- There is a new member in the family, a little white rabbit, the kitten is a little nervous seeing the little rabbit for the first time.

@Khajiidaro domesticated rabbit are like that. Wild rabbits are really jumpy. Would never even come close to a cat.

We had a Tuxedo cat (I think he was about four years old at the time). And one of two small kittens was involved (not the Tuxedo's kids). The kittens had only been in the house for a few days, long enough for the animals to get to know each others' scents but not long enough to really know much about each other (we kept them separated until we were sure the Tuxedo would not harm the 'intruders').
The Tuxedo (smartass that he was) snuck in behind the exploring kitten while she was behind the toilet. The bathroom was tiny so the door would actually hit the side of the toilet if we opened it too hard. Between the door and the doorjam, we could see part of what happened. The Tuxedo was a GREAT sneak even considering his size and the kitten was really focused on the smells of the room. So the Tuxedo went undetected until he very gently bopped the kitten's rear with a paw.
Of course she SCREAMED of fright from the surprise! But the best part wasn't the scream; I have never seen such a young tiny ball of fluff jump SO high! She went STRAIGHT UP and came even with the level of the doorknob! My Mom and I saw it coming, we were just waiting to hear it but we also got to see it in the hinged part of the door... OMG, we had fits of laugher for a good fifteen minutes, it was SO funny! :D

@@Electric0eye I have not seen a reaction like that before or since. Just WOW, Spring-Loaded teeny-tiny-tot American Mix! The smug look on the Tuxedo afterward was also pretty funny. It's one of my most fond memories as a kid.
But I actually felt bad for laughing because the Tuxedo nearly gave the li'l bean a heart attack.

I like how fear turned to curiosity to chillness in the kitten and the bunny couldn’t care less.
Bunnies seem very species agnostic. 20-odd years ago i introduced a new bunny to my pet chicken and the bunny was all curious and wanted to make friends, and my chicken was absolutely not having any of it. Cue many days of little rabbit loping after a running chicken
Bunnies are very social animals, and will actually suffer from stress and depression if they're alone. Once they've decided another animal isn't a threat, they'll actively seek companionship with it. Cats are actually fairly good companions for rabbits, so long as the cat is gentle or the rabbit can tolerate its attempts to play, since grooming one another is something they both naturally want to do.

My Flemish Giant Lilly (19lbs) kicked our dog Emma (12 lbs) so they were not allowed to play anymore but they did see each other daily through a baby gate, Lilly had a whole room to herself. She could have really hurt Emma so better safe than sorry. I wish they had gotten along (Lilly passed on 3 years ago 😭).

Morgan (the bunny) grew up in a house full of cats and knew how to deal with them.
Ed (tabby) was rescued off my front porch as a very young kitten.
Ed was several years old when Morgan came in, and I was sure it would be trouble, but nope... Now Diva... A 8lb princess of a black cat is the one that kept trying to hunt Morgan... Yeah she got kicked
@@andreworiez8920 Bunnies sure can defend themselves if anyone tries to give them any guff. I’d love to get another house bunny but the husband just retired so we want to travel a bit (with 2 dogs!) Our youngest son will take care of the other animals, 2 cats and my African Grey parrot Kellie.

@@charlottesmom I shattered my back (T12/L1 compression fracture) back in 2001 in a car crash, and Ed came to me just as I was starting the worst of my recovery.
Over 15 years his fir soaked a lot of tears... And he was always there.
We lost him to kidney failure Christmas Eve 2019. I'll always miss him...
@@andreworiez8920 I hate losing a pet no matter who that pet was even losing one of my betta fish was a tear filled event. Losing my bunnies was very tough though, they are such sweet souls. Hope you are all recovered and feeling good, my mom has degenerative back issues and always in pain, back pain is always horrible. 😩

I'm not sure which is stupider: The kitten who thought the bunny was scary, or the bunny who is too dumb to be afraid of a predator.
People have been raising cats together with bunnies. The cats at my house are friends with my bunny.
The kitten is a baby....and the rabbit is domestic, that's why domestic rabbits rarely survive in the wild, their fear instincts have been all but bred out of them.

The claws on any kittens or cats are very sharp, can easily claw across the bunny's nose or eyes and cause bleeding.

Actually having hand raised around a dozen kittens I can say a kitten's claws aren't near as sharp as an adult's claws. The adult cat's claws make me think of a very tiny lion, they're big and very sharp. Kittens are much smaller and softer so yes they can scratch us but we don't have fur to protect our delicate skin, but a bunny that has fur for some protection will certainly not be harmed enough to cause any amount of bleeding.
~In fact the bunny has a much higher chance of harming the kitten since it's claws can do some real damage. My sister's bunny would use its back feet when mad and it made some nasty, big scratches on her arms, some that actually got slight infection. Whereas I've yet to get a serious scratch like that from any of the cats I've raised or handled. Thankfully most domestic bunnies won't harm anyone/anything unless threatened, like this guy, they are very docile creatures.

Cats shouldn't be purposefully stressed out. It's still stressed out at the end of the video. It's not cute, it's mean. The rabbit doesn't understand when the kitten takes a swipe at it's face. So that's an injury waiting to happen. Animals aren't about you or likes. Have some sense, get educated about animals in your care. Please

I love when the bunny does a nose touch and the kitten is like, “Wait, you mean you’re NOT going to kill me?” Touching noses is a friendly greeting among both cats and rabbits, so it makes sense that after that moment of successful interspecies communication, the kitten’s body language starts shifting from caution to curiosity. Those two are definitely going to be bffs.

Yeah, real cute, until somebody tries this when they're grown up. I had this airhead roommate who was convinced her young rabbit and my adult cat would get along like a house on fire, when the relationship was more LITERALLY like a house and fire. As in, the one will eat the other if given the chance. I had to full body tackle my cat to keep it from asserting the natural order when she turned them loose in the same room against my advice. Then she had the gall to get mad at ME for not "training my cat better". Excuse me? Train A CAT to NOT chase prey animals? Are you bonkers?

You'll definitely want to get some carpet for your new bunny to move around on. Bunnies don't have toe beans like dogs and cats, so they have no traction on tile or hardwood. This will cause him stress, and eventually hip problems from moving on it.
