  • This song made famous by Roberta Flack won The GRAMMY AWARDs for Record of The Year and Song of the Year in 1972 with Billboard ranking it as the #1 Hot Single of the year.
The haunting melody and lyrics were composed in 1957 by Ewan MacColl but it was Roberta Flack that gave it the midas touch some 15 years after it was first written and recorded.
Performed here as an instrumental featuring a beautiful vintage Selmer (Paris) Bass Clarinet in the lead melody role it is song that has long since stood the test of time.
