Amy, you did a great job teaching temperature change between day and night. And how to get orchids to rebloom. Not everyone has nice big windows so they can also use grow lights. I use them all the time. Thanks for sharing your video. May you be richly blessed and Shalom.🙏🏻🤗👍
@@4chappels what you want to use is full spectrum lights. Shop lights will work also. I use both. I bought my lights off Amazon. They offer a lot of different ones that will match your growing needs. Just type in grow lights for orchids.
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback, Shirley! And thank you for sharing the information about grow lights...that will help others reading my comment section! :)
I have 8 orchid plants now and am no longer afraid when given one because of your channel. All of mine bloom. I’m using all water culture. I share your channel with my friends and family who now think I’m an orchid whisperer. Lol. Thank you.
🌺 I have 2 phal. orchids , they are both blooming. I got them both in early spring 2020. I kept them in a SW window, then when I saw the buds I moved them to my living room and put them under a grow light. My husband is more excited about them re blooming than I expected him to be. 😎. My Christmas cactus is blooming now, it didn't bloom during the holidays.. Instead It had experienced bud drop.
Wonderful! I'm so glad you're getting such great results! And my husband is quite proud when my orchids bloom...I think that's awesome too! :) Thank you for keeping me posted...it made my day!
You have a wealth of knowledge as it pertains to orchids. I thank you; watching your videos several years ago gave me the confidence to grow phaleanopsis orchids. They are very easy. I actually grow all of mine bare root; if I grow in medium I over water. Thanks again for your knowledge!
Thank you so much, I am in South Africa, weather alot different but the guidelines stays the same, I appreciate your calming voice and your tips, you are amazing
It’s so cloudy here in California looks like it’s going to rain here too! I have 10 out of 20 plants in spike super excited even though it’s not all of them so I am here for your advice❤️
Your so in formative. Going to try your recipe for fertilizer. Ordered cal mag, food etc. I will see if this works on my mini phals.. Love your calm demeanor. Makes me feel like my spike will put out buds. Crossing my fingers I get buds.
Thank you so much for these videos! Please keep them coming. I am new to orchid growing and also new to your channel. YOU are such a blessing to all of us!
💚 Lots of good information here and very clearly explained. I have one stubborn phal that hasn't bloomed in 4 years. Guess it's time to wake her up. Thank you Amy for all your time you give so generously. So very much appreciated! Blessings from Arizona🎋
Thanks so much, Sharon...I appreciate your sweet comments, my friend! I'm hoping that orchid does wake up, and that it blooms profusely for you! Blessings! :) Amy
Thank you beautiful orchids and information my orchids are on bloom along of spikes you right about lighting and temperature has alot for to spike and feeding.
Hi Amy. We have a gorgeous, sunny day here in North Alabama! But it's going to quickly change to cold. Another wonderful video! You know me, I took notes! ☺️ I have 5 phals that did not spike for me, and two mini phals. I do believe they are all waiting to be repotted! Maybe I'll go ahead and repot one a little early. You also gave me a great idea. I'm going to place one of these phalaenopsis in my daughter's bedroom at night. She has a chinchilla and has to keep her room cold for him. 😁👍 Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your love for orchids with us. Tammy 🙋♀️💕🌸
Hi Tammy! It looks like we're not going to get the latest cold spell...not this time at least. LOL! Keep me posted on this phalenopsis...I hope it spikes for you! :) Blessings to you my friend! Amy :)
Hi Amy, Your Dendrobium is looking great. Thank you for the information on blooming, I am going to try out the warm water on my sluggish Phaleanopsis. Loved your videos on the Hummingbirds in your garden!! Take care🌸🌼🌸❤️
Thank you, Sue! I'm hoping it works for your Phalenopsis! I miss my hummingbirds when they're away for the winter...thanks for watching! Many blessings to you! :)
Great information! Thank you. Especially about the temperatures needed for blooming. Thus won’t be the easiest to achieve for me in my house. I have my orchids in a colder bay window area at about 66 degrees at night. But the heat during winter during the day brings it up to about 72. Not the temp difference you recommend. However, I do have secondary spikes and blooms so perhaps they are happy so far.
@@OrchidWhisperer thank you. That’s kinda what I figured. I must say, Amy, how I look forward to your blessing each time. It seems to be just what I need to hear, at just the right moment, in this crazy world we live in.
Thank you. Four of my five phals rebloomed but one, the one I would have least suspected, has refused. I did move it to a brighter window where it does retool nights, but still nothing. So I will try a repot and maybe the warm water treatment. The plant itself is very vigorous, with lots of healthy, sturdy leaves, so it has really perplexed me.
Hi Janet! One of my strong Phals did this several years ago. It had been in bloom for 2 years, and then it skipped a year. Since yours is healthy, that's a good sign it will rebloom for you...hopefully soon!
Hello Amy! I guess I had missed this video it was so informative and helpful I’m going to try your tips and see what happens. Thank you so very much dear friend ❤️
So nice of you! :) I have a video about how I clean my leaves and what I use...here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/sIKOvNIhobU/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
Hi Amy, as always your plants are as beautiful as they can be :). I got one question about fertilizing when Phals are (or starting) in bloom...Do you change any of your fertilizer recipe? I've seen Better Grow Orchid Bloom fertilizer, so I wondered...which one do you use? And also for Seaweed Extract, do you keep up with it even when they are in bloom? I know about Cal Mag and Epsom salt's (in bloom)...but for fertilizer not so much... Wish you and you're family all the best..and just keep us up to date with those stunning plants... Regards :)
Hi and thanks so much for your sweet comment! I did a video last month on my fertilizer recipe...you can watch me mix up a batch of what I use all year. I don't use bloom boosters and I don't add Epsom salts anymore...the CalMag and fertilizer provides plenty of magnesium. When it's really cold and cloudy here, I'll reduce the amount of Better Gro, but that's the only thing that changes. I've been getting the best results I've ever had. :) Happy growing! Amy
@@OrchidWhisperer Yeah 65 is a better minimum. After all we all like blooms and it's better if they last for more than 3 or 4 days. 60 is really the beginning of problems and 50 o my goodness it was time to do something drastic, so I did change the growing environment completely.
Supposed to have a low of 15F Saturday morning coming up... hoping that will change but the more it stays the same in the forecast the more I doubt it will not be so cold. :P This is in South Texas btw. We have already had a little snow once this year and I am thinking we could get more if it is that cold and we have moisture.
