My opinions on these shows: Blue's Clues: I think it's a very creative and original show. Baby Looney Tunes: It pales in comparison to the original Looney Tunes, but it's a harmless show for little kids. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Same as Baby Looney Tunes, though replace "Looney Tunes" with "Mickey Mouse" Dora the Explorer: It has a lot of creativity, but it's frustratingly slow-paced. Teletubbies: Mm, it's okay.
As much as I admire the idea of animated educational shows, I question whether these shows are going to negatively affect the kids brains by making them even dumber in the long run.
"Thanks for scaring little kids into thinking their pepper shaker's going to talk to them" Excuse me? I liked Blue's Clues as a kid, and I never thought my pepper shaker was going to talk to me.
1: I was TOO into Dora the Explorer. I had a themed birthday, a fake laptop and everything. Good god, looking back on that is painful. 2: my brother watched so much Micky mouse clubhouse, that I never wanted to watch the original, or wear anything with the characters on it. So there you go Disney. By trying to branch into another generation, you almost put them off. Basically, My past self is cringe

Steven Dolce they did and now its replaced by dora and friends into the city (Which is slightly better because it has different songs instead of the same garbage every episode, and it's targeted to older kids)

I halfway agree with you. On the one hand, most annoy because you are not their target audience. On the other hand even some pre school shows treat their audience like morons. As a young child, my parents really did not want me to watch Barney because it basically said to just be like everyone else and not be an individual, that "a stranger is just a friend you have not met", and that a person is "bad" if they feel anger or any negative emotion. At least Barney and Mr. Rogers addressed various topics in an age appropriate way
Dude how old are you, you seriously smart, but its hard to tell your age. Also I think you would do a great job in animation, we need good shows on the network
Here's an idea for a good kid show: Children Of The Caribbean. It stars the kids of the original POTC movies, with some cameos of Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly, and Johnny Depp. The show will only last for a mininum of 20 episodes or a maximum of 50 and a TV movie ending the series. The entire show is about David Sparrow, age 9, working through the ranks to become a feared pirate captain, like Jack Sparrow. Since it's a kid show, the action would be toned down and frightening scenes would be gone. But the smart writing and awesome choreographed fighting will stay intact. In every episode, he goes to a major location in the original films. And, the ending movie will be him, his ship the White Pearl, and the Flying Dutchman taking down the entire Sao Feng army after David was framed for killing Elizabeth Swann, when it was actually Davy Jones' kid. And, David in the movie is almost 18.
I seriously hate Mickey-Mouse Clubhouse with a passion. I was kinda okay with their stupid attitudes, but on top of this, they're so shallow and lazy I can't even describe it. They literally have an episode in which Mickey's little 'handy helpers' stop working, and I'm not even kidding, they had literally said things along the lines of "Who's gonna open the door now?!" "Who's gonna make us our food!?" and all this other stupid crap that left me fuming by the end of the episode. Gosh...
Yeah, because Thomas is basically now a toy-selling franchise, and Barney only had a singing stuffed animal and a school playset when the show ended. Britt's other franchise, Mumfie, is trying to be like Thomas and sell toys as well next year. It tried to do so in the nineties, but although the show got high ratings, any merchandise that wasn't of the main character did not sell. This is why the Scarecrow and Pinkey plush dolls are very hard to find, though the former is harder to find. So glad they are making new ones!

My dad also loved Rolie Polie Ollie because it was entertaining Oh, and Selena Gomez was on Barney when I occasionally viewed it. This was due to it sharing the same timeslot as Bear and the Big Blue House and later Madeline on Playhouse Disney, both of which are better than Barney. Really, the plots had gotten weird on Barney before they canned it for Thomas the Tank Engine. I mean, a pistachio addiction? And I watched it because I was waiting for Sid the Science Kid to come on...that's a fun preschool show, as well as the all-time classic Sesame Street.
If anyone thinks Barney and Dora are terrible, go watch Nina Needs to Go. That's 100 times worse. Ironically, the Nina episode "Tower" showed up as related to this-MAI GAWD NO!
Here's how Mr. Enter sums up Dora: "Are you stupid? Touch the screen if you're stupid! Yay, you did it! You're an idiot!" Also, do you realize that one of the songs you used as an example of the same songs being sung over and over again is Dora's theme song?

I've seen it air on Cartoon Network on 9 am on weekdays. I watched an episode on a day when I didn't have school, and I was a little underwhelmed (I was expecting more humor from a Looney Tunes show) but not infuriated.
- Of course children's shows make you feel a bit annoyed, because you are no longer the demographic. The show just doesn't appeal to you anymore. - Children's shows, like 'Blues Clues' and 'Dora the Explorer' use songs to keep the children engaged. Their not supposed to be listened to to get an album. - You're angry because 'Baby Looney Tunes' changed it's concept. Well, if you ask me, characters blowing up each other with some adult jokes should be aimed towards a bit older children, and not toddlers. (Hence the name 'Baby Looney Tunes'). It's purposely aimed towards a young audience. - So, just because Mickey Mouse is made in CGI, that makes the show awful? Granted, the show is weird and annoying, but you can't hate on something just because it's made in a style you don't like. - While you make a constructive point about robbers and 'Dora the Explorer', you need to remember that the show is SUPPOSED to have over-the-top and silly settings, include repetitive songs, because it keeps the children engaged. The writers aren't going to show Dora snapping Swiper's neck. When lines are repeated, it's to get the children to pay attention and learn to use sentences. - 'Teletubbies' is just another example of parents freaking out over something. It happens. It even happened in 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' with the character Derpy. It's just something that happens.
I don't believe that something being for kids means it's excused from criticism, though you DO have to be careful to distinguish between legitimate flaws and things that bother you simply because you're not the target demographic.
Heh, the only kids show I liked was Teletubbies. When I was young, my programming mainly included Looney Tunes, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Cartoon Cartoons, Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo, 2 Stupid Dogs, SWAT Kats, Animaniacs, Kenan & Kel, Martin, All That, The Wayans Bros., Hangin' With Mr. Cooper, Sister, Sister, The Cosby Show, In Living Color, etc.
You're never going to believe this but, there is a Blue's clues reboot in 2019 and it's going to be everywhere especially in the 2019 Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. The nightmare is back.... Jesus help us all.
@@firelightyear More like "Blue has No Clue" first off, why are the characters not cut out animation? And I don't think it's going to last as long as the OG Blues Clues (10 years) because this is not a spiritual success to Blues Clues, even though I don't like the old one, this one spits right in its face. They need to make this show about high school reading comprehension and how to make an effective essay.
@@firelightyear Older audiences saying they love Arthur is an insult, the animation is terrible, the show is just pandering. Nick Jr. ain't no true son of old Nickelodeon they're a long lost cousin. Nick Jr & PBS Kids always have and are still the anti-Christ of cartoons which make SpongeBob look like Shakespeare. Read between the lines, Between the Lions. Nice puppet designs but that's it. These cartoons shove information at us 'bout as cringy as parents buying kids nothing but unhealthy food/desserts/bad cereal.
IMO Epic Mickey was great. (Annoying camera problems though) and it's showing people Mickey can still be enjoyed by Adults and Children alike (unlike Mickey Mouse Clubhouse).
Speak for yourself, Ben. I too agree that kid shows are taking over cable; but I've liked _Bubble Guppies_ since I saw it one morning at a downtown McDonald's near my pediatrician in 2012 with my mom.
When I first watched this: Ben: Where's Porky? Where's Foghorn Leghorn? Where's Bosko? Me: Who's Bosko? Nowadays: I now know who he is! He's my favorite Looney Tunes character!
I watched all of these shows when I was little except for Mickey, and I have to agree with you on what you said about that show. I don't like teletubbies at all though. I did watch it when I was very VERY young but after I stopped watching it I didn't like it. Even though It's not a big problem I hated how the characters looked. They scare me to this day, and that freaking sun baby man. Gets me every time. Dora was a good show and yes I can acknowledge the fact that the show was slow and talked to down audience. You say that the show will make kids dumb and I have to disagree. I know that it's good for kids to have good and smart things to watch, but not every single one has to be a smart interesting show. It's definitely good for creative shows for kids to exist but come on man. Your gonna pick apart Dora:( For shame man for shame. The same goes for blues clues except I think blues clues is a little better than Dora. I think Noggin shows were great. I really liked Wow Wow Wubbzy Wonder Pets and the Backyardigans. Any way thanks for your time if anyone's readying this because I wrote a lot. Bye
Agreed. Thomas & Friends actually taught you how to treat people. But what other educational shows are good? I never understood the idea of a show breaking the fourth wall. Well, Mister Rogers Neighborhood is the only fourth wall breaking show I'm okay with. Little Einsteins isn't great, and I can get tired of it at times. I can't stand Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I don't ever want to see or hear it again. There are shows I don't care about, but this one will tick people off if they think how they're teaching kids. Did anybody like that it looks like a video game?
@@jacobjcb8883 Big Bear and the Big Blue House & Reading Rainbow. I've heard of Captain Kangaroo & Howdy Dootie. I know if I have a girlfriend with her toddlers, I'll only show them Thomas & Friends. I can't find Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. I wonder if I should take them to preschool or not. Otherwise, i'd just see if I can have them talk to other kids in the neighborhood.
My little pony: friendship is magic actually revolutionized what you said about kids shows being annoying to adults Don't believe me? Go watch it for yourself, I think you'll have a glimmer of hope in this world, Ben
LOL I laughed so hard when u called Mickey Mouse big eared idiot and all of the others characters funny different names. P.S. Nice Rant Ben keep up with the good work. ^_^
The Micky Mouse thing my Nephew who is like 2 loved the show more than life... but recentley his parents bought a dvd with the old cartoons like after i was presented in technicolor but before the redesign that is more recognizeable than the original... and he loves the old cartoons way more than Mickey Mouse Clubhouse... My sister in law says they are a bit more violent... yet for some reason he's acted better since he started seeing those... probably because in one of them it clearly shows that being an asshole never pays off where Mickey practically beats the living shit out of Mortimer for being an all around jerk...
My two most favorite shows as a little boy were Between The Lions and Blue's Clues. I still watch Blue and her pal Steve play that beloved happy game from time to time honestly. And I think of Dora The Explorer the same way you think of Blue's Clue. I used to like Dora but as I grew up, it really got annoying for me.
My cousins also watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and they are one. I'm not annoyed by Disney Junior at all-the only thing that peeves me is Nina Needs to Go.
If you liked Thomas, be sure to check out Magic Adventures of Mumfie, Britt Allcroft's other television show for children. It's possibly the best preschool show ever, as it feels more like it was written with elementary schoolers in mind than the target audience thanks to the advanced plots and humor. I've known the show ever since I was a baby when my brother would watch recorded tapes of Fox Family after kindergarten. It sucks that he gave those tapes away, and we only have stuff from when he was older like the forgotten favorite Yakkity Yak and Doug. I would have uploaded the Mumfie recordings...I recall that one of the tapes had my favorite episode, Scarecrowella, on it!
Dora the explorer was kinda bad for me when i was young since i have no experiance with spanish untill my grandma taught me some at the age of 10. but wacthing it with my younger sister...i already pulled out my 3ds and played FF:EX. P.S: baby looney tunes was a funny CN spinoff in my opinion atleast. ^^"
Actually, the Muppet Babies did act like their counterparts; Baby Kermit wanted to be a star, Baby Piggy was obsessed with Baby Kermit, Baby Gonzo was a weirdo as always, Baby Frozzie was still telling bad jokes, and Baby Animal was well Animal.
I have been working on this story which is about one of my OC's and Ed, Edd n' Eddy visiting different cartoons, and one of the ones they visit is Blue's Clues. At one point, while they're there, Double D complains about the show not making any logical sense, to which Eddy responds: WILL YOU SHUT UP ABOUT LOGIC, ALREADY, SOCK-HEAD?! IT'S A SHOW FOR PRESCHOOLERS; IT'S NOT GOING TO MAKE COMPLETE LOGICAL SENSE! Replace "logic" with "the singing", "Sock-head" with "Benthelooney", and "it's not going to make complete logical sense" with "you're not the demographic", and that's what anybody commentating on this video would say.
***** Barney got cancelled five years ago, thanks to Britt Allcroft and Daniel Mittion's masterpiece, Thomas and Friends, getting more attention from HiT!
***** But re-runs air on Sprout, no new episodes will be made. Thomas replaced it and still makes new episodes, but my affiliate loves airing the episode "Just Being You" of Thomas rather than new ones.
I remember during the summer I used to watch all the way through Playhouse Disney cartoons just because I wanted to watch "Phineas and Ferb" so much!! I was basically wasting my time to get to something good!
In fact, PBS Kids' only good shows are Arthur,Cyberchase, WordGirl, Electric Company,SciGirls,Wild Kratts, and Fetch. But these shows dont even count cause they were on a completely different block called PBS KIDS GO,WHICH WAS SPECIIFICALLY TARGETED AT OLDER KIDS.

I just hate that they suck so hard that they use the shows to sell toys to kids and only to sell toys.
I don't believe that something being for kids means it's excused from criticism, though you DO have to be careful to distinguish between legitimate flaws and things that bother you simply because you're not the target demographic.
3:35 actually, blues clues was quiet in some parts.
Barney doesn't talk down to its audience it basically talks down to parents (who the show isn't even meant for)
You're never going to believe this but, there is a Blue's clues reboot in 2019 and it's going to be everywhere especially in the 2019 Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. The nightmare is back.... Jesus help us all.
More like Blues Clues & Poo.
@@anthonyettner9981 Yeah someone ought to rant about Blue's clues...
@@anthonyettner9981 Yeah Nick Jr. Is such a hypocrite.
Same thing with House of Mouse, Mickey Mouse Works, and the Mickey Mouse cartoons from the 1930’s
Speak for yourself, Ben. I too agree that kid shows are taking over cable; but I've liked _Bubble Guppies_ since I saw it one morning at a downtown McDonald's near my pediatrician in 2012 with my mom.
(6:44) ROLLIE POLLIE OLLIE!
Well, Teletubbies got a reboot.
Christopher Lullabie you mean now
When I first watched this: Ben: Where's Porky? Where's Foghorn Leghorn? Where's Bosko? Me: Who's Bosko? Nowadays: I now know who he is! He's my favorite Looney Tunes character!
Right as I was listening to the Dora the Explorer rant, Dora the Explorer just came on TV. woooooooooooooooooah
im a fan of thomas and sure it sucks but some times theres a good episode but you go through all the shit to find the good ones
I like Blue's clues, I'm neutral to Baby Looney Tunes, and I hate the rest
@SonicFamilyGal You're exaggerating, a kid isn't going to hell for watching Dora. Come on!
13:07 and that's how tinky winky joined the barney bunch.
If you had a time machine, would you go back to the 90s, or stop 9/11?
Bye
Everything in Blue's Clues talked???? The thinking chair didn't talk, the notebook with a picture of the thinking chair on it didn't talk.
I personally think the best kids show for toddlers that doesn't treat them like idiots is the original Thomas the Tank Engine
@@anthonyettner9981 I can think of a few others
@@jacobjcb8883 Big Bear and the Big Blue House & Reading Rainbow. I've heard of Captain Kangaroo & Howdy Dootie. I know if I have a girlfriend with her toddlers, I'll only show them Thomas & Friends. I can't find Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. I wonder if I should take them to preschool or not. Otherwise, i'd just see if I can have them talk to other kids in the neighborhood.
@@anthonyettner9981 I can think of plenty of kids shows that are good
@Littletale Sophia Yeah
That too
My little pony: friendship is magic actually revolutionized what you said about kids shows being annoying to adults
Don't believe me? Go watch it for yourself, I think you'll have a glimmer of hope in this world, Ben
4:25 So by your logic, I'm a Lesbian just because I hang out with a best friend (who is the same gender as I am) a lot? I fail to see that.
The actor who played Twinky Winky passed away.
My parents introduced me to The Simpsons along with kid shows! Thats why I love The Simpsons so much
My two most favorite shows as a little boy were Between The Lions and Blue's Clues. I still watch Blue and her pal Steve play that beloved happy game from time to time honestly. And I think of Dora The Explorer the same way you think of Blue's Clue. I used to like Dora but as I grew up, it really got annoying for me.
Chuck Norris is supposed to be worshipped. He's one of the greatest action stars of all time!
I miss when UA-cam was like this . Super simple yet funny , videos didn’t need to have a budget or be flashy
My cousins also watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and they are one. I'm not annoyed by Disney Junior at all-the only thing that peeves me is Nina Needs to Go.
When I watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse:
Mickey: Wanna go in my clubhouse?
Me: NO!
Mickey: Well alright, let's go!
Me: I SAID NO!
I AM SPONGEBOB, DESTROYER OF EVIL I agree!
blues clues scared me and my sister and we hide frem him
My Favorite Kids Show was Thomas the Tank Engine.
That show was so good back in like the 90s I think...
Yes it was!
451asians It was since 80s he came on.
I like Thomas The DANK Engine
Hi. Can you do a double rant on My Friends Tigger and Pooh and Mickey and the Roadster Racers? Thanks.
Playhouse Disney is now Disney Junior
Rant on Barney and Friends.
He doesn't like talking about that show
Actually, the Muppet Babies did act like their counterparts; Baby Kermit wanted to be a star, Baby Piggy was obsessed with Baby Kermit, Baby Gonzo was a weirdo as always, Baby Frozzie was still telling bad jokes, and Baby Animal was well Animal.
Agreed, but I respect Ben’s opinion.
Do I think Dora is a great show? WELL NO, Of COURSE IT'S NOT GREAT! IT IS ANNOYING AND TERRIBLE!
People who like Dora have multiple records of U.I.
@@rebelfleettrooper9881 What's U.I.?
@@isobelmiller7464 Hello! And by the way, UI means "Under the Influence".
@@rebelfleettrooper9881 Okay. Thanks. Also, I liked Dora when I was younger, so I guess I was U.I.
@@isobelmiller7464 Nah, when we were kids, we didn't know any better.
I have been working on this story which is about one of my OC's and Ed, Edd n' Eddy visiting different cartoons, and one of the ones they visit is Blue's Clues. At one point, while they're there, Double D complains about the show not making any logical sense, to which Eddy responds:
WILL YOU SHUT UP ABOUT LOGIC, ALREADY, SOCK-HEAD?! IT'S A SHOW FOR PRESCHOOLERS; IT'S NOT GOING TO MAKE COMPLETE LOGICAL SENSE!
Replace "logic" with "the singing", "Sock-head" with "Benthelooney", and "it's not going to make complete logical sense" with "you're not the demographic", and that's what anybody commentating on this video would say.
teletubbies...man it was creepy

now!
***** Barney got cancelled five years ago, thanks to Britt Allcroft and Daniel Mittion's masterpiece, Thomas and Friends, getting more attention from HiT!

this is in the videos that will get a commentary playlist.
At least MAD does spoofs of these kid shows
And now Cartoon Network has Cartoonito!
And lets not forget about the backpack that does not know what anything is
This rant is comedy!
Blue's Clues was my favorite preschool show when I was a youngester in my time. It was really fun for it was.
