I’ve been a mason since 2001. I started out with wood levels. After 10 years I switched to Stabila and I love them! I’ve owned a few. I should probably send a couple back. I’ve got a 16” that the vial is ruined and a 48” that is bent. But I love them and I would never buy another brand. Got Mit Uns

The electronics module stopped working on my 196-2E and Stabila wanted a huge sum to replace it mostly because they did not have any more of the older modules so beware of the electronics which is nice while it works!

How well do these really hold up to being dropped?
Apprentice dropped my brand new 1800 Stabila level and the centre bubble was done, just became an expensive stick at that point

Do these need to be calibrated
CAL-FREE stand for an electronic system that does not require calibrating - even after being dropped or following temperature fluctuations 👍
Hi, I believe you have a miniature version that has no viles, (about 10 inches long).
I own a number of stabila levels as they are the best but none are digital.
If I got the miniature digital one could I then place it on top of any of my levels thus turning any length level I have into a digital one?

No, we would advise you against it. Our TECH 196 DL in 23 cm is particularly suitable for aligning short building elements such as window sills or for working in cramped conditions.
@@STABILAOfficial thank you for getting back to me so quickly. So I take it if I wish to use a digital stabila level I will need to replace the stabila levels I own now, like for like with the digital version.

@@STABILAOfficial I understand your concern that the longer level may not be perfect, thus giving false reading by the shorter level. I believe that is where you are coming from. So its up to the consumer to make such a decision, and the guarantee of level becomes their responsibility if they want to engage in tricks. Although I have to say the theory is sound if the longer level happens to also be a stabila in good condition. For myself, I would probably use at least a 24 inch level and not the shortest available. The accuracy goes way up then. Finally, this is only useful if you tape the levels together, such as when doing vertical checks and you cannot get eyes on the readout, using the sound as your guide.

From there site: STABILA provides a 10-year warranty for aluminium profile spirit levels from the day they are purchased. For electronic measuring tools, rotation lasers, point and line lasers, and laser distance measurers, we provide a 2-year warranty. So, I believe that it comes with 2-year coverage, which I think that it is short for their premium price tag. I was expecting something like 5 years.
