Mounting a dive computer with a single continuous bungee is risky. This method lacks redundancy, which is critical for underwater life support gear. If that loop fails, you could lose your computer, compromising safety and dive data. I strongly recommend using two independent loops for reliability. It's essential to prioritize gear security to prevent loss and ensure a safe dive.
If your own computer is absolute necessary for the dive - diving solo, at the edge of the ndl or do planned deco dives - have two computers. Thats real redundancy. It doesn‘t help you, if the second bungee holds the single computer that has failed.
I'll tell you my humble opinion. If I need redundancy I use two computers (or digital depth gauge), because one can break at any time for various reasons. I agree with @TauchEin. My dives are not "very pushed" and I'm always with my buddy. I'm not afraid of losing the computer because the elastic is coated with nylon and in any case if it gets ruined, I notice it immediately. One thing I really appreciate about this system is that I can put it on, with one hand quickly. On a boat, under the sun or when you're in a hurry, you've solved the "problem" on your own. Sorry for my english
doesn't the central point where the bungee knot is at the top make it a bit less stable on the arm, like a tripod? Could you adapt this method to include all 4 bungee holes at each corner instead?
Hey! Hi! Yes, I can try! I'll think about it. Anyway, try using this system - facebook.com/share/p/HdZUr6Lwm9LZ32dr - it's more stable. I've been using it for years now and I'm very happy with it
That is a really cool and practical way to do it.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you appreciated it. In the description I linked a two-page pdf with a simplified version.
Great video. Clear and to the point. Going to do the same setup with mine.
This is really slick! Thank you for sharing!

😅 It is true

A single bungee isn't the problem. I just wouldn't do it this specific way. Make sure a single break can't make the computer fall off.

Muito bom👏 🤩👌
thanks, you can see it better in this photo facebook.com/media/set?set=a.944887517639634
thats a really nice method. does it work for wetsuits also? TIA
