terramax HLT there all season tire. I did my homework read every thing I could find. I have 10 thousand miles on them and no problems. I’d recommend them to anyone.
I have had a set of these on for 12,000 ks. Still look new. On road they are really good. 36psi seems good. Great in the rain. Gravely sandy bush driving, just brilliant. 20psi. Haven’t seen any heavy sand or deep mud yet. I might report back in 12 months time.
Sailun is the up and coming tyre as the owners of Sailun are putting alot of money into research and development unlike other Chinese brands using decade old tech
I ended up with a set on a new to me used F250 4x4. The old tires were wore out and I said no deal without new tires.. The dealer went "Checkmate, here ya go". I am actually not unhappy but was for sure not thrilled at first...
I ended up getting a set of 265/65/18 on my 2007 4Runner. I wanted some duratracs but was a 2 week wait and they had these in stock. As much as I didn’t want them and they are not aggressive looking enough ( I think ) I am impressed with them, they were great from Whitehorse to Edmonton and back
If I’m not mistaken, I would believe these are the same A/Ts sold here in the US as a Walmart brand Dextero. I was in a pinch and mounted four ten plys on my ram 2500 with the heavy Cummins and a heavy flat bed. In the ranch they were top notch and had excellent tread wear. On top of that they cost $500 after mount and balance, in 2022…I’m sold on them for sure.
Heads up for anyone, I brought a set 265/65/17 on my mn Triton. I rate them well been 4000km so far. No sliding issues, haven't used off road yet! If I get 50k from these I'm happy. Plenty of meat on them. I faced the white walls inside and no noise issues or anything either.(they are assymetric pattern) melb. Vic. Brought on eBay for $125 a corner.
Mate I wanted to ask about your roof racks. Are they they type that clamp to the the door frame with a foot fitting kit? Looks like you've got a decent load on them. Can you tell me about them? Cheers.
Stephen Butler yes Steve they do clamp at the door. I know it looks heavy but its just my rack bag with empty water containers, buckets and chairs. Not more than 40kg.
I'm sorry, I purchased a set of these today in 245/75/R16 LT well I can agree with one thing , these are an economy tire . They are not an AT , they are acceptable and quiet on the highway , would be excellent on a sedan or city SUV or maybe for a truck pulling a trailer on pavement or solid gravel but as soon as you are off road or into anything softer than dry gravel they are very poor performers. In the soft gravel or sandy roads they track poorly and like to go where the road tells them not your steering input. Then into sand, grass and dirt - well they simply do not have the capacity to advance and just dig and sink themselves.Zero flotation and essentially act like a pizza cutter , they don't even try to move forward they just spin and go into the earth. I do use tires in "all terrain" and varying conditions throughout the year but I think the sales pitch of all terrain should be tossed out to be fair and label as an all season or highway tire. The tread width is also quite narrow at just around 7" I measured. About a 20% grade on dry grass I need to use 4 x4 with these as they spin out. even less of a grade in sand/gravel/grass combination which also either had to back or or use 4 x 4 just to get moving. I went to test in a sand and gravel pit( zero grade)and as soon as these are on top of anything even slightly loose and just coming off idle they immediately drop and fail to float or advance and this was fairly packed but as soon as you break the surface you are stuck, even in 4 x4 I had to work my vehicle quite hard to get out of the area, far more effort than they should have been required. I can only blame myself as I needed new tires to pass inspection and these were the ONLY ones available in my area for a factory size 2006 GMC 2500 , yeah the load rating and 10 ply are there ( so they say) But I should have been more specific when asking for ALL terrain not ST tires ( some terrain). Several people told me how I'd be surprised by their performance, they were right , I sure was surprised! You get what you pay for, buy once cry once, buy twice, well, now I'm going to be near $550 per corner of the vehicle plus install as once mounted these tires are yours and I cannot make use of them. I will mount my Duratracs that i removed with 40% tread left and weather checked as they are still miles above these. Please spend the extra $$$ and step up as unless you are using these for 100% road use you will be very upset once out and off road.

I have them on my Tacoma and they are super quiet and ride great. Good in the snow too!

Wondering
How

And drive
With 10 ply

I'm pretty sure dextero is US made
Great review, thanks for doing this mate. I was looking for a review on these tyres and you have helped me a lot !
Thank you for your Sailun Terramax A/T Tyre review. Have you seen the Sailun Terramax A/T-M? That would be interesting.
Thanks for the review, looking at these tyres and there’s not many reviews around. Thanks
Hi Bob...how are your Sailuns after 3 years? I am changing tires and looking at Sailun A/T.
Thankyou for your review being researching for a few days 🍻
Thank you for taking hte time bro. But can we get an update in 2021? Cheers!
Info very helpful; good words, great vid, many thanks!
Great video, I think I'll buy a set. Thank you.
Two years on, do you still feel the same way about them now?

how much does a new sailun at cost
Hi Bob. How the sailun tyres holding up.
Cheers brother
you think this tire is capable of helping me pass through 3 inch of mud?
Don't know the conversion, but I got a set of these today for 100 a corner USD for my Jeep, seem to be pretty decent
Good man, thanks for taking the time
They are are winter rated too. Not much use in Aus, but those of us who are unfortunate enough to require winter tires these should be ok
I love my terramax AT ,275/60R20
Very informative actual usage review,
Thanks for your review !!!
How was the tire today? How was the thre ad?

how have the tires held up long term? How is trail/mud performance? Treadwear?
I just got 50,000 miles out of a set on my daily work truck.
They seem to do well in freezing slush conditions.
whats the recommended PSI for 265/70 r16 terramax on a suv/wagon?
good review mate, well done
How's the noise and vibration?
Does Sailun carry the p285/40r24 anymore?
Hi mate, any ideea if they can be mounted with the white letters inside ? thanks
Hey mate I've had them fitted just recently myself and had the white lettering put on the inside!

@Bob Williams: Hi, it’s been a year. Still satisfied?
Great video & review mate 👍
What does bag em mean?
Any update 2 years after? :)
Wanna see what the RTs handle like
How are they on snow and ice?
You still happy with these?
Crickets 😄
Отличный обзор молодец
You could of turn the engine off other wise great tyres
Turn your engine off
These tyres vibrate so bad with the crossover cuts... terrrrible
A bit concerned that somebody who actually blacks their sidewalls is doing an off-road tyre review, but I'll have a look anyway!
hi chris what do you mean by the sidewalls being black
Old video, but what a dumb comment🌝
