    Of all the *many* videos I've seen and docs that I've read, this is by far the best. I love when someone can explain what the tool does without going down too much of a rabbit hole, but also doesn't say, "just do A and B happens." I also like how you don't spend too much time trying to be a cool comedian but aren't boring either. thank you so much! I finally won't be guessing what I'd doing!

    Fast way to find the grey spot. Do a solid color layer with hex code 808080(grey) and make it be a "Difference" blend mode. You should see black spots on your image(or something close to black) ; that's the grey spot you need.

    When option dragging highlights and shadows, I assume the colors that appear are not quite yet clipped but approaching being clipped? Once they turn black or white respectively they are then fully clipped?
    I have always thought these areas were being clipped if they appeared but watching this got me thinking that it is probably a warning of whats to come if you go further. I haven't seen this addressed or explained anywhere so just wondered if you had any insight?
    Keep making these awesome videos and your tutorials!

    You have no idea what’s going on there. No technical explanations whatsoever. “if I drag this slider the image gets darker”. Doooh. Genius

    Nice. I still dont really see any particular advantage of 'levels' over 'curves'. And curves would seem to give more control of mid tones (in terms of adding or reducing midtone contrast) than levels.

    • @ellysalvatore949
      @ellysalvatore949 6 років тому

      curves are really handy to adjust colors, they always were the easiest option for me. What do you use for that? Because im kinda looking for other options to adjust colors

    • @tinderbox218
      @tinderbox218 6 років тому

      Levels is a quick way to adjust an overall image (lighter, darker, more/less contrast) while maintaining the tonal relationships within it. Curves gives you more control over specific values, and allows you to change tonal relationships (for example, more contrast in certain ranges and less in others).
