I always recommend being aware of your local laws. I don't have any first-hand knowledge of it becoming a liability issue. In this case, . the lights were still easily visible in daylight.
The grille design is printed at an angle. We installed it the way it was intended by the company that produces it. It was a customer supplied graphic, and we made the client aware of this. I'm not sure who installed yours but, if it was the same one, the installer should have made you aware.
