Has the new caves and cliffs update messed up portal spawns? I heard thay they can get over written by ravines or caves. I've gone as far as copying my survival world and using creative mode. I've literally gone to 3 different strongholds and blown them to bits and there is absolutely no trace of a portal. I'm sick of it. And to make it worse, ender eyes don't even lead to the portal room anymore (I feel like they used to) So what the hell am I meant to do?
Last night I was trying to find the portal and the eye of ender literally told me that I was in the right spot for even the stronghold and we used tnt and mined everywhere I couldn't find a strong hold or anything :( the new cave and cliffs update might of ruined my world because I started without it then added it so that might be been the case
its really frustating its happening to me
It also took me 2 hour to find it,use x Ray texture on ur Copied world ,but first blow everything up then use the x Ray texture,If u see Iron bars windows then u found it

My friend told me if a strong hold is connected to a cave the portal room can be on the other side of the cave
First thing you need to realize is that End Portals don’t spawn in every single stronghold on Bedrock Edition. End Portals do spawn in every single stronghold on Java, though. What I suggest to do if you can’t find your End Portal on Bedrock is to keep looking: dig through walls, blow up the area around (End Portal frames will not break from TNT) to find the End Portal. If you’re unsuccessful, head to 0, 0. From there turn 120 degrees from the first stronghold you found and run in that direction. After maybe 200 blocks throw an Eye of Ender. If it still goes to the first stronghold, head farther in the direction 120 degrees from that stronghold. Run another 200-500 blocks and throw one more Eye of Ender. If it still goes to the first stronghold, repeat the last 2 sentences. Do this until your Eyes lead you to the second stronghold
bro I can't thank u enough, I had an alt world I creative eof the same seed and I went to the portal to see the loot and stuff and realized that there is no portal , I used ur method and found the portal , u saved my world which I have spent m9re than 500 hours on , thanks a lot bro
Microsoft seriously needs to get their shit together on bedrock. How are they letting something like this slide when it literally ruins the game when it fails to spawn a portal room?
thank you , i didn't know they don't alwasy spawn on bedrock and looked through every room and dig out every wall, floor and ceiling for over an hour and a half before i stopped to google 🤣🤣

Definitely not always an End Portal in every stronghold.
You gave me the itch to go find a new Stronghold, building a new base 10,000 x 10,000 away from my near spawn village base.
From what I can tell in Java only 128 strongholds can generate
In bedrock however strongholds will infinitely generate however only the first 128 will have end portals
Note: end frames don't break from explosions. Can't find the portal? Blow the stronghold up. The portal will reveal and be untouched.

Me and my brother couldn't give up so we ended up trying this and blowing up things for 5 hours.
We didn't find anything
Also there are more than one stronghold sometimes.
Even though I resisted the idea of finding another stronghold, it's probably the best advice. No point in wasting time with a stronghold that got screwed up in RWG(mind had a fault line going through it). After finding another one, I was able to find its portal in about 30 seconds.
So I noticed that in strongholds, some doors can be naturally blocked. If you cant find a door for whatever reason, your best bet is looking through the stronghold for areas where there should be a door but has no door there as sometimes mining through the area where it should be can reveal doors
THANK YOU!! I spent so long trying to find the end portal. Then i dug up a suspicious spot in the wall and saw that the door leading to it was blocked off and hidden. Smh this cant be fair but THANK YOU!!!!
I believe this was a bug but the developers liked it and kept it in
or you could creat a copy of your world and turn that save into creative do the /locate command until yo find it and writ down the coordanates than load up your survival save.
That's probably good advice today. However, at the time this video was made, it was common for a Stronghold to have no portal room; it was a bug. So there often times was no portal to find. Also, many people find using Creative mode, even if it's a copy, is a kind of cheat.
Same thing happened to my son and I. We looked for hours and could not find the ender portal. We switch to creative and used TNT all over the stronghold to try to find the portal to no Avail. We started this map prior to the cliffs and caves update so I'm not sure if it altered strongholds after the update...

I traveled 4000 blocks to get to the stronghold to find a stronghold that is literally just one little room. It has a massive ravine with a deep dark cave that I guess completely deleted it. Fun.
Feel like they didn’t account for the strongholds when they released this update with these giant caves and such. *sigh*
I know this will be a late comment but I had the same problem where the stronghold was small and had no ender portal. I ended up finding it by mining through parts of the stronghold. Try it before trying to find another. I hope this was helpful. 😁

Ok so it's not just my word that's bugged. Maybe people should tell the devs at Mojang. She how many people found 1.18 bedrock worlds with no endportal frames.

Hello, i also struggled with end portal, i found stronghold and entered every single room in there. But there was no endportal, finally i decided to break some walls and there were more rooms and endportal:)
same thing me and my friend tried, there were more rooms, but not many. and no endportal 😞
You know the messed up part about my situation is that my stronghold is surrounded by water. Blowing it up ain't a option

Java or Bedrock? (Note: While caves and ravines don’t affect stronghold generation, they will not generate walls floors, and ceilings in Java Edition caves)
@@bc185_reddit bedrock.. i copied the world went to creative and blew up a huuuge hole around the stronghold and no portal anywhere then i googled it and realised that there is more strong holds travelled about 4k blocks and pearls led me to a different one and finally found it
@@porri5438 Glad you were able to find the portal room. In the future, you can use spectator mode to confirm, which always reveals the portal room if it exists as long as the check is done correctly (it is an experimental feature on Bedrock). Also, Bedrock Edition sometimes generates small and medium strongholds without portal rooms.
When the nearest stronghold is around 500 blocks from your base and there’s no portal 😭 Java seems sooo much better than bedrock!

Lmao the nearest stronghold in my survival world is around THOUSANDS of blocks away from my base (I found out because I copied my survival world and set it to creative mode), it was located REALLY REALLY deep underground at a village, the Y level was literally below 10 and maybe in negative levels. It was annoying digging for it because there's always water breaking in during the process of finding the stronghold, it took me more than 10 minutes to literally find it just for it to NOT have a portal room.. It makes me wanna start a new survival world but I can't because I already made a big nice house, farm and nether portal and I got diamonds, emeralds, gold and bunch of iron and resources. I don't want to delete my world after putting much time and effort working on it but it's so tempting to start a new one. And finding another stronghold seems a really difficult task. (Yeah this reply is kinda long, sorry if you read allat 💀)

Bro what is happening to me so i located the strong hold but it was just one room the library one so i started digging and still after 15 min no progress so i went in spectator mode to see what's happening and i saw all the parts of strong hold is in different places like its broken and there is no end portal what should i do
Occasionally, a stronghold does spawn with no portal room. So, go back to your base, run a few hundred blocks in the opposite direction of the broken stronghold, and start throwing Eyes to find another Stronghold, as there are multiple strongholds in your world, but they are usually far apart.
I found a stronghold kind of small but I cannot find the end portal. I can find caves that doesn't help me

I just went to opposite direction and found new big stronghold with the portal in it. Do the same

Go back to the base or where ever you started to search for stronghold and now go to the opposite direction. When you have traveled 200 block throw up the eye and see if it goes to opposite direction. If it doesnt and it goes to the direction of that small stronghold where you just went, go again another 200 blocks and throw the eye. Keep doing this until the eye goes to the different direction. I hope this was helpful
Update has officially messed up strongholds...spread the word . I don't care what some people say ...there is not a portal at all of the strongholds trust me . 3 times in one world is a thing aswel
I used the ender eyes to find the portal and when i found the portal there were only 5 frames to put the ender eyes on. I mean the portal was incomplete, there were 7 frames missing to put the ender eyes on. Has anyone come across anything like that? I play on a PS4.
I found a stronghold near my base really far down at -50 and theres 3 rooms empty and i dug in all directions and no sign of any portal.. the closest other one is 4000 blocks away

I had to use at least 12 stacks of 64 and there's no stronghold. It brought me down and down, but it stopped at y 29 and there's nothing here. I exploded down to bedrock and I can't find anything.

When you get close enough to the stronghold, the ender eyes will go down instead of up.

I started a world about two or three weeks ago and yesterday I tried finding the stronghold. I went directly down where the ender eyes went down, but it stays in the air of a ravine? There isn’t even a stronghold, am I doing this wrong or should I just make a new world?
Ravines were breaking strongholds regularly at this time. your only option was to find a different stronghold.

Copy your world, go into the copy and turn it creative and then just blow the shit out of the area, my intended coordinates of the stronghold was 1814,40, 700ish and the portal was over 100blocks away from the coordinates I was told, blew the crap out of it in creative, marked the coordinates down and now I know where to go

@@jamierawlings8982 Well, I've got a devastating crater where the stronghold used to be. 😅 Unfortunately, it's surrounded by ocean and above the new massive cave systems, so.. it's unclear if I even have one there. Thanks for the tip still. I'll apply it to my next stronghold.

Are you playing Java or Bedrock Edition? If you are on Java Edition, there is always a portal room (you can find it by drinking a night vision potion and going into spectator mode on a copy of the world). If you are on Bedrock, I'd be interested in if the stronghold is small or large.

If nothing works Make a copy of ur world go to creative. Type /locate Stronghold and go to the coordinates and if u find it screenshot it and go to ur main world and there :)
Fuck this game. I wasted so many fucking Eyes of Ender to find one, then I DIG DOWN AND FUCKING NOTHING. Fuck this update.
