A good friend of mine opened for mountain and a big fight occurred because management told my buddy and there band to continue to play and Leslie and his boys got pissed and ran up on the stage and started yanking cords ! My buddy said he saved Leslie's life because his bass player was about to play sweet head music to the back of Leslie's head with his bass guitar !! This is old school when this happened because Charlie Daniels had my friend and his band on the road with him at that time ! This happened in the 70's !! Crazy story but true !!
Ricky Medlock could play a One string Banjo and I sit down and listen all day and all night and just however long he wanted to jam😅 Sure wished Uncle Shorty Medlock was still with us. I loved watching him and Ricky 😅
I grew up a metal head but when I was in college in 84, a guy in my dorm was a big Blackfoot fan, which got me into Blackfoot which lead me to the Outlaws, Molly Hatchett, Allman Brothers, Skynyrd etc. Great times. Am still a metal head 1st, but now my musical tastes run to a little bit of everything.
Ricky Medlocke is a legend in his own time!!! I love everything about him!! The Rattlesnake always lives up to his name for sure. He has had a long successful career. And is still kickin out the footlights all over the country!! I hope The Ricky Medlocke Band comes to the Gulfcoast!!!
Cool! Welcome! Thanks for listening! I've got more of them on my channel too! My favorite radio station is Planet Rock Radio from there. Listening everyday!! 🤘
It’s been 44 years since I first went to a show in the OMNI and heard Ricky Medlock torch the place. I’ve enjoyed his playing since I was a 14 year old….
Time to nominate Blackfoot to the rock and roll hall of fame and the rest of the foot Stooping brothers, molly hatchet, the outlaws, mashal tucker band.lets form the coalition to get it done!😊😊🎉😂😂😂❤😊
My theme song, have lived my life on the edge, but i made it through, i believe because I couldn't had a praying momma. I dont regret anything except the time I was separated from from my daughter. I lost it, i saw how dirty DSS can be, i tried my best, god has worked miracles in mtnlife, but when I hear this song it tskes me right back to the 80s and 90s.
I love to play this when I get in my '69 Plymouth Road Runner & go for a drive after a tough day. I let my imagination go, grab the shifter & just let her rip.
I absolutely love Rickey Medlocke! I saw him with Blackfoot at the Rocky Mountain Jam back in 90 or 91, then with Skynyrd at the Buffalo Chip a few years back.
They did a great job! However , I saw the original " Blackfoot " in the early 80's. They were incredible ! Glad these guys are paying tribute. Young folks missed out . They opened up for " Nazareth". 10 bucks two bands. I lived! Peace
Unfortunately I missed this show. Had the pleasure of watching Buddy Guy, Corey Stevens, the Hoop Snakes, Lamont Cranston, Delbert McClinton, and other greats play that Medina Ballroom stage.
Ricky and his band are off the chain . From what I read he wasn't included when Skynyrd was inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame . He deserves better than that .Go Ricky . I love your music .
I've always preferred Blackfoot over Skynyrd. There's something special with that trio of studio albums, Strikes, Tomcattin and Marauder. I luckily saw Blackfoot on the UK leg of the Marauder tour.
Welllll, although Rickey played drums and sang on the First and Last album from Skynyrd, no one compares to Skynyrd. But Blackfoot is a brother to Skynyrd.
Great song and happy that Rickey is out there keeping it alive! I prefer the longer/original version with the extended solos, but I assume he had a long set list and needed to shorten some songs to play them all.
Actually, when I saw a tech come out to help him switch guitars, I thought the same thing, but that's when the song kicks into high gear. I thought he was going into another song, so I quit recording, but no, it was the incredible finish! Aarrgghh,! 😫
Yes it was a long set list, but he did actually play the song in it's entirety, they just decided to play Train, Train in between the first and second half of Highway Song. It was kind of odd but still great.
@@zachwalentiny It bummed me out that on Highway Song, when I saw the guitar tech come out & switch guitars with Rickey, I thought that they were going into a totally different song. ☹️🙄😫
What happened to the guitar solo in this song !! I remember seeing them in the late 70’s in Baltimore they played this song and Train Train it lit the building up !! Southern Rock has a great sound but it also has driving guitars !! I bought Strikes when it came out !!
I wasn't sure they were going to do it, & when the guitar tech came out & switched guitars with Rickey, I thought they were going into a different song. ☹️😢 They killed it as you would imagine!
That was my fault, When I saw Ricky's guitar tech come out and switch guitars within him I thought they were switching songs. They weren't. ☹️ Thanks for listening!
Sorry you didn't enjoy it, but I admire him for continuing to do what he loves, (personally I think he sounds great considering singing for 50+ years) the crowds showed up, the response to all my videos have been overwhelming! The views & comments keep rolling in, they want him to come around the US , the UK, France, Australia. Nothing sad about that. Our rock & roll heroes are aging, none sound at their peak. Thank God they're still willing to grind out the tours! Thanks for listening! 🙂
What an arrogant comment! He can sing and he is doing it....wanna know who can’t sing? All your music hero’s who are dead! The fact he can stand there and strum that guitar and attempt to seem should put a smile on your face like it has tens of thousands of others!
Oh, I beg to differ. He's 74 years young and has one lung. Give him a break! At least he's alive to bring his live shows to his loyal career long fans!
Blackfoot is one of the greatest Rockbands ever. Underestimated like Mountain. Take of your hat, kick of your shoes in the wishing well.
Saw the open for the who in 81 in Detroit. Blew me away
That's a fact.
Underated singer / guitar player. Also one cool cat
Yeah a great musician!
Thank God he is still alive so many good ones are gone 😢
True!! Still lookin fine at 74 years young!! And plays like a beast!!!
My favorite Blackfoot song.
One of the absolute greatest driving songs ever. Blackfoot is one of the greatest southern rock bands ever
Absolutely!!!
Oh yeah. Play it loud as you drive down the road in your big rig!
Ricky Medlock could play a One string Banjo and I sit down and listen all day and all night and just however long he wanted to jam😅 Sure wished Uncle Shorty Medlock was still with us. I loved watching him and Ricky 😅
Every band has a Stairway song This is Blackfoot's stairway. Love this band. So underated.
Train Train and Wishing Well are two more masterpieces!!
... Blackfoot's "Stairway song" is "Diary of a workin' man" ;-)
Ricky has so many songs that are burned in my mind. . One of my first albums, Blackfoot/ Strikes.
Yeah u right, gotta find it my collection of music thru the years, like his original version
Most definitely!! I love "Left Turn On A Redlight"
For sure
Same here. Add ZZ TOO too. Southern Rock and camping and fishing!
Yaasssss!!!
BLACKFOOT Belongs in The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES They do!!😊
Totally agree!!!!!
100% Agree.
Rickey Medlocke, you're a badass. Keep on rocking' brother!
You are correct Sir!!
Medlocke brings it, every time.
Medlocke and Blackfoot , great pleasure !!!!! thank you MR AND THE BAND
Watching from England, still remember the fabulous performance at Donington monsters of rock 1981, well respected this side of the pond to this day.
Cool! Welcome! Thanks for listening! I've got more of them on my channel too!
My favorite radio station is Planet Rock Radio from there. Listening everyday!! 🤘
I'm from dublin' I was at donington 81 went to see whitesnake acdc. Great day rain and all. Slade and the toilet rolls. Great times. All the best.
I was there that day too, from Rome, Italy: how much rain I got!
I lost my ticket, but still a couple of tourbooks of the event.
Love this 🎵 song! Came out the year I graduated high school. 1979. ❤
Excellent song. It's one of my favorites.
It’s been 44 years since I first went to a show in the OMNI and heard Ricky Medlock torch the place. I’ve enjoyed his playing since I was a 14 year old….
Yes indeed. Saw them at the Fox as well. Great magical time ....
Had the pleasure of seeing them with def leppard. Yes, DL opened. Great frkn show- 80's.
VERY JEALOUS!
Ricky still rocks as hard ass as the first time I saw him with Blackfoot back in 1978 , puts the auto tuned crap music of today to shame 🤟
Time to nominate Blackfoot to the rock and roll hall of fame and the rest of the foot Stooping brothers, molly hatchet, the outlaws, mashal tucker band.lets form the coalition to get it done!😊😊🎉😂😂😂❤😊
Love it brings me back in time, love it my fav southern rock boys right here
I grew up playing with their drums, met them many times in my youth thanks to a neighbor who is related to one of members. #duval #ortega #70s
That is cool.thankyou for sharing.
Post and King lounge!!!! Arlington Baby!!
Interesting as their drive through is where we purchased booze as a minor 😅. Robert E. Lee ‘87!
Fantastic song.. a thousand times!
Heavily underated !
And imagine you are driving a 69 Roadrunner while driving your old Toyota Prius???? 😂 If I’m wrong sorry😂
I absolutely love Rickey Medlocke! I saw him with Blackfoot at the Rocky Mountain Jam back in 90 or 91, then with Skynyrd at the Buffalo Chip a few years back.
Beautiful Song!!
Back in the day, Blackfoot kicked ass.
cool, one guy plays the original music. love. The guitar. Bass and drums.
You the MAN baby! You the MAN!
My favorite song!!!!
They did a great job! However , I saw the original " Blackfoot " in the early 80's.
They were incredible ! Glad these guys are paying tribute.
Young folks missed out . They opened up for " Nazareth". 10 bucks two bands. I lived! Peace
Oh yeah, Charlie, Greg T and Jackson were like family to Rickey. I seen them in 81. For what I can remember, they blew the doors off.
Great song!!
Great music....
🎉 made me feel young er than I am!
The Gibson Explorer is the sexiest guitar on the planet.
Agreed. Firebird close second.
Unfortunately I missed this show. Had the pleasure of watching Buddy Guy, Corey Stevens, the Hoop Snakes, Lamont Cranston, Delbert McClinton, and other greats play that Medina Ballroom stage.
Come to Columbus, Ohio area Rickey - We WILL show up !
A Legend ❤❤❤.
Ricky and his band are off the chain . From what I read he wasn't included when Skynyrd was inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame . He deserves better than that .Go Ricky . I love your music .
Ugh,, that is a disgrace... wow
That sucks balls😡
I wished Blackfoot would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!! Or Rickey himself!!
what a treat. Bravo
Bad Ass please schedule more solo shows
Love you Rickey!!
What a Great Band⚡⚡⚡
Awesome❤❤
Great camera shot, good job and thanks!!!!!!
Thank you! Thanks for listening!
Awesome!
Ricky is a legend. But you have to give it up to Bobby Barth with his time with the band. Keep it alive boys!!!
Forever Medlocke and Lynyrd Skynyrd!!!
I've always preferred Blackfoot over Skynyrd. There's something special with that trio of studio albums, Strikes, Tomcattin and Marauder. I luckily saw Blackfoot on the UK leg of the Marauder tour.
I always liked Fly'n High the best
Welllll, although Rickey played drums and sang on the First and Last album from Skynyrd, no one compares to Skynyrd. But Blackfoot is a brother to Skynyrd.
Awesome job Ricky 👍✨🎸
Closest thing from Blackfoot is Rickey their one and only frontman. Please book a European tour 2024.
Rickey is a fantastic musician
The man.
Great song and happy that Rickey is out there keeping it alive! I prefer the longer/original version with the extended solos, but I assume he had a long set list and needed to shorten some songs to play them all.

Good Times.
You're welcome! Thanks for listening!
Got a few more songs on my channel also! 😉
awesome ....love that !!!
Ricky Medlock in my opinion is the best
He is a master guitarist!!❤
They cut the end of the song which is the best part
What happened to the guitar solo in this song !! I remember seeing them in the late 70’s in Baltimore they played this song and Train Train it lit the building up !! Southern Rock has a great sound but it also has driving guitars !! I bought Strikes when it came out !!

Search for Blackfoot in Kentucky live on UA-cam. It has Bobby Barth on guitar but they play the Snot out of this song!
RICKY❤
Great video! I have a few from the recent show on my channel as well. Cheers! 🍺
In my 73 MG when I was 17 now 65
Damn. Ricky can sing
Ricky's voice would make a drill Sargent weep
Does anyone remember the " Rattlesnake Rockn'roller" tour ?
Hell yeah 🎸🎤
Thumbs up 888 on May 29 2024....
They left out the best part of the song. When he unleashes that Explorer with the lead jam.
☹️ I know! When the guitar tech came out to switch guitars I thought they were switching songs. I was pissed off after the fact. 😒
and the final is CUT ? wtf ?
Ricky and Blackfoot were and are severely undrated. Glad to see he can still deliver a preformance on his own and with Lynyrd Skynyrd.
They cut out the whole solo at the end. WTF
That was my fault, When I saw Ricky's guitar tech come out and switch guitars within him I thought they were switching songs. They weren't. ☹️
Thanks for listening!
When was this concert ?
March 1st
You are not a Skynyrd. Sray the same. Vc. não é e nunca foi um Skynyrd...
Bands thight
did they just lose the lead so they cant play that solo?
Ricky can’t sing anymore,that’s sad
Sorry you didn't enjoy it, but I admire him for continuing to do what he loves, (personally I think he sounds great considering singing for 50+ years) the crowds showed up, the response to all my videos have been overwhelming! Ricky is great, but his bandmates need to tighten up.
You are NOT Lynard Skynard…all are dead except Artimus( emphasis added) Quit!
Helluva guitarist but can’t carry a tune in a bucket
Not very good live not even close now the outlaws were just as good live as the LPs
