Written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David this famous song became a #1 Billboard Hit for Herb Alpert in 1968. It was the first #1 Hit for the famous song writing partnership of Bacharach and David, and also for Alpert's then fledgling record label A&M Records.
It is played here on a beautiful Selmer (Paris) Bass Clarinet taking the lead vocal role with a Yamaha 8310Z trumpet taking a short instrumental solo in the spirit of the original recording. A full orchestral arrangement supports the lead instruments on what is a timeless melody.
