LAWD! No wonder my grandpa taught me how to make O rings for this out of rawhide! Our hood bumpers were cut out of ice maker water line too. fell off all the time but if we got low we'd cut a few more. Love this series, my mother sold my grandpa's tractor for gambling money but I hope to restore one myself someday.
Thanks for your videos and saving an old tractor. I repaired (not as new but working)1947 8N. I also got a 1965 Ford 4000 diesel looking like new...runs great too. It is fun, but so dang expensive. I understand your frustrations.
Looks like the brake adjuster was upside down in the wheel that was not closed up. Might be hard to get to the adjuster through the slot for adjustment. Just an observation. Inspiring me to restore my granddaddy’s and dads John Deere 2010. But, I’d check that adjuster if you aren’t too far along. Save future headaches!
If you look close you’ll see the slot in the backing plate lines up with the adjusting sprocket. Good to go. Thanks for watching. Good luck on that Deere
I am not sure what to say except thanks. I’m a 50 year old guy who’s wife is fighting for her life with stage 4 cancer. I’m here to tell you that life is short and hate and intolerance really don’t do anybody any favors. Trust me, I’m as big a redneck as there is, but I live and I let live. I’m not threatened by anybody who is not like me. Good luck with your life.
Yep, restoration isn't cheap. But you have to remember, many of these parts can't be had at a hardware store. You probably could find these parts cheaper but that involves sitting in front of a computer and cross-referencing part numbers....it would be easier to learn Farsi! You are doing what it is out of love of your Dad, is there a price on that?
i always wanted to restore an old ford tractor. wanted to for years and now that my bitch ex girlfriend is gone i am actually gonna do it lol. think its just what i need to keep my mind occupied lol. Can't wait for your next vid
Great video I really enjoy watching you work.
Hey thanks James. Sorry I haven’t been doing much on it lately but I plan to get back on it very shortly. Stay tuned

Thanks man. I love the Fords. I’ve had a bunch of different models of them over the years. Definitely gets expensive. But worth it in the end.
I have one to and it's has given me a great time slowly redoing it completely
Good man. It’ll last forever when it’s done
What primer did you rattle can spray on the wheel/drum as it looks great?
What material did you cut to make the axel shim and why did you choose that material?

Yup. No complaints here. I’ve done a bunch of restorations. It’s worth spending the money to have a well-running machine.
Try Steiner.tractor parts!
Yeah they’re good. Have used them before. I like finding original stuff though. Aftermarket never has great fitment.
Its a shame what they charge for parts. Unfortunately it costs more to restore them than they are worth
Yup. You can go crazy on one of these if you want to.
@@fulldrawfarm7232 your doing a great job and i like your trying to reuse as much as possible
Thanks Matt. Wait till you see the fenders and wheels I’m going to try and re-use. Pretty rough. Ha.
