I can really relate to what you said about not knowing something was an option (like saying “I don’t know” when your teacher asks you a question). Thank you for sharing your story. Subscribed!
I like using BetterHelp for therapy, because genuinely, there are a LOT of mediocre therapists out there. And of the competent ones that do exist, only so many know about autism in accurate, helpful ways…. It’s a big issue in the therapeutic profession. So on BetterHelp, I can do therapy in my room (no sensory issues), over the phone (no eye contact), and try out a lot of different therapists. It genuinely takes way too much work to sift through the BS. But when you eventually find yourself a therapist that knows what they’re doing, therapy can be really amazing.
@@stephenie44 Thank you for watching and subscribing :) I'm glad you found things you could relate to. Social skills and all of the implied rules are hard, and you don't realize that you did something "wrong" until you have a bad experience. There are also way too many options for responses and it's a challenge to pick the "best" or most "correct" one. Thank you, yeah incompetent mental health care "professionals" can cause a lot of harm. I'm sorry you could relate to that too. I hope one day it improves as we learn new things about mental health and autism. Although, we'll see because it's all about the $$$.
Thank you for sitting through my 40 minute ramble lol, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you could find things you related to. That was something I was hoping for while filming this video :)
Hope to see more content when you’re ready.

Also, bad or incompetent therapy is the WORST. I’m so sorry. I can relate.
