I would say B because as stated the PT already used postural drainage to clear the remaining secretions so the most important intervention at this point is to teach the patient to perform pursed-lip breathing to manage their COPD.

Not sure if you meant to leave out the final answer... I really had to think about this for awhile. In this scenario there's a chronic obstructive condition and an acute restrictive condition. I feel as though the bigger focus would be on this newest onset of the restrictive condition and targeting inspiratory capacity and ability is really important to minimize pulmonary complications during recovery. I'm stuck between C and D. Final Answer... D?

Hi! Great question! We introduce the question here, but this video goes through the question entirely: ua-cam.com/video/8hIOFuri2lA/v-deo.html. I think you'll find the answer to your questions there. If you still have more questions after watching the follow-up video please let us know we'll be happy to answer.

Lea, I agree with you and the rationale you presented! You have a great train of thought here, and I too was tripped up with both an obstructive and restrictive condition at play. I am led to choose Answer C due to its relation to the specific interventions already completed. Segmental breathing seems like the next logical step to follow-up with the interventions PT just performed. However, now I am going to go watch the answer video haha...

@@bethanyldennis Love that you are trying to answer and provide a rationale before checking the real answer. Keep up the good work! Hope you found support for your rationale in the follow-up video :).
