How To Play Chord Backup On Fiddle - Fiddle Lesson

The best way to start learning chord backup is to master three chords (D, G, A) and then play LOTS of songs. Try to learn 20 songs with these three chords. Focus on learning it physically before you even begin to think about theory.

Why are intervals called double stops?

Double stops are when you play two simultaneous strings. Good question though, you got me to look it up.
According to wikipedia it originates from fingering (stopping) two strings, even though in practical use open strings also count.
I had originally assumed it was related to organs, as pulling out two stops will result in two tones for one press of a note.
