What really drew me in when I started watching this show is how Johnny had good intentions but was just unable to get out of that bully mentality. My favorite moment from the first season was how he called online bullies pussies, not because they were bullies but because they didn't do it to the target's face.

I like the LaRusso daughter love side-stories. They're just as interesting as Johnny's story. They've managed to create these new characters who've got their own stories to tell alongside Johnny.

I don’t know if it’s scientific fact but I can you from experience that as you exercise, asthma attacks are less frequent. You’re training your body for the constant change in environmental levels, for example, when the weather changes from cold to hot constantly I would need my inhaler but because I started jogging and swimming, I’ve hardly ever needed my inhaler since.

I love how this show depicts Johnny. In a world where people can be cancelled for not using the right language, to show a character who is politically incorrect and ignorant but still tries his best and has a good heart, and is the most loveable character on the show - it's good for the world. There are a lot of Johnnys out there in the world. And they are still able to be good people and grow without completely changing their personality. And they have things that they know better and can teach better than someone like Daniel, who is also fantastic but is more what society today holds up as the epitome of "wholesome masculinity". But Daniel (or Mr Miyagi) isn't the only way to be a good man. Johnny has another way. I think society too often looks at people like Johnny and assumes they are "toxic". But this show depicts someone who is ACTUALLY toxic and abusive (Kreese) and then contrasts it with someone who means well but had a hard life and made mistakes and learned from them (Johnny) as well as someone who is a lot more by the book on how to be a good person (Daniel, who is successful at work, has a happy marriage and a healthy relationship with his daughter). Progressives unfortunately often see people like Johnny as the enemy, but he's not the enemy. People like Kreese (and Tory) are the enemy. That's real "toxic masculinity and toxic femininity". I'm glad the show spent so much time developing Johnny. I love Daniel too but Johnny is such a loveable character, he's my favourite.

Amanda absolutely wants some of Johnny to rub off on Daniel. Johnny may be 99% irresponsible, but Daniel is 100% BORING. Johnny's the reason Daniel's probably gotten more at home recently than all 20 years prior combined.
Personality wise he might be boring but his life, the way his character has lived it is anything but boring. With that being said, Johnny is easily my favorite character. Imagine if he had a mr miyaki teaching him instead of kreese.
I mean... if I got constantly jumped, beaten up, and almost killed multiple times by crazy people throughout my teenage years I'd want a boring life too. 😂

I am 100 hundred percent behind johnny in all his shinanigans. His philosiphy as a sensei is second to none and he turned a bunch of weak victim teens into being resilient, confident, AND cocky.
