    👍🏻 FYI Jared, the original TEK fixtures are available on the auction site as of the date you published this. That said, I will be building one of these as well as I have the SG503 and SG504. Thanks!

    Just a suggestion… as much as you enjoy test gear.....
    something I found extremely useful is an ANALOG ESR meter. There are many great designs online from the “five transistor“ version designed by an eev forum member... and a few commercial versions that used to be on the market. The “capacitor wizard” is still on the market but ridiculously overpriced in my opinion. With it’s cheap and boxy looking enclosure and considering you can get a DE-5000 for half the price.
    Would be awesome to see you design and calibrate a good analog ESR tester.
    I really like your process and the way you approach things. And I think you could wade through all of the online information and utilize the designs to make the best and most accurate analog ESR meter.
    Hell I would gladly buy a kit or board. if I could find one.
    I’ve had a few and they are extremely useful.
    The “creative electronics“ meters are great, and the ones that used to be offered by “mat electronics”. I’ve had both and they are lovely.
    Watching the analog meter move is much better when testing ESR in my opinion.

      Hmm, I wonder how hard it would be to make an ESR adapter for an analogue multimeter... Could be an interesting project.

      @@NearFarMedia it’s an exceptionally useful device considering it easily tests in circuit caps. And I always prefer an analog meter when measuring low values of resistance or voltage.
      yeah there’s a nice one that’s designed on the EEV blog that’s a “multimeter adapter“ but I think it’s designed for a regular digital meter.
      Would be cool to make up a tiny surface mount board that could fit inside the housing of an existing meter or something like that.
      Would really love it if you made the “five transistor ESR meter“ from eev blog and build the through hole version. Several people have built it and you can find them on Google. Such a beautiful device and you would really do it justice!
      You could build it on protoboard in an hour and have it up and running in no time. Would be great for ESR testing and low ohms testing. Especially with an analog meter.

    Why is R1 in your bom 100 instead of the 50 in the 067-0625-00 schematic as well as your schematic shown in the video. And why are C1 and C2 in your bom 4700 pF rather than the 8500 pF in the 067-0625-00? Oh, I see. You added C5 and C6 in parallel with C1 and C2 to get 9400 pF. Close enough to 8500 I guess?

    love the channel i have a question how do i get pcbway to make me some pcbs from your video i have looked on the link but can' t find how to order some of your pcbs maybe i can't do that but just needed know if i can there are a couple others i would like also i have a tm501 i'm needing to restore but i can't find any replacement transistors for it do you have any advice where to find any thank you for all the great videos they are a great help

      You just have to download the gerber files then upload them to PCBWay to make an order.

    Just a suggestion… But I strongly encourage you or anyone else to use only energizer ultimate lithium batteries. Not only do they outlast everything by a mile… They also never leak. I’ve had so many expensive pieces of test gear and other related equipment that was ruined by a small leak from alkaline batteries. And now they’re all doing it it seems. And I’ve had the issue with every brand but Duracell is the worst. And they will all leak eventually but energizer ultimate lithium’s will not

      Yeah, I used to use the Energizer Lithiums back in Australia, but they are basically unobtanium here in Japan.
      I think I can get Panasonic brand lithium batteries though which might be of comparable quality.
