Somewhere I have read that Nalanda is made of two words Nalam+Da.
Nalam is lotus, which is sign of knowledge and Da means giving.
So Nalanda == Which gives knowledge.

Rahul Shree Bhadra seems equally responsible for the loss. Why did he give medicine disguised in Kuran when Bakhtiyar was refusing to eat medicine from Hindu? At the most, he would have lost his own life if he had refused treatment. If thousands of monks can loose life, it was better Rahul Shree Bhadra would have lost his life.
