The paint look is really pretty with these spreads 🍊 I've only read Animal Farm out of these and that was when I was I think 17 in school haha so it was probably a better age to read it haha I've recently finished The High Lord, the last book in a fantasy trilogy. It was really fun, definitely young adult level so easy to read even if the book was long and lots of dramatic events.
Oh yeah, 17 would definitely be the target audience today! I had never heard of this series or this author, thanks for the rec! I love hearing about books you enjoy and I don't see everywhere.
This is a very good question… I think they are all really good books and I cannot wait for Nr 5. but I think the first one is the best, because I didn’t expect this humor and smart characters and how they handle the different situations with that coolness. I really had to laugh out loud while reading them a lot!
Your spreads always end up so beautiful ! I've read the whole murder club series and if you go into it already expecting funny and nonesense and not seriously taken characters I think you'd enjoy it more. But I completely get it that it's not everyone's cup of tea. It has been my favorite cozy murder mystery book and series.
totally get that too! I think I was kind of thrown off by the lit fic sad part. With only the humor, I would probably have forgiven the lack of moral. but if it gets serious, I get serious 😅 Which one did you like best in the series? And have you tried his new series that just came out?
@@bujobyfilo I just bought the we solve murders but haven't read it. And yes the thursday murder club deals with some heavy themes, I get that it might be off-putting for some. I really liked them all but maybe the first or the last is my fave.
6:31 Oh that's great!! I bought The One and am planning on reading it next year so I'm glad you explained what kind of book it is without giving away plot points and spoilers🫶🍊
I love the style of your book journal. It's very inspiring! I somehow missed reading any George Orwell when I was younger too. I'm planning to tackle Animal Farm and 1984 before the end of the year. I'm currently reading The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. 🍊
Well, you missed Orwell and I'm missing Sanderson, what about that 🤣 it's like I live under a rock 😅 Tress is on my tbr, let's see when it makes it to the top of this neverending list lol On Orwell, I much prefered 1984, though the second half felt a bit boring, it still aged very well and you actually need to read it to know what it is about. And it leaves you thinking, which is something I love.
I particularly enjoyed the spreads you created in this video. When I was a bookseller we couldn’t get the Richard Osman books fast enough on the shelves. People went crazy over them! I’m glad to hear a more critical review of the books as everyone else seems to rave about them. I haven’t read them, they don’t interest me at all, but I was intrigued to give them a try for work‘s sake. Now I definitely know not to bother, the negative aspects you pointed out confirmed my suspicions.
Interesting! I've seen this series everywhere on social media and zero negative review. Though, I also understand that, had there only be british humor and carefree fun investigation, I wouldn't have taken it so seriously. But once you give me serious topics to think about that throw me off, I do think about them and I do get serious 😅 And I do get bothered if the moral is... questionable, not in a fun way. Glad my review helped!
I am very interested in reading The One. I am currently reading something light and easy Summer on the Bluffs by Sunny Hostin. I was pulled to the book based on the unlocking of secrets. I can’t wait to finish this book. 🍊
I hope you enjoy The one as much as I did! How did you like Summer on the bluffs? I hadn't heard of it and I love reading your recs for books I don't see everywhere!
@ Summer on the Bluffs was quite the book! The secrets really something and makes you think more about the people in your life and what you think you know about them.
Your spreads are beautiful. I also enjoyed “The One”. I wanted to read “The Thursday Bookclub”, but I really can’t do cozy mysteries. They all follow the same format. The cops are useless and the people in the small town solve the crimes. It’s predictable and I just don’t like it. I prefer Hercule Poirot or other Agatha Christie’s books. They all have quirky characters, but the police are not the idiots. Have you read any Ruth Galloway Mysteries by Elly Griffiths? It is with forensics but it is not gory. I enjoyed the series and found her character development was well done. 🍊
I don't know your feelings towards fantasy but I just read The Sword of Kaigen by ML Wang, and that was truly a life changing experience for me. Honestly, may be one of the best books I've read this year.
Love the spreads! I also read Animal Farm this year for the first time. It was a great one for me. I had not heard of it before. I liked its simplicity actually. I was curious what rating you gave it since I didn't see it in the video? 🍊
Thank you! hmm, that's a hard one. I didn't rate it right away as I needed time to think about it and forgot to say that in the video. And now I still find it hard to come to a final rating. I'd say 2 stars? Taking into account that I don't think I'm the target audience. I should have read it when I was 16-18, then it would have been more groundbreaking.
Good morning 🌞 lady 👋🏽😊 do you take a art class 🎨🖌️ ? How are you doing how's the weather over there? On the 6th we had are first snow here in Billings Montana it was pretty 😍 when it comes down the first time, but other than that we had a good Halloween 👻🎃 with the girls they were zombies cheerleader and my husband and I were pirates ☠️⚓📜⚔️🗝️🏴☠️ 4 🥣 of candy 🍭🍬 i was shocked how much they got that night. I have the Halloween stickers that you have, ohh ready used mine for October, but November I'm thinking about using Disney princesses for my setup. 😊
Hi Tonetta! I do want to take art classes, you're reading my mind! Wow that's a lot of candies, I couldn't ration them, that would be a disaster haha Well, in Madrid we're fine, but the east coast of Spain has been hit by a huge storm these days, we had never seen that in our lifetime, and it's pretty bad, at a material and economical level, but worse, at a human level.
@bujobyfilo 😊 ha remember great minds think alike 😌 back in 2011 I was going to do college classes but they said they only had nude or something like that I turned it down on being a art teacher.
@@tonettamartinez4605 unfortunately it's pretty dramatic and there have been many casualties. Thankfully, people help each other and we've seen amazing acts of generosity and kindness. But I can't imagine how hard it must be...

Happy you liked my creepy page, it was fun! 😆
🍊 lovely spreads Filo!!
Thank you so much Alisha!
I read animal farm in the 7th grade as well as watched the movie. It was super eye opening back then lol 🍊
I bet! That's totally the target audience for this book today, I was late lol
