  • How we teach subjects matters almost as much as the ones we teach. This year at Practicum, we're talking Mathematics. Sign up for a Free Parent Practicum, where you will engage with ideas pertaining to what math is, why it matters, and how to communicate its value effectively to others.

i think the issue is that the higher the mathematic is, the more interesting and applicable it is
if people/kids understood it they would be more prone to study it, even off school for their own sake.
tho it's not their fault, it's that once you are at school you study the basic stuff just enough to weakly grasp the ideas of higher mathematic but not enough to hold it for long and actually realize the idea that this math is eventually the language in which every basic thing around you can be translated and built.
I for one, once I became 21+ I suddenly found mathematics to be interesting and even now kinda studying it for my own sake before going to university(same subjects, just doing review for myself eventhough i absolutely don't have to) and at school i didnt even study the highest mathematics it had to offer.
for example vectors that are taught it school are taught in an abstract way and in a small picture, same for calculus or even geometry/trigonometry.
    Quite a shame really.
