    Thank you for showing how to make the Asian dip sauce, that's how my mom make it, as well. I love this with egg rolls with grilled shrimp vermicelli salad & this is one the easiest to make!

    Recently I became semi Vegan. I still eat Shrimps and Fishes and that's why I am here. I had this in a Restaurant last year and it was soooo yummy. Although I live in the Northern New Hampshire, they don't have Vietnamese Restaurants :(((( and it's hard to find these as well. But I bought bunch of ingredients online to make these. Thank you for the recipe!!!!

      Eve Schwarz you can keep it for a quite a long time. My parents would make a whole jar and leave it in the fridge after sitting on the counter couple of days

      You can keep it in the fridge for about 4 weeks. Hopefully you’ll consume it before then. Drizzle it on steamed or fried fish filet is awesome.

    So is this watered down since the original fish sauce is so pungent? I'm asking cause I've noticed that restaurants won't dilute with prik nam pla. But the Vietnamese restaurants fish sauce is usually more subtle and not so pungent. Looks delicious. I love both ways.

      The restaurant is catered to outside world that’s not accustom to the cuisine , restaurant basically fish sauce water and sugar , pepper and garlic is optional

    Ms. Cathy can you tell me why when making fish sauce - you have to use fish sauce coming from the bottle? I am not trying to ask a stupid question. I am just trying to understand. I made a fish rice dish (fish, rice, fried egg) and thought a fish sauce would be over this.

    There are 4 tablespoons in 1/4 cup.
    There are 5 tablespoons in 1/3 cup
    And yes accuracy is important for the balance of flavor.

    Dissolve the sugar in the warm water first. Then proceed with adding the rest of the ingredients.

      It keeps for awhile in the fridge. Usually it’s gone in 2 wks tops at my house but 1 month should be okay. 🥰

      it takes 2 sec to do, can refrigerate for up to 1 week. Don't replace lemon by vinegar..

      xAllDolledUpx come on :) You just put a few liquids together and a few spoon of sugar don't be sooo lazy :) Btw I am french, we always tend to exagerate everything , but really, it's super quick & easy to make :) Suggestion, put the liquid in a jar close the lid, shake it up. Super easy & fast ;)
