      I think he should continue to build that mid range game but in the meantime look to attack off the catch as a spot up shooter when he gets the ball back in the offense. If they close out, drive and look to pass or hit a floater (that has to be developed as well) so he can avoid the mid range until he perfects that.

      Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED he needs to consistently hit that jumper. The new form he has thats slightly to the right seems more fluent and natural also the touch on that shot is smooth.

If you work on it more over time you get better. Even Lebron had to work and do all sorts of crazy therapies to get the athleticism and body he’s got.

    I think all of his percentages will go up next season. Look at Ingram, last year he shot 62% from free throws and then changed his form and now is at around 70%. He was at 40% field goal, changed his mechanic, now at 46%. 29% from three, now its 38%

    • @gregoryrobinson5816
      @gregoryrobinson5816 6 років тому

      He shoots 43% from the line. Not 70. Remember he's a point guard. Never seen such foolishness in my 44 years on earth. A point guard who can't shoot. He gets assists because he gives up the ball do quickly. Most times at the half court line. He lacks confidence and decent form. Other rookies are way ahead of him. He's a marketing campaign.

    • @davehosty7157
      @davehosty7157 6 років тому +11

      Gregory Robinson He's talking about Ingram shooting 70%. Get the hate out of your head. I'm noticing that it's a trend to hate on people. Y'all need to get some lives. There's a difference between hating and giving proper and valid criticism that is backed by facts. Lonzo is not a good shooter rn, but he can share the ball well and rebounds extremely well for his position. He'll be better next year. This was a good draft class.

    • @Mega10Cenation
      @Mega10Cenation 6 років тому +1

      Dave Hosty yah dude lol, I don't think he read what I said, he just saw Lonzo's name and went straight to negatives 😂. He's literally elite in every single category other than efficiency, which is normally the same for most rookies. He's averaging 10, 7, and 7, 2 steals, 1 block. I'll take that out of my point guard any day. At the absolute worst, he is our Draymond Green, and that's if his shot doesn't fall in 5-7 years which is unlikely. He's got better scoring ability than Draymond already. And his ceiling is Jason Kidd/Steve Nash about 17, 8, 12

    lonzo shot will get better over time. His passing is elite reads the floor well. along with the rest of the lakers young talent will be a force to be dealt with.

    Thing is.. it's not new. People who only watch lonzo on the NBA court and college have 0 idea of his skillset. Him and his brothers are very talented.

      Creative Username if you're critiquing someone's ability it should be more research done. He's had a midrange game his whole life. He's just been taught 3s and layups are the new NBA which it is. He been doing it in his backyard, high school and the gym. Real fans know he can do deep 3s and midrange shots at will. He just started abusing his nasty stepback too. Check him out by age 22.

    No accident, Lonzo scraps a little lately and gains some confidence. In a sport that might rely on that as much as any other, that is huge for a past "star" in showing back up.

  • @josiahg7190

    He only made 20 years old not even 6 months ago. He has shown improvement throughout the season and has some time to develop and get comfortable, In a league where the average career length is 5 years im sure its very possible lonzo could be a star

    I have a guess. If he started trying to make the 3 at a very young age and was trying to hit from distance he might have needed to get more push on the ball as he didn't have the strength to hit from really far away so he brought it from the left side so he could chuck it toward the rim. And he just kept doing it. I think he should change the three point shot as he's strong enough now to make it with a normal shot. I loved his new two point shots. That could make him special.

  • @chosendrawz

    I thought i was the only one who noticed his jumpshot was a little different. His ball movement is less sideways, his feet aren't too far apart, but he's not swaying into his shot as much. Hopefully, he finds something that works.

    Lonzo Ball is a Rookie, a very good Rookie who will grow in comfort and confidence in his ability on the court as he matures both physically and mentally into his game. Now it is going to take a tremendous amount of work for this to come to fruition, but I believe he has the work ethic and basketball IQ in him to be a really special player in this league. Year 2-5 with more talent around him and you will all see what this kid is made of. I bet and believe with all my heart that he will be closer to what Mr. Bayless has been screaming to the gods in the sky every time Lonzo name is even whispered. Lol
