Elias Ayala they virtually give students academics, however atheletes dont get paid for playing. NCAA makes their profit from tutioms and advertising the best talents of mutiple sports. Now seeing how g league is giving top talemts 125k if they want to go play at the g league. Now the NCAA will need to do somdthing to combat agasint this(pay the atheletes ncaa).

@@jimz_ll732 - colleges are where players get to showcase their skill. That's the problem this kid here is going to have. He got his 1M check before even getting drafted.... But who is drafting a player out of HS who didn't perform against D1 caliber talent? Use your head. A plantation is where men went to die. These kids are getting an education for free while many of us have our parents saving half their lives for some shit these kids get for nothing. It's not slavery.

@@moegerms actually it is in a sense. They dont even own their likeness. When you don't have rights to your own signature thats being owned. Thats a form of slavery. A college education is one of the most overrated thoughts on earth. Proven to me by being a truck driver meeting many ppl who have college degree driving trucks. Not mention many more stories that have been told on major platforms. He wants to play ball if he's good enough he'll get picked up. There are ppl who go thru the developmental leagues and make it, if you have what it takes it'll show itself. Good move for him and his family.

Brilliant even if he doesn't pan out as NBA pro. Has money from internship that will benefit if he plays over seas. Will keep him involved in aspect of sports that he and many players love such as shoe design, marketing, etc.. Sets a precedent that will help him as future agent if he chooses, but serves as blueprint for following players. Will force ncaa and college coaches to show their hypocrisy because as she pointed out, this is money out of the pocket for the colleges, coaches, and the ncaa. Takes away some of power of NBA commissioner, owners, and give more agency to the player.

@@fendi4510 how is it a waste of time? If you have 2 different players, one competes against the best talent for real achievement, vs someone playing scrimmages against lesser talent for...?
It's way more beneficial to go to college if your a great player, because it only helps your draft stock. And if you get injured after the NBA or it doesn't pan out? You have a plan afterwards. Too many players lose all their money after the game with little to call back on.

I for one appreciate brothers like Rich Paul / LeBron James "and" his partners helping black youth in ways that make a positive difference ... that type of consideration for others to make in life, should be applauded 👏👏

More players need to do this. I am sure some team will pick him up. All he has to do is to go overseas or stay in shape before the draft.

listen dude what lavar preached is different from what he executed. the JBA is a joke for many reason. first off non of the kids are d1 level. second the payments are a issue (yeah alan was a fraud but im talking elsewhere cause i aint gonna accept small cash for playing only 1 month with scrubs). third everything was for his kids cause i dont see the JBA anymore after lamelo went back to school

Rich, I’m proud of you and what your team are doing for these young athletes. Teaching them the business of basketball, marketing and strategy as a intern is ingenious. It will allow him to gain knowledge of self and awareness of how things move around him in the league.
