So much respect for both of them, I'm not a climber but i always admired people that do what they are passionate about and are best at it like these two guys. It seems that Ueli spent his life doing what he loves most and even it was short life i think it was more fulfilling than the life of most people who lived to their old age. Anyway, i hope that something like that doesn't happen to AH any soon so we can enjoy watching his crazy free soloing for many more years ...

And he did take the light fast style to the biggest faces. I don’t know what happened with the Sherpa fight, but there is a mystical quality to every approach to Everest. He was running Everest when he fell. Preparing for an o2 less climb, speed climbing not just Everest but then across to the next peak before coming down!!! And I’m certain if he had not slipped, he would have accomplished that feat by now. I really loved watching him climb. There was something ephemeral about where he had taken his skill. Like he said right to the most precise edge

He climbed routes a million times harder and he hadn't made a single mistake. Most probably he was hit by a falling rock, we'll never know for sure.

My passion flows mainly through music practicing ( drums, guitar and keyboard ), and also drawing. I NEVER was into sports, especially team sports. I'm really into team work but I'm not crazy about rules of any kind. Thus said, I like warriors and gladiators. People who struggle to improve themselves and like to face new challenges. Just watched a great documentary about Alex Honnold on Disney+ and honestly, if I wasn't so old ( pushing 58 ), I'd try my climbing skills a bit. Yeah, lots of climbers end up dead, but I think I understand their passion. I tend to think that nothing happens for no reason. These height lovers aren't just a bunch of crazy suicidal show-offs. They are driven by the fear of the unknown and the inner power to overcome it. I totally get it, and now I admire them fully. It's better to die trying than to dismiss a wide range of life experiences just because some might be dangerous. Their accomplishments eventually end up boosting our collective genetic pool, and I for one, want to thank them all for their magnificently intrepid and adventurous spirits. THANK YOU. You have NOT died in vain.

you overstate it -- climbing is still a mental challenge when you're climbing on a rope. Climbing isn't about going out of your way to take on risk - I think most climbers, even bold climbers like Kevin Jorgeson and Ueli, try to minimize their risk. The mental challenge is working with, and controlling, the risk you've taken on, not just trying to make it more likely you're going to die. Ueli's passion for speed comes at the expense of safety, but I think he's still trying to be safe
