- Since Thursday, it’s been all Rise all the time. All I could think about was either actually riding Rise of the Resistance, or finding ways to do so. Then Saturday morning came along, we didn’t get a boarding pass, but went to Galaxys Edge anyway to check out the vibe of the early boarding guests. In the process, what I discovered was that Rise of the Resistance was effecting how I felt about the rest of Galaxys Edge. And that effect was that I was LOVING IT.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved it already. But I hadn’t realized until this Saturday morning that I hadn’t yet loved it all the way. But with Rise opening, the land now felt complete. A place to be. A place I very much wanted to be. So much so that I was gladly prepared to wait an hour to ride Smugglers Run.
But first…breakfast. Morning Ronto Wraps for everyone! They were so delicious, and I recommend to anyone spending their morning at Black Spire Outpost to start their morning off at Ronto Roasters.
Once full, in to the queue we went for Smugglers Run, and I had a great time ruminating to Ian, Ronnie, and the camera, just how my feelings had changed about Galaxys Edge. And as is often the case when it comes to love, I found it hard to explain. It was un-quantifiable. Yesterday I felt one way about Galaxys Edge, today I felt a completely different way.
Now, when I walk through the land, I no longer feel what is missing. There’s no emptiness, both real and imagined. No sense of unfulfilled potential. Today, I am so deeply in love with a land that feeds a need for Star Wars. More Star Wars.

It wasn’t until watching the beginning of this video that I realized I’ve never ever encountered chewie by the falcon (a million times at/around the x-wing of course). That needs to happen. It excites me so much to see him and the falcon in the same view. I didn’t realize I had that excitement in me. More chewie by the falcon please!
I feel Galaxy's Edge will be truly complete if there's aliens roaming the land....but hey! Its awesome already!
yes, there is still work to do. But it does now finally feel like a complete(ish) place to be.

Just some of the easier ones would add so much to the atmosphere. Twi'leks, Rattataki, Zabrak, Togruta, Talz (costumed similar to Chewy), maybe even Devaronians. Easy humanoids.
First time seeing anyone taking a shot of the Falcon from the backend. Love it! Can’t wait to step foot on Galaxies Edge!

Tues/Wed. I landed boarding groups 11 & 13. This is truly a great attraction, like nothing else on the planet. Today I spent time in the Rise queue, finishing The Fin mission. I'm only missing 3 pieces of equipment and 2 star maps to complete everything on the Data pad.
I get excited every morning for this 💛😇
I don't think I'll ever take for granted that the Millennium Falcon is parked at Disneyland.

You mean Disneybound. Big differnce between Disneybounding and cosplay. Cosplay is when you dress in full costume. Disney doesn't allow this for guest over ages 14 years old. (Or IRL you be looked at funny for wearing that to Whole foods to get a quart of milk unless it's 10/31.) Disneybounding is when you take normal clothing pieces to make a outfit inspired by a character attraction or land, but you a not in full costume. Aka you would not get funny looks for wearing this outside the parks.

Dodger_Blue311, possibly I just like the picture because around the time when galaxy’s edge first opened it was hard to sit down at that table with everyone wanting a picture and Ian is just kicking back all casual :)
I’ll bet a year from now all the naysayers will have conveniently forgotten their dire predictions. Hopefully it’s huge success will bankroll an expansion of the Tomorrowland revamp. If only the Imagineers can prevail over the bean counters.
I think everyone is still disappointed the land is set in the sequel trilogy and not the original era

pzyko zillah i love the fact that it’s set in the Star Wars reality but not really in any particular film. I think it was an inspired idea. Makes it timeless. And who knows? Look at the Pirates films that came out decades after the ride. There may be a future film set in Batuu.
@@jiminsealbeach4109 no I like that it's an ambiguous location in the star wars universe, that takes place outside out what we've seen before buuut.... cmon it literally has kylo and rey walking around which is fine. I personally think rey has literally no personality at all and kylo Is cool but cmon man if you have to have characters from the movies I'd rather have han solo and darth vader. Or just actually make it disconnected from the main characters
pzyko zillah but it’s set in the current timeline though? Why wouldn’t they be there? Galaxies edge is in the current canon having characters who have died or haven’t been around for 30 years wouldn’t make sense. If you think Rey character “has no personality” go watch the you tube video of the character actor in the park interact with a little girl who was very excited to meet her and even took her by the hand to meet Chewie. Because guess what? kids like the sequel series. I as an adult like the new series. Just go and enjoy the majesty of what the imagineers could create in a tiny dirt lot in Anaheim or Orlando. It’s not that dramatic.
This series of episodes has been a lot of fun to watch.... from a distance, haha. I'm allergic to crowds.

At first I was skeptical with Disney opening Galaxy's Edge in 2 phases. But looking back at it now, I think they were very smart to do so! If the entire land had opened fully back in June last year it would have been a complete disaster! Now, it is tough for those who do not have an annual pass and needed to make special trips for each opening, but I think opening in 2 phases made it much more enjoyable overall, even for them.
did you guys go to Ogas for a bit before you flew the falcon.?

Oh man, I want to pilot with Ian. The one time I was able to pilot (right pilot!), we didn’t hit anything up/down, but the left pilot had no clue what he was doing and got us to the side of the train instead of right behind it.
I know it will be probably a stretch, but it is too bad that *Smuggler's Run* in the *Falcon* does not have the proper Gunner Seat like in the movies. But I know they still delivered on the experience of flying through the Galaxy. BTW what be the proper to ride first to last, Star Tours, Smuggler's Run and Rise? Maybe they would tie together some how.

I can't help but wonder how much stronger Disney's position would be had they chose to open the land alongside Rise, thus the land opening with both rides, instead of it opening with just Smuggler's Run. It appears to be a really well-done ride, and having two rides in the land might have deflected some of the "It's basically an open-air shopping mall" style criticisms they were getting.
BTW David, the website is looking good lately.

Here's something you may find interesting - today on the bus home from Disneyland I overheard someone whose family member is a cast member on Rise of the Resistance. Several cast members including the family member are currently suspended and facing possible job loss because some member of the public took a backstage/informal picture of a couple cast members and posted it online.
What has it been like getting bording pass during this week compared to the weekend?
Wondering the same thing. We’ll be there a week from Monday.
You can tell when Ian really like his food as he takes a bite his pupils dilate to tiny pinpoints.

Why do they never have people standing in the room before Hondo? I feel like it would get people into that room more efficiently?

In my personal opinion the ronto wrap isn't that good, the coleslaw doesn't go well with the sausage imo

Cuz there's no fastpass and it has a pretty large ride capacity.
Nader Zein even with a large ride capacity when fast pass does eventually open the standby line will be even longer than it is currently.

Jennifer J. Quin issues? No different than Indy breaking just about every day. It’s ok for a state of the art ride to break down. It’s expected.
David. You know the videos post on Fresh Baked dot com a day before they post on UA-cam?? It would be cool if they posted the same time.
They really need to change smugglers run. I wish it was more like Star tours where humans pilots don’t mess up the mission. When you have 6 year old kids crashing every 3 seconds. It really takes away from the ride and experience. It was a good idea but it’s not practical. I hope they take away the human input and just make a great ride with cool missions.
I love the star wars saga and I love Disney and I'm truly bummed out because I'll probably never get to see galaxy's edge because it's too expensive and I have no one to go with....
I've been on Smugglers run 3 times now and I have to say it is a lousy ride it is nothing more than a simulator with a video game plug into it. Given the choice I would rather go on any of the following attractions over Smugglers Run any day of the week, Indiana Jones, Space Mout, Pirates, Thunder, Haunted, P Pan, Matter Horn, nearly ever ride is better even Star Tours which is close to the same thing is better because Star Tours looks more like a big budget 3D movie plugged into a Simulator where smugglers run literally looks like a video game.

I've NEVER been taken backstage to queue at Disney, that's a cheap Universal move. Talk about show "stopping", literally stopping the show!
It looks like the "backstage" portion is decently themed for what it is, though. Much better than, say, the main street overflow ways.
WildeNight - I will try and look again, maybe another video or angle would give me clarity on theme. I just thought it looked backstage.
Edit: just watched again and had to vomit. Backstage 😵! Universal folks maybe slipped into Galaxy's Edge to try and lower the high show level somehow.
It's not that fantastic if you use or own ocean cargo containers. C-Vans as we call them. It would be better if there was more than tape on the ground and a few datapad signs. BTW. please don't tear at the fireproofing material on the I-Beams!
William Noll - Agreed. If I ever went through a backstage queue att Disney, well I might be interested, but not a good policy as a long term thing. Bad show, don't be a universal, no offense universal, lol.
