- We took a quick look under my friend Brian's 'new' Austin 7 and had a short drive (the contents of this video were recorded with my own equipment as an enthusiastic hobbyist and I do not purport to be a professional mechanic/videographer). Please subscribe to: ttps:// / mrhooghiemstra
I’m 17 and I just got a 1933 Austin Seven Boxsaloon and I love it. Me and my dad will do it up quite a bit and I can’t wait to bring it to shows near me. It’s such a fun car to play around with.
Thats fantastic to hear! There are not enough young people with classic cars. You are right, they are such fun to drive and very easy to maintain. Keep up the good work, thanks for your response.
Lovely car, shame about the muzak in the background! No music, please. Just the sounds of nature and the car. (Dunno why vloggers think adding music adds to the enjoyment.)
I must have a mental make-up from the days that was built , I wish we all drove cars like that now when the world made sense and one could do our own car servicing because they didn't have computers.
We were born a little too late Bruce....
That car is so gorgeous! Many thanks for preserving it for us. Great change up to third, by the way. Tom (from France)
Thanks Tom, it's in good hands (saw it being driven in the area again today!)
My dad owned an Austin 8.
I would fall asleep on the back seat LONG ways. I used to sit on the running board and my feet didn't reach the road. Happy memories.
This was delightful, thank-you so much for sharing. The little finger indicators brought a tear to my eye, I remember them from my father's car, in fact I remember him having to wire and add little round lights and tape down the fingers when the law changed, I hated the new indicators and have always missed the little fingers. What a beautiful car, I really didn't need the music, it was intrusive, I would have liked to hear more of the engine sounds.. I see it needed double-clutch for the gear changes lol gosh I miss these old cars they were so round and artistic and carefully made, I miss the dipswitch on the floor and I LOVED the horn! thank-you for including that it made me smile.
Very nice late RP saloon that originated in Roxburghshire - hope Brian enjoys his ' new ' purchase !
He will Roger!
I wish there where still small cars like this being built. Here in America it seems every one thinks bigger is better.
I know, this is such a cute car isn't it?
@@Daimler-Jensen very much indeed.
Thanks a lot! Very charming. Greetings from Stockholm
Apart from the other vehicles and the odd road marking it could be 1934.
and the drone lol??
The thing I hate about cars of the era is the whine of the straight cut gears, though it doesn't sound too bad in that.
Lovely
😂❤😂lovely car great video thanks for sharing 👍.
Long lasting cars...still run...😊
Beautiful, I am just starting my love affair with Austin.
welcome!
Please loose the music it spoiled the video!
sorry Trevor, point taken.
